Does anybody know how would I be able to access the new Mobile Apps Analytics from a Windows Phone device? it seems they have SDKs only for Android and iOS but not any REST service anyway, have anyone looked into this? thanks
Ok looks like I found my answer :) http://googleanalyticssdk.codeplex.com/ this is what we need for the long term.
Use the Microsoft Silverlight Analytics Framework. It was designed for Windows Phone in mind and should be your first choice when it comes to in-app analytics. It supports Google Analytics, among other services.
Also, here is now the Google Analytics SDK - you can get it on CodePlex and NuGet (note: pre-release software).

Shortly after Microsoft's announcement that Xamarin would be free with Visual Studio, they announced Insights merge with HockeyApp.
When I follow the Insights guide here: https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/insights/getting-started/
I only get to the new app setup before I receive the error:
An active Xamarin Platform license is required to add applications to Insights.
I've been trying to find out where to put my visual studio enterprise license code in the Xamarin portal so I can get some crash analytics with my mobile app.
I see notifications everywhere mentioning the merge with HockeyApp but I haven't found anything that says Insights is being deprecated. A 'merge' to me by definition implies that both HockeyApp and Insights are changing and they both should now be the same service.
Does anyone know the process for crash analytics in Xamarin? It looks like it's been months since their announcement but I haven't found clear direction for new mobile applications.
Insights is only available to accounts who are grandfathered in. Moving forward, they are encouraging Insights and HA users to migrate to the new VS Mobile Center (mobile.azure.com) although there is still not feature parity with the older two platforms. However, if you are primarily interested in Crash analytics that is available in Mobile Center.
Does Google Ad mob SDK currently supports Silverlight (WP8/WP8.1 Silverlight) only? How can implement it on Windows phone 8.1 RT platform?
Short answer, no. According to https://developers.google.com/admob/ the official SDK is for Android, iOS, Unity and Cocos2dx.
You way want to have a look at Smaato (https://www.smaato.com/resources/sdks/) which seems to be a 3rd party framework that supports Admob and had Windows Phone 8.1 SDK's, not a recommendation so please do your own research
AdMob is no longer supported by Windows Phone applications.
google stopped their support to windows phone
How to install Google Play Service in Xamarin Android Player. I have found the link https://university.xamarin.com/resources/how-to-install-google-play-on-android-emulator which does not work in windows. It does not allow me to drop the Google Play Services .zip file from www.teamandroid.com/gapps/ .Any suggestion or link please.
Thanks!
I would recommend to use the android emulator that ships with the current version of Android Studio (by now 2.1). Google did a good job and a major overhaul with that version. It now is as fast as Genymotion or the Xamarin Android Player. Plus it as Google services support build in.
I'd like to ask tutorial about Nativescript for Windows Phone?
I already search on google but there is no tutorial about developing windows phone app using native script.
Thanks.
Nativescript for Windows Phone is not released yet. As far as I remember, the preview version should be available in May 2015.
I'm starting to develop a player for windows phone 8. I have a login on appHub and can access docs and tools for WP7 development. It seems that there are some differences between WP8 and WP7, e.g., WinRT APIs are used instead of Silverlight for player development. I wonder whether the development documents and sdks for WP8 are available now. Where can I get them?
Right now you only have SDK for Microsoft Surface.. The SDK for WP8 is still not available
the sdk for wp8 is still not available hence you won't be able to get any material for those now.
you just have to wait.
you could still continue to develop for wp7 in the meantime and port it over to wp8 later on when the sdk is release.
You can now download the WP8 SDK and documentation here:
