Unable to compile Firefox OS - compilation

Sorry about the vagueness of the question title, but I've been having problems compiling Firefox OS and am unsure where to turn (I know there's Bugzilla but I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is a bug or not)
Basically, I've been trying to compile the latest Firefox OS from source using the official instructions. I'm trying to build a system that supports the languages en-GB, en-US and tr (with en-GB as the default). My .userconfig is as follows:
export MAKE=
export CC=gcc-4.6
export CXX=g++-4.6
VARIANT=user
# GAIA l10n
export GAIA_DEFAULT_LOCALE="en-GB"
export LOCALE_BASEDIR="$PWD/locales"
export LOCALES_FILE="$PWD/locales/languages_some.json"
export GAIA_KEYBOARD_LAYOUTS="en,tr"
# Gecko l10n
export L10NBASEDIR=$PWD/gecko-locales
export MOZ_CHROME_MULTILOCALE="en-GB tr"
export PATH="$PATH:$PWD/compare-locales/scripts"
export PYTHONPATH="$PWD/compare-locales/lib"
The contents of languages_some.json is as follows:
{
"en-GB" : "English (GB)",
"en-US" : "English (US)",
"tr" : "Türkçe"
}
compare_locales contains an unmodified clone of this repo, and gecko-locales contains clones of en-GB and tr locales from the official repository (there is no 'en' or 'en-US' repository).
Now, I'm not 100% sure where the error is. I have tried searching Google for any suspect lines, but nothing has come up.
I have posted full output as a GitHub Gist. Suspect lines as far as I can tell (this is my first time compiling either Firefox or a mobile phone OS) are:
2015-03-16 16:43:12: stackwalker.cc:125: INFO: Couldn't load symbols for: |
2015-03-16 16:43:12: basic_code_modules.cc:88: INFO: No module at 0x2ab95ac94aa0
(then followed by a lot of 'No module at ...' errors)

This error is repeated a fair few times throughout the code, but I can't tell if it's harmless or if it's stopping the build.
There's also a bunch of lines about missing translations, but I imagine they're just harmless. I have tried to cut them down as much as possible (by adding the missing translations) but the problem persists.
Oh yes, and in case someone asks, I have been running with my phone plugged in, and it is visible on adb devices. I have also tried removing the out and backup-inari directories.
System specs, PC:
Debian Sid, mostly up-to-date, but running with an old version of make (build refuses to run on any version newer than 3.8)
GCC 4.6 and 4.9. export CC=gcc-4.6 set in .userconfig
G++ 4.6 and 4.9. export CXX=g++-4.6 set in .userconfig
Phone:
Original ZTE Open. This originally came with FFOS 1.0, but I have since upgraded to 1.1 by flashing the official ROM.

Run an exe file on a Mac with Wineskin (VseeFace Application)

I really hope that someone could help me out with my problem.
I want to start an exe File (VSeeFace - see https://www.vseeface.icu for more information) on my Mac with wineskin. VseeFace is an application for Vtubing.
The application starts normally via Wineskin, but as soon as I try to open my avatar (a .vrm file), the software stops and I don't know why. I have searched everywhere and found nothing about my problem, but perhaps that is also due to my limited knowledge of development skills.
Can anyone help me please?
My Mac:
MacOS Monterey Version 12.4
Radeon Pro 575X 4 GB
My Wineskin Setup:
Wrapper Version Wineskin 2.9.1.5
Engine WS11WineCX64Bit22.0.1-1
Config Utility - Windows-Version 8
VseeFace Software – https://www.vseeface.icu/#download
They also describe how it will work on Linux or maybe Mac,
https://www.vseeface.icu/#running-on-linux-and-maybe-mac
For the Facetracking I run OpenSeeFace (but that seemed to work, I could see the green light of the iMac camera, but I couldn't test it because of my software problem).
I mean I could run the application but on the most important Screen it stops working.
In the debug.log file I noticed the following messages:

Multiple problems installing TeX Live 2021 on Windows 10

I have a Windows 10 laptop where no TeX distribution was ever installed before (double-checked for config directories, files, and environment variables).
Wanting to install TeX Live 2021, I followed the full installation guide and also read the Windows-specific warnings. I've now tried several times, following different installation procedures - cleaning up everything (deleting base & user directories, environment variables, etc) before each time - but still don't manage to get a working installation. Before I report a bug at tex-live#tug, I wanted to ask for advice here, in case I'm doing something wrong. Here is what I did, step by step, and the problems I encountered in the process.
1. First I tried running the recommended online installer install-tl-windows.exe. It never got past the screen that tries to contact or load from a repository, even after a 30-min wait. Tried a dozen times, choosing different mirrors nearby and far away. No luck.
2. Then I downloaded and unpacked the install-tl.zip and run install-tl-windows.bat therein. This time the main installation window appeared. I left all default paths and environment variables (note that I do have write access to C:); in the selection scheme I unselected all languages except US & UK English, unselected XeTeX, LuaTeX, ConTeXt; also unselected TeXworks (I use Emacs), and clicked Install. After one to three hours (depending on the mirror I chose), the installation was complete.
I tried compiling a minimal latex document (see below), and got an error similar to the one in this old question:
I can't find the format file `pdflatex.fmt'
Following the advice in the answers to that question and similar questions elsewhere online such as this, I tried running texhash and fmtutil-sys --all. The latter gave the error
no appropriate script or programme found fmtutil.
for which there are also many posts online.
2a. Not understanding what the problem could be, I re-tried with all possible combinations of the following three options: (a) choosing different mirrors; (b) leaving the full selection of packages (ie without unselecting some languages, LuaTeX etc); (c) redoing the procedure by choosing "Run as Administrator". No luck.
3. At this point I tried downloading the ISO file with the full installation. Mounted the image and run install-tl-windows.bat (as normal user, as recommended; I repeat that I do have write access to C:). Everything proceeded as in step 2. above. At the end of the installation I tried running pdflatex on the minimal latex document. New error this time:
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.141592653-2.6-1.40.22 (TeX Live 2021/W32TeX) (preloaded format=pdflatex)
restricted \write18 enabled.

Very strange. A file search revealed that article.cls is in the TeXLive file system; but kpathsea did not see it indeed.
4. At this point I opened the TeX Live Shell from the Start Menu; selected a CTAN mirror; updated the TL Manager which was not up to date; updated all packages; run Regenerate filename database; and run Regenerate formats. With the latter I got this error:
tex live shell:

I tried to continue anyway with Regenerate fontmaps, and then tried again pdflatex on the minimal document. New error:

5. I tried again steps 3. and 4., but with "Run as Administrator". Same errors.
OK at this point I give up and really don't know what to do. Am I doing something wrong? For the moment I have to concur with this post: installation of TeX Live 2021 is an utter failure.
Here is the minimal latex file I used for testing (copy & paste):
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
test
\section{Section}
test
\end{document}

Cannot activate rust-analyzer: bootstrap error

Starting 2020-12-09, VSCode's Rust Analyzer extension no longer loads for me. On launch, it prints out this error message:
Cannot activate rust-analyzer: bootstrap error. See the logs in "OUTPUT > Rust Analyzer Client" (should open automatically). To enable verbose logs use { "rust-analyzer.trace.extension": true }
Enabling extension tracing produces the following diagnostic just before failing:
INFO [12/10/2020, 10:03:22 AM]: Using server binary at c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\globalStorage\matklad.rust-analyzer\rust-analyzer-windows.exe
DEBUG [12/10/2020, 10:03:22 AM]: Checking availability of a binary at c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\globalStorage\matklad.rust-analyzer\rust-analyzer-windows.exe
DEBUG [12/10/2020, 10:03:22 AM]: c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\globalStorage\matklad.rust-analyzer\rust-analyzer-windows.exe --version: {
status: 3221225506,
signal: null,
output: [ null, '', '' ],
pid: 1648,
stdout: '',
stderr: ''
}
where <user> is the name of the user account I use to log into the system1.
The status value reported in the error diagnostic (3221225506) translates to 0xC0000022 (STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED). Navigating to the binary from within VSCode's integrated terminal and trying to execute rust-analyzer-windows.exe --version doesn't produce any output, which seems to reinstate that running this executable from VSCode is somehow blocked.
It appears that something changed with respect to access rights executing the server binary from within VSCode. In between Rust Analyzer working and Rust Analyzer no longer working I didn't update Rust, nor rustup, nor VSCode, nor any extensions.
I did install 2020-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4592438), though, and the time Rust Analyzer started failing coincides with the time the update got installed. That could literally just be a coincidence.
What additional steps can I take to get to the root cause of the issue, and how do I get Rust Analyzer working again?
Version information:
Rust Analyzer (stable): v0.2.408
Windows 10 Pro: Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042
VSCode: 1.51.1 (user setup)
1 This is also the user account VSCode runs under, including all of its spawned processes. Navigating to the path from a command prompt running under this account reveals that rust-analyzer-windows.exe is present, and executing rust-analyzer-windows.exe --version prints a version identifier, as expected.
Unfortunately, I didn't quite get to investigate the root cause of this.
A system reboot that was forced upon me appears to have restored World Peace.
Clearing proxy config works for me.
I'm not sure this covered all situation, but it might be related to the network.

Qt 5.3.1: macdeployqt tries to include everything on my hard drive; how to fix?

I'm running Qt 5.3.1 on Mac OS X 10.8 and 10.9 I'm trying to use the macdeployqt tool to bundle libraries and plugins with my executable, but it's apparently trying to include everything on my hard drive.
I invoke it with:
/Applications/Qt/5.3.1/5.3/clang_64/bin/macdeployqt /Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app -verbose=2
-qmldir=/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/DesktopPixie
and get lots of normal, expected log messages like:
Log: copy: "/Applications/Qt/5.3.1/5.3/clang_64/qml/QtQuick/Controls/Styles/Base/images" "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/QtQuick/Controls/Styles/Base/images"
...and all runs fine until I start getting messages like:
Log: copy: "" "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums"
ERROR: file copy failed from "/do-gst"
ERROR: to "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums/do-gst"
ERROR: file copy failed from "/rescuepro.properties"
ERROR: to "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums/rescuepro.properties"
ERROR: file copy failed from "/rescuepro34act.lic"
and then the fun begins:
Log: copy: "/Applications" "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums/Applications"
Log: copied: "/Applications/License.rtf"
Log: to "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums/Applications/License.rtf"
Log: copy: "/Applications/0xED-1.0.7.app" "/Users/adamwilt/Desktop/temp/DesktopPixie.app/Contents/Resources/qml/MessageBoxUI/Enums/Applications/0xED-1.0.7.app"
It appears it's trying to copy everything (that is, "") into the app, but I ^C out of it while I still have disk space left!
It didn't do this at first; then it did so for a week; then it stopped; now it's back. This is a distributed development project; I'm doing the QML stuff and folks elsewhere are doing the C++. It's possible the other folks are changing a configuration somewhere that's causing this to occur, but I'm the only one doing Mac deployments, so I'm the only one who sees this.
Is there a config file of some sort for macdeployqt where this might be getting triggered? Or is it more likely a problem related to the C++ object MessageBoxUI, which defines several Q_ENUMs (apparently correctly, as it compiles without warnings or errors, and appears to run properly), since that's the target directory when it starts going mad?
Sussed it (well enough that I can go on):
The Qt app I'm trying to deploy lives in ~/Desktop/temp. If I set my current directory to ~/Desktop or ~/Desktop/temp before I run macdeployqt, it runs as expected.
If I run it from from my home directory ~, or ~/Documents, macdeployqt tries to pull in everything it finds in /Applications, /opt, and/or other directories unassociated with the app.
Setting cwd to most other paths, including ~/Downloads, /Applications, subdirectories of ~/Documents, etc. also seems to work; it's only running macdeployqt from ~ and ~/Documents that causes the problem.
No proper explanation as to why this is happening, but just a warning in case someone else sees this sort of weird behavior: try changing to the apps's location before running macdeployqt.

Code::Blocks debugger shows some other path which isn't included in the project

I'm trying to use code::blocks debugger. I followed this basic tutorial on how to do it. I also watched two videos on you tube. I was actually trying it on a bigger file which had its declaration & implementation in separate files (one was header file tree.h, one had its implementation tree.cpp & the last one had implementation_tree.cpp main function to check the header file) but it didn't work so I tried it on a very simple program. But now debugger shows this error

But now I've removed all the breakpoints & everything related to that file from Code::Blocks & even changed that file's location but it still shows that same address in Starting debugger:. I've also rebuilt my test program after deleting everything related to it several times but I'm still getting the same error. I'm using GDB.
I'm so sorry if this question sounds very silly as I'm trying this for the first time & not being able to proceed through any tutorials or any other forum or anything else. I've also seen other related questions on stackoverflow but none of them works for me. So, please help. Thanks.
