while my phone acquires a wifi network for loading ads(Google Admob), the controls(image) of my page gets unresponsive.
i am not doing anything apart from using this code in my .xaml?
<google:BannerAd AdUnitID="MyAdUnitId" Name="AdControl">
<google:BannerAd.TestDeviceIDs>
<sys:String>MyId</sys:String>
</google:BannerAd.TestDeviceIDs>
</google:BannerAd>
How can i fix this?
You can't.
Google admob for Windows Phone is buggy and it seems they don't care.
I stop using it in favor of other better implemented ad network controls.
Don't bother trying to post on AdMob forums, they auto-delete any post containing the words admob and windows phone.

I've tried searching and surprisingly I couldn't find anything on this. I have seen a few web apps that have desktop applications. For instance in gmail you can go into the settings and enable desktop notifications and get an alert even if you don't have the browser open at all. Also, there is an app called "slack" that I have been playing around with and I somehow got desktop notifications enabled. Also, google hangouts gives me notifications every once in a while. I don't know if this is a google chrome thing, or if it is a mac specific thing. Does anyone have any idea how these apps are posting these notifications?
Is it a browser specific thing? A platform specific thing? Did I download some type of desktop app that I have forgotten about that is enabling these apps to do this? Has anyone else created a desktop alert for their web app and how did you do it?
A similar question asked -
Chrome Desktop Notification.
From a front-end standpoint, there is EventSource for this, though you could also use websockets or polling (checking every few minutes/seconds).
Event Source and Server-Sent Events.
We have a mobile version of our web site which works well on all mobile screen resolutions and sizes. Now, we would like to build a very simple app for Blackberry and Windows Phone 7. The app would be trivial - after you click on its icon, it opens a web browser and send you to our mobile web site. Just like a Windows OS shortcut that you place on your desktop.
Can you tell me if Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 policies allow such app be published? For example, Apple rejected us.
I can't speak for Blackberry, but Requirement 2.10 from the WP7 Application Certification Requirements:
Your application must have distinct,
substantial and legitimate content and
purpose other than merely launching a webpage.
So the answer seems to be no on the WP7 marketplace. Is there a reason you want to create an app like that anyway? On WP7, users can pin a tile to their home screen that will launch the website they've pinned. You could simply encourage users to do that on their WP7 and you'll get the same effect (except your site won't appear in the app list).
Seems this is okay for BlackBerry. See section 4.b of the App World FAQ.
Very strange. Our company has placed a similar application on Android Market and the Appstore and they have been resolved and now they available at stores. Also, I had a similar application for Windovs Phone, and it was also allowed.
P.S. Our application is not just a browser window, it has custom control panel in bottom. Also it has the communication protocol with the site - such a sending pictures from camera and phone and access to phone contacts.
i use the admob wp7 sdk for displaying adds in my apps, but i dont see any, it looke like:
<google:BannerAd
xmlns:google="clr-namespace:Google.AdMob.Ads.WindowsPhone7.WPF;assembly=Google.AdMob.Ads.WindowsPhone7"
AdUnitID="MY_AD_UNIT_ID">
of course i insert my adUnitID, when i start my app i dont get anything to see, also when i enable test mode i cant see anything, what could be worng? on the homepage i see that i got requests because it counts up, but nothing to see.
other question:
are there any other add providers instead of smaato and adDuplex which provide a WP7 sdk?
As of today the Microsoft Ad SDK for WP7 can now be used in all territories where the marketplace is available.
Alternatively you could consider AdDuplex
I would recommend looking at the documentation and contacting admob support. Its a third party control so you would be lucky to find someone on here who can offer advice.
I am trying to use the recently released Google's Admob sdk for a Windows Phone 7 app. The problem is there is a textbox in the page and whenever Admob's ad is loaded or refreshed, the focus is lost from the textbox causing the input keyboard to hide (kind of unintentional). Does anyone else have a similar problem? Is there a solution to this?
the AdMob SDK is currently only in BETA, i would either wait for a full release if it's inhibiting your programs function or make do with it until then
For example in this demo: http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/scheduler/index
On a desktop browser, clicking on the event opens an editor. On a mobile touch device, tapping on the event does nothing. This repros also when running Chrome device emulation as iPhone.
Telerik claims that this works here:
http://www.telerik.com/forums/creating-or-editing-event-in-mobile-browser
so I don't understand how they can make that claim.
Can someone please confirm that this does not work, or if I'm doing something wrong? I am just evaluating their product at this stage, so I do not have paid support subscription required to reply on that forum thread.
I figured out the answer to my question. On mobile devices, the scheduler needs to be configured for mobile using mobile:"phone" or mobile:"tablet", as well as instantiate a kendo.mobile.Application.
Here's an example: http://dojo.telerik.com/#ggkrustev/uCiNU
