I stopped my deliver because some files were corrupted.
So I deleted my view and created a new one.
But when I want to "undo deliver", I have this message :
Can't find root directory of snapshot view with tag "MyView1".
Unable to determine view root of snapshot view "MyView1".
View "MyView1" is inaccessible.
I tried to follow this instructions but it don't work.
How can I cancel that deliver operation?
Try the same deliver using command-line cleartool deliver
You need to reset the view used for that deliver to a new one.
-reset -to integration-view-tag
You must not remove the developer view when a deliver operation is in progress.
However, if the integration view is lost during a deliver operation, you can use the -reset -to option to reset a new integration view so you would be able to cancel the operation. You can also use this option with -resume and -complete.
Use that to resume the delivery. Once the delivery is in progress, interrupt it (CTRL+C) and then try to cancel it.

When running either a Robo Script Recorder or Espresso Test Recorder, when clicking on a custom view, the click action is not being recorded. I've checked to make sure that the custom onTouchListener is calling performClick() when Action.UP is called. Is there something else that needs to be done as well to make sure the recorders pickup the click actions from custom views?
For those that might run into this issue in the future, if you have a custom OnTouchListener that is being assigned to the view, make sure that the listener doesn't consume the event (i.e. return true). It should always return false. Also if you call performClick() as part of the ACTION_UP, make sure you break out of the switch for this case and not let it fall through to the bottom if you have another action case to be handled after it.
If you consume the events, then you interrupt the PerformClick#run() flow for the view, and th Espresso Recorder and Robo Script recorders can not register the events.
This information came from the Firebase Slack channel.
Strange enough that I have to ask such a simple question.
I started automating with UFT and I suppose the correct way to check if for instance my login has worked is to add a checkpoint on the next page.
But how do I do that?
All info I get from google is on how to add an already existing checkpoint to may page. But I don't have any.
Here is how I go about automating:
I add manually the relevant objects to the object repository
I create parameters for my action
I create the code that does the steps on the page
one action per page seems to be fine for me
But in the Object Repository of UFT 14.53, there is no button to add a Checkpoint.
A workaround for me would be to just add another Object and check it's existence and forget about checkpoints. Until I hopefully get an answer here, I will try to do just that.
In UFT there are typically two ways to verify that things are working as expected.
Flow (implicit) - In order to verify that progress in the application is successful (e.g. login) one usually just keeps working with the app, assuming that if the previous step failed, the objects needed for the next steps won't exist and the test will fail due to ObjectNotFound errors
State (explicit) - In order to see that objects have a specific state, checkpoints are usually used. Checkpoints are typically added during a record session, I'm not sure if there's a way to add them directly to the repository. An alternative to checkpoints, which works better with keyword driven testing (no recording), is to use the built in CheckProperty method.
I have a scenario where the user wants a check in place to ensure that all tasks have been completed before moving onto next stage on the Business Process Flow.
Is there anyway to do this?
2 ways to achieve it.
Option 1: Create a bool field - Tasks closed? & keep that in BPF step, if it’s true then platform will also users to move forward. Otherwise not.
You can mark this as read-only, write a plugin on Task completion to update this as yes, when there is no more open tasks.

Option 2: Can have a js validation onStageChange or onSave to retrieve open child tasks, check the count, show notification & preventDefault.

You can do the same in pre-update plugin, throw InvalidPluginExecutionException if there are open tasks.
I have a Finder Sync Extension that will display a badge on a file based on the state of a local database. It's straightforward enough to query this database in the requestBadgeIdentifierForURL function, but what if I want the badge to change for a Finder item that's already visible if the state of that database has changed (which can be via a notification through any variety of mechanisms). The documentation (https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/General/Conceptual/ExtensibilityPG/Finder.html) would seem to imply this is possible with this statement:
You might also want to track these URLs, in order to update their
badges whenever their state changes.
The only ways I can imagine this would be possible (and most seem wrong) would be:
call setBadgeIdentifier:forURL from another application that is aware of the change
Launch a thread in the init function of my extension which listens for notifications and calls setBadgeIdentifier:forURL when it receives them
Call some OS API that prompts Finder that the extension should be triggered via requestBadgeIdentifierForURL.
Only the last one seems feasible, and could be managed via the extension informing the outside resource what needs refreshing via the beginObservingDirectoryAtURL/endObservingDirectoryAtURL callbacks, but i don't know what mechanism could do this.
I was wondering if anybody ran into the same issue as I am facing now.
What I'm trying to do is have a workflow that checks the condition of a field (optionset) of a form. If the field has option 1, 2 or 3 then create new record with certain shared attributes, otherwise start a child workflow. The child workflow is a "Dialog" process, not a "workflow" process which informs the user that the record was not created and why. For some reason I cannot select the dialog workflow from the dropdown list of available child workflows...
Both the parent workflow and the "dialog" workflow process are based on the same entity.
If anybody has any ideas on how I could debug this or any clues in general I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post!
It is not possible to call a dialog from a workflow (see here).
Workflows are generally triggered by events.
Imagine the ramifications - which user would receive the dialog and what if no-one was logged in?
One option is to drive everything with JavaScript
Trigger on change of the option set
Create the records
Start the workflow
Start the dialog
See the section under the heading "Opening a Dialog Process by Using a URL" on MSDN here
Rather use the URL than showModalDialog or showModelessDialog.
What might work even better is to call an Action from JavaScript. The Action can run synchronously and create all records, start child workflows and dialogs.
A synchronous workflow can stop an event and return an error message to the user, but cannot return success messages - it look like this will not meet your requirements, but Gareth Tucker has an example here.
