Windows App Certification Kit error - windows

The kit started hanging for twenty minutes while testing an app, and I clicked cancel but it continued to hang. So I fired up task manager and killed it. Now it won't start at all due to error cleaning .etl file from the last session - no permission. It's in AppData/Local/Microsoft/AppCert/ftlog. Any suggestions?
No luck on Google search, and I've tried just deleting that file/folder. It's read only, and won't even show who owns it. The kit runs fine on the other accounts on my pc which have no ftlog folder since I haven't ran any sessions on those accounts. So I think getting rid of it would fix the problem. That's easier said than done however...
Also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Windows 10 sdk, but that didn't delete the AppData evidently.

Rebooted this morning and problem solved! Hopefully this post can save someone an hour or two of your life.

Windows 10 looses internet connection after 90 minutes

I have a problem with Windows 10 and I am kinda clueless on why and how I should fix it.
I have a work laptop that was upgraded to windows 10 last month. Ever since I got it I have been having problems with my Internet connection. About every one or 2 hours I stop being able to access the internet. I try and run the Windows diagnostic tool but there are of no help. Only restarting the computer helps, which is a major pain.
I have installed Wireshark to monitor my connections but unfortunately I am not really savvy with it. I can however see that there are quite a few broadcasts being made (they make 90% of all connections being made) but I cannot see from where they come.
I have tried disabling all energy saving options, updating the drivers for the network adapter, reinstalling the antivirus and even a hardware test. Nothing helped. My next step would be to reinstall Windows but I only want to do that as a last resort.
Any ideas what I could do next?
So, I actually fixed my problem. I didn´t really figure out exactly why it happened but I found a work around.
In Windows 10, I opened the Event log to see if there was an error being logged. Thankfully I have been documenting when I lost connection so this was easy to find. I saw that everytime I lost connection, Event 4231 was being logged. I googled the Id and found a solution on this website.
I followed the instructions there and had no more problems ever since.

Clickonce App Doesn't start with Windows 1803

I have a Clickonce app from Visual Studio 2015 SP3 that is published to the network server and used in-house only. The program works just fine when launched from Visual Studio. It runs just fine on a Windows machine that does not have the 1803 update. But once a machine updates to 1803, the application no longer starts. I get the "Checking for updates..." window then nothing. On a fresh install, I usually get the Smartscreen telling me the program may be dangerous. It doesn't get that far.
I've created the Clickonce from a computer with the 1803 update and the problem still exists.
I've disconnected the machine from the network. The application starts but then has no database access and it needs the database. It's also written to hide buttons that would use the database to prevent users from trying to do things that require it.
I found a workaround (third paragraph) at https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/7cbd16f5-526e-4b0b-a186-3ebf41b7b349/smartscreen-prompt-does-not-show-for-clickonce-app-since-windows-10-update-1803?forum=win10itprogeneral. When I start the application from the directory mentioned, I get the Smartscreen and can tell it to run anyway. Every time I click the desktop icon, it works just fine.
If a new release is published, the new release is downloaded and the program updated, but the Smartscreen no longer appears and the application never starts.
So somewhere between installing the latest update and the Smartscreen, this is failing. Anyone else experiencing this and have an idea as to why?
Yes, frustratingly I also experienced this today. Presumably a security update that they'll release another patch for given this is quite a pain for developers and users of small business apps.
Rather than disable Defender or SmartScreen I chose to add my deployment website to the Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer and that then re-instated the warning dialog and my app updated and ran as before.
Really annoying given the nature of the issue and how long it took to figure out, but at the same time I had to use IE today, which is a rare event nowadays.
This works for me...Warn doesnt warn anymore...
After running in the same problem, I just found that my application was going to halt after a stupid uncaught exception.
Despite the fact that the image below is in Portuguese, Event Viewer shows the right error cause.
In my case, was a corrupted settings file!
It appears as though some subsequent Windows Updates have fixed the issue on several of our PC's that were previously experiencing the issue.
Check for the updates listed here.

Cannot submit Xcode Archive to Itunes Connect. "Uploading Archive: Sending API Usage to Itunes Connect"

Hello Ive sent a version of my app one week ago through Xcode 6 and it didn't have any problem. Today Ive tried to upload a new version of my App via Xcode and when uploading, the progress bar stays in "Sending API usage to Itunes Connect". It doesn't give me any errors, nor warnings, it just stays like that forever.
Ive been looking in google and also in here, and found a lot of solutions (ones more logical than others). Well, Ive tried ALL those solutions, I've created new provision profiles, restarted my computer, restart Xcode, changed "netinfo", connect to new wifi, among others.
Its really driving me crazy since I didn't do anything, it just stopped working.
There are a lot of question with this same topic on the internet (including StackOverflow) and I think there is no one ultimate answer that really explain why this happen. Ive seen very detailed answers but none of them worked for me.
Some of this questions are:
1) Can't Submit App to App Store: “Sending API Usage to iTunes Connect” either times out or loses connection.
2) Application Loader (Apple) stuck on “Sending API usage to iTunes Connect”.
3) Stuck on “Sending API usage to iTunes Connect”.
If I export the archive into an .ipa I can upload it with application loader. I don't know why I can't do it with Xcode. Ive always used Xcode for this.
The reason I want to know how to do it with Xcode is that I don't know if uploading only the .ipa and configuring in app purchases only directly via itunes connect's webpage without doing it in application loader(the button that says "New In-app Purchases" template) , will also work.
I hope someone could help me.
Thank you.
minimise the organiser window
reopen it from mac floating menubar
This seems to be refreshing the connection while online. Works for me.
I had this same problem a few minutes ago, let me explain what I did:
Restart your router/modem
Restart your Mac
Set the active scheme in Xcode for iOS Device
Make a new archive
Validate before submit
These steps work perfectly for me, hope that helps.
I also faced similar problem. I can't upload from my office, but can upload from my home. I assumed that my office's internet connection has problem with Apple server. If you get problem with Xcode to upload, you can download Application Loader separately from iTunes connect and try with that and wait for passing sending api usage state.
Try doing this:
cd ~
mv .itmstransporter/ .old_itmstransporter/
"/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Applications/Application Loader.app/Contents/itms/bin/iTMSTransporter"
Seems to be working for a lot of others - https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/76803
I couldn't make this work on XCode 7.1.
I had to upgrade to 7.1.1, which allowed me to export the binary for App Store Deployment, and then use the Application Loader to upload the app for review.
Absolutely crazy, Apple.
I've found that instead of restarting your router and machine etc, simply clicking 'Renew DHCP Lease' in the TCP/IP settings of your internet device (under Network in System Preferences) solves the issue much quicker and easier, for me anyway.
Just another error that makes working in Apples eco-system all the more fun and exciting...
There was no one particular procedure that seemed to do it in my case: restarted router, restarted Mac, restarted Xcode, recreated profiles on developer website, viewed them in Xcode, recreated archives, attempted just validating for App Store. All of these things over and over again.
My experience has been that you should just kept trying until suddenly it works. Which is sadly not the magic button to click that I was looking for.
Possibly the fact that I managed only twice in the last dozen or so upload attempts in the morning from here in the UK (making it approx 02:30 over there in the US), indicates it's perhaps an iTunes overloaded problem.
I had the same problem, though none of the suggested steps solved my problem, other than using the Application Loader.
However, one thing that bothered me was a warning message saying that:
The resulting API analysis file is too large. We were unable to validate your API usage prior to delivery. This is just an informational message.
It came to me that it might be the reason why Xcode's uploading might be messed up, since it locks at the Sending API usage to iTunes Connect.
Some people mention it in some posts here in stackoverflow.
For me Network is not allowing to upload the build as office wireless is having firewall so I had to move to other wi-fi to upload the build.
Just adding another possible answer here that fixed it for me.
I was on a VPN at work. Disabling this and trying again worked.

Titanium Developer Crashes on Startup (was fine)

Closed my laptop when I left work. When I got home and opened it, it had restarted. Now when I go to open Titanium Developer it instantly crashes.
So I can't even open it now. Any ideas on how to debug this or figure out what is going wrong?
Thoughts of even trying to see a message or any detailed error report would be helpful. I'm pretty new to the Mac world, I'm not even sure why my computer restarted - is there a place to see events or what may have triggered that. Couldn't find anything on their forums about this issue.
I experienced the same instant crash problem and found a post on http://developer.appcelerator.com/question/21121/titanium-crashing-on-startup-on-mac that suggests running this chmod -R g+u /Library/Application\ Support/Titanium - so far so good.
Solved this awhile back, just realized I didn't tie up this loose end. I actually had to reinstall the OS. One of the Os files must have been corrupted or locked. With OS X you can reinstall the OS without reinstalling over your apps or data. So took about 30 minutes to reinstall and everything was fixed!
For anyone experiencing this in 2017 and beyond:
Quit Appcelerator
Load Terminal
appc logout
The Dashboard was attempting to load my cached user stats but appcelerator was rejecting my expired session. Logging out of appc solved my issue.

VS2010 Test Runner - Unable to start agent process

I can't run any tess in VS2010. Even tests that have run before. I remember setting some services to manual start a few weeks ago, but can't remember what!
Problem: Which agent process / service do I need to start to make this work?
Edit: Even after uninstalling and reinstalling Studio2010 (and taking off the Novell Netware Client which I though may be an issue) it still doesn't work.
Got it! Avira Antivirus (even when 'disabled') seemed to be the culprit. Uninstall of the Antivirus made everything work again.
I'm using VS2015, I was experiencing the exact same error as the original poster (OP). My solution turned out to be simply turning on the add-on's within Internet Explorer so that I could start recording proper tests of my webapp. There were 3 or 4 add-on's that I simply had to enable. After I did that, this error "Unable to start agent process" never came back.
