Get featured image from any link (without ever needed to upload files to wordpress image library) - wordpress-featured-image

I have a question about wordpress Featured Image. When i need a Featured Image for a post of my wordpress site, i must upload the file to wordpress library and choose to make it display. The question i have today is that, is it possible to add a field in wordpress library that says insert from url to get file from a link that works for Featured Image? Why do i need this option? Because, i want only to add image to Featured Image for a post instead of adding the image to the content of a post, and there won't be full of files in my gallery. I noticed that, this option(insert from url) is only available when i'm adding images to post, but not available for Featured Image. Any solution for this?

Get image from URL - Power Apps

I'm building a simple app, which shows news from different websites, e.g. https://techcrunch.com/2020/07/28/transferwise-five-unicorns/
My source is a database with news URLs.
Each article comes with an associated image. I do not have a URL of the image, only URL of news itself.
My question is, how can I get the associated image to appear in my Gallery? Is there a function I could use?
Here is an effect I'm trying to achieve:
Help please,
Thanks!

Ps. I know it is possible, as all rss readers (like Feedly) or even SharePoint news webpart easily pull image just from provided link.. but how?
Are you unable to copy the image path and manually input it into where you want it to go?

How to implement image upload support to a WYSIWYG html editor?

I am having trouble finding out a good way how to add image support to a WYSIWYG editor such as Stack Overflow is using. I understand it is HTML, and when adding an image, an <img> tag with the link to the image is going to be created and added to the body. However, what if I would like the users to be able to upload(ideally paste/D&D) images from the file system.
I noticed that Stack Overflow is using an imgur widget for that, so I suppose the image will be uploaded to imgur and then the imgur link is going to be used. However, my usage is internally in a company and some of the images are confidential, therefore they should not leave the intranet.
I appreciate any help I can get :) Thanks in advance.

Redmine Updating Images

Our Redmine server has CKEditor, which allows for inserting images into Wiki pages, documents, etc.
The images are embedded into the pages via a direct link to the image, i.e. https://redmineserver/attachments/download/94/someimage.png.
The only way we know of to update this image is to delete it then upload the new image. The problem is that the new image will be at a different directory, i.e. https://redmineserver/attachments/download/89/someimage.png, thus breaking all our previous links to https://redmineserver/attachments/download/94/someimage.png.
There is an extension called CKFinder which will fixes this, but we're looking for a free alternative (without coding our own plugin).
Does anybody know of another plugin to update images without breaking their references?

Magento: Can't understand uploading images via desktop instead of via FTP client

I am pretty new to Magento and I had a quick question.
I am struggling to understand how I can upload an image straight from my desktop to my website via the Magento backend without adding it to my FTP client first, and it still show up on other peoples computers when they access the website?
To elaborate on this, in the backend location System/Configuration/GENERAL/Design/HTML Head/Favicon Icon, to add the Favicon Icon you simply search your desktop for the image you want, were with other images, I have to add them to my FTP client first. Why is this and what happens if I were to delete the chosen Favicon Icon off my desktop, would the image still appear on my website?
Thanks
Short (only?) answer: Magento is fairly inconsistent when it comes to administering these specific files. Some options (favicon, email logo, logos for PDFs) can be uploaded directly via form input in System Configuration. Others (such as header logo) cannot.
If I were forced to explain the logic (though I'm not sure it's intentional): favicon, email logos, and PDF logo image assets are not subject to theme design factors such as element layout and CSS. Whereas this is the case though I would think that Magento would not provide the option to change the path for the header logo.

Slideshow / Thumbnail on homepage not shows up on wordpress 3.4.2

I'm new to wordpress and currently I'm building a website using it. But now I'm confused about why my post's image doesn't show up on the homepage's slideshow / featured post but it does show up in the post if I open that post. I'm using Weekly Theme right now, but if I change to another theme it will return the same result too ( images won't show up ). How to fix this? Is there any specific codes I need to add or what?
Thanks in advance!
It's a bit hard without being able to see what's going on. Do you have a link to the site? Or the place you got the theme from?
Is it just the image that won't show up in the slideshow/featured area? Or does the text not show up either?
- If it is just the image then you are probably not setting an image in the way the theme wants. Ensure the image is both "in" the article text and also set as the Featured Image using the box on the right-hand-side of the edit screen.
