How to install TYPO3 on windows 7 with wampp - windows

I would appreciate if someone can assist me install TYPO3 on Windows wamp server. I have worked on this for some weeks now on both Linux and Windows, but apparently this is something small I am missing.
Here is what I have done on Windows 7, following guidance given on several links I was not able to list in this post:
I have installed wamp and when I start it it shows all services running;
I created my folder "vhost1" in which I put my documents (i.e. in C:\wamp\www\vhost1).
I have copied typo3_src-6-10 (later replaced by typo3_src-8.4.0) into vhost1 and made the following links-mklink /D typo3_src C:\wamp\www\weaconsort\typo3_src\typo3_src-x.x.x \ mklink /D typo3 typo3_src/typo3 \ mklink /D index.php typo3_src/index.php
When I point to "http://localhost/vhost1" in my browser I get "Internal Server Error", but when I point to "http://locahost" I get the index page with my document folder under "Your Projects".
Clicking on my document folder gives me "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
I cannot go further than this.
I have tried to change Document root to "c:/wamp/www/vhost1" in "http.conf", "httpd-ssl.conf and httpd-vhosts.conf, no avail.
Will appreciate any assistance

I have all running on windows 7 with no trouble ... I'm no wizard at all, so first change is that I have xampp installed, no symlinks, I just place in htdocs ...
If you want to go down this road I'll assist you with all questions, I've even got imagemagick up and running:
get rid of wampp (hope you're not using it for other development)
download xampp 1.8.3 and install that
download typo3 (I suggest 7.6.11, because you'll find lots more extensions and I think v8 runs on php7 !!) and place it in htdocs.
rename the folder to a testname, and save an empty file named FIRST_INSTALL in the folder. [directory structure for typo3 installation: rename typo3_src-7.6.11 to testname]
start up xampp and go to 'localhost/phpmyadmin/, create there a database 'testname' (I use collation utf8_general_ci but you can leave that)
now go to 'localhost/testname/' in your browser, and follow the instructions ... (I think you can ignore the warnings at the start), when you arrive at the database select the one just created with user 'root' and blank password.
at the end of the install you'll be asked if you want to start with an empty installation or if you want to fill with the introduction, that's where you insert the package !!
keep me posted and I update my answer to resolve where you stall

Setting up xdebug within Aptana on Docksal site

Bear with me - I'm learning as I go, and this is all new to me. I've set up Docksal on Mac OSX, and added an existing site. I've also got Xdebug installed. In order to use it, it appears I need an IDE. I've installed Aptana (no budget for pay services).
I'm trying to figure out how to set up the debugging within Aptana. I see old instructions from 2013 and older. They get me into the general area, of adding a PHP interpreter. But I'm stumped from here.
I don't know what to put in the Name and executable path (if I'm even in the right place for this) when I search for PHP.exe, nothing comes up. When I search for php.ini, I just find files sitting in unrelated Acquia Dev Desktop projects.
I may have accidentally managed to answer my own question.
In terminal, I first typed php --ini , but this gave me (none).
Next I tried sudo find / -type f -name php.ini
After entering the system password, I get three results:
/usr/local/etc/php/5.6/php.ini
/usr/local/etc/php/7.1/php.ini
/usr/local/php5-7.1.10-20171002-090111/lib/php.ini
Next, for the .exe file path, I typed which php
This gave me /usr/bin/php
So, within Aptana Studio 3, I went to Preferences. In the sidebar file tree I navigated to Aptana Studio > Editors > PHP > PHP Interpreters. Click the "Add" button. (This is where I got to, before realizing I couldn't find those files.
from the results above, I added my info:
In executable path, I placed: /usr/bin/php
In PHP.ini files, I placed: /usr/local/etc/php/7.1/php.ini
Press save, and that part "seems" to be solved. Here's hoping it works. I see errors in the bottom pane of Aptana when viewing a php file - so that's promising.

Error when installing WampServer

hi i am installing wampserver3 addon php 7.0.13 in my computer. Every time i am trying to install i got the following error:-
"The installation folder chosen (%1) in not that of the Wampserver.
Select the installation folder of wampserver."
i am also attaching a screenshot of the following error. kindly help me to resolve this issue.
thanks
That's because you are NOT actually installing WampServer, but its PHP add-on.
If you used Google to find it, you probably downloaded and installed the WampServer PHP add on from Source Forge. It would be named something like wampserver3_x64_addon_php7.0.13.exe
This is NOT what you want.
You can get the actual WampServer install file from the WampServer project site... which leads you to correct file on Source Forge. It would have a name like
wampserver3.0.6_x64_apache2.4.23_mysql5.7.14_php5.6.25-7.0.1
You want to get it from here:
http://www.wampserver.com/en/download-wampserver-64bits/
The response you are getting means that you are trying to install an incomplete version of WAMPSERVER. The incomplete version could be an addon or an extension. Visit wampserver website and click on the version you would like to download. Desist from using download latest button.
Click here to download full version x64
Click here to download full version x86
Because that green button is missleading and you have not downloaded thw Wamp Installer
but the Maria DB Addon (!) check again
You must navigate in sourceforge and select the latest wamp exe and clik on that link so the download will start
Thank you
you probably downloaded the 64bit version when you need the 32bit version.

Where is the src.zip for JDK8u40?

I installed the JDK8u40, but only find the javafx-src.zip.
Where can I find the source code for JDK? The src.zip?
Below is what I get after installation:
And btw, I didn't see the installation wizard! This is quite strange.
ADD 1
Today I tried several Java installation packages. All are downloaded from Oracle official site.
jdk-6u45-windows-i586.exe
jdk-7u75-windows-i586.exe
jdk-8u20-windows-i586.exe
jdk-8u25-windows-i586.exe
jdk-8u31-windows-i586.exe
jdk-8u40-windows-i586.exe
Both 6u45 and 7u75 installed well on my box. I can see the install wizard. And the src.zip is installed.
But 8u25 ~ 8u40 all installed silently. And no src.zip file is installed because I have no chance to select it in the wizard.
I am not sure if this is my fault or someone at Oracle made a mistake.
As #SubOptimal commented, the /s option indicates a silent install. I am wondering if there's an option to force the GUI install wizard to open.
I am using Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Build 7601 SP1
Make sure the Source code is not disabled when downloading.
Then as you can see on the picture, selecting "Source Code" will tell you exactly where it is located.
Notice that I've downloaded the 32 bits version to make sure to reproduce the same use case as you.
Edit
As per your new edits and comments, it seems what you want to know now is why you don't see the installation wizards. I'm pretty sure this is due to old-set registry key.
Run the following command
reg query hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products /f "java" /s | find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Now, navigate to each of the returned path browsing with regedit and delete their entire parent (the big hexa number).
Re-try the installation and I'm pretty sure you will see the wizard.
As for the sources, Oracle documentation specify how to download them in silent mode.
jdk.exe /s ADDLOCAL="SourceFeature"
This is the way I got the src folder from jdk-8u172-windows-x64.exe file without installing.
Step1: Download jdk-8u172-windows-x64.exe file (Java SE Development Kit 8u172) from oracle site
Step2: Extract it and navigate to the path:
\jdk-8u172-windows-x64.rsrc\1033\JAVA_CAB9
Step3: Right click on file named "110" and extract it.
You will get the src.zip file.
It took me little while to figure this out. I hope it will help others.
Enjoy debugging Good Code!
I don't know why/where the src.zip is, but as an alternative, if all you want is the source and somehow the proposed method doesn't work for you, you could always pull directly from the JDK8u40 source tree.
You will need Mercurial instead of Git. This link talks about the hg clone command
Quoting from the OpenJDK Java.net site
The corresponding master forest jdk8u can be cloned using this command: hg clone http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk8u/jdk8u;cd jdk8u;sh get_source.sh .
In addition, the source code for the last release, 8u40, is available by cloning the 8u40 master forest : http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk8u/jdk8u40. The final build of that release was tagged as jdk8u40-b25.
There are differences between OpenJDK and Oracle's, though subtle
download JDK 8 from following link
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/jdk-8-readme-2095712.html
src.zip comes in-built with it
if you JDK installer silently skips installing the source. just open the control panel > programs an features and find Java. Right click on it and select change and then select the
source (option) ;)
Download the JDK
Run the Installer, but stop right away
Extract src.zip from C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\ss180121.cab
You can extract .zip from .cab with tool like 7Zip

installing cygwin: setup.ini missing from http://mirrors.kernel.org

I'm trying to install cygwin on a windows 2008 server. I managed to get a hold of the cygwin setup.exe version 2.721.
Since cygwin.com is down at the moment, i tried several mirrors found through the google cache of the cygwin mirrors. I ran into the same problem like this guy: Help needed installing cygwin: may be ini file problem
Like they suggested, I tried http://mirrors.kernel.org as mirror. It downloads some setup.bz files fine. Then I get the error "Unable to get setup.ini from http://mirrors.kernel.org/". Any suggestions how to install cygwin now?
I got this error when I tried to use http://cygwin.com/setup.exe and not http://cygwin.com/setup-x86.exe or http://cygwin.com/setup-x86_64.exe. It seems the mirrors have just recently removed support for setup.exe. The setup.exe is still available to download but none of the mirrors work.
The solution is to use either the setup-x86.exe or the setup-x86_64.exe.
The mirror should be the full path http://mirrors.kernel.org/sourceware/cygwin
If you get complaints about the .ini being from a newer version of setup, you'll need to find a newer setup.exe somewhere on the net that you trust. (And cygwin guys? Grrr for not including setup.exe in your mirrors and for not signing your exe!)
the reason is so simple:
the setup.ini changed its's location!
just go to cygwin site, download the latest setup.exe file. it will be OK.
While installing, select Install through http/ftp proxy. Firewall may block the installation. Hence, proxy will help. Also try running as Administrator.
It helps..
Regards,
Frank..!!
For those who are still getting this error even with the correct installer, make sure that you're running the setup file on your local hard drive.
My problem was that I was trying to launch the executable from a mapped network drive. Copying down and running the program locally fixed the issue.
Can you use another mirror? Try lug.mtu.edu or something like that. I've always had nothing but good results from there.
Was giving me the same Unable to get setup from ... error.
I used the new setup-x86_64.exe from the Cygwin.org site & had to select the option Use Internet Explorer Proxy Settings.
It fetched the mirror urls.
It worked that way for me.
But, if it does not fetch all the mirrors by itself, we can
add the url http://mirrors.kernel.org in the Download list.
Initially, when it was not downloading the mirrors list by itself, I had tried adding the above http://mirrors.kernel.org url manually & it had worked that way too.
Was facing the Same issue... Run the installer in administrator mode and set the FTP/HTTP proxy to the proxy setting configured in internet explorer. Later if the download doesn't occur try different proxies. Selecting this mirror http://mirrors.kernel.org worked for me.

Symfony2 and Assetics : symlink on Windows 7?

I'm having a hard time using assetics to load resources in my views (I work with Symfony2).
I was working on Linux (Ubuntu 10.4) and switched to Windows 7 a few days ago. I've always been having trouble (some images didn't load for example), but at least most images, and all styles and scripts were loading alright.
When I switched to Windows, some resources weren't loading, so I tried a php app/console assets:install web --symlink
I was quite surprised to see that it had deleted the whole public folder of the bundle I was working on. And there was no way to find the sources again (fortunately, I had saved some of them, and I was able to retrieve most of my work thanks to cached files).
After I've recovered my files (and backed them up), I tried to command again. Same result. I tried without the --symlink and it created some folders in the web/bundle folder, instead of files that were there before (supposedly, the symlinks).
Now the command doesn't even answer anymore (it has been erasing my sources even in some of my backup folders!!).
Bottom-line : is there a way to configure assetics on Windows 7 so that it doesn't eat my files and loads the resources (including images in css) correctly?
Thanks in advance!
Edit :
I just ran the command again and this time it worked (copied the files in web/bundle/...). I must say I don't really understand how or why it worked this time... If by chance anyone knows...
In order to run assets:install web --symlink on a PC you need an elevated command prompt (fancy word for cmd.exe in Administrator mode).
Symfony2 uses the PHP symlink function, according to the docs it should work for Windows Vista, Server 2008 or greater.
By default only Administrators can create symlinks in Windows. So you'll have to use an elevated prompt or give your user the SeCreateSymbolicLinkPrivilege privilege.
You can do it with windows console, but Git Bash is much nicer. Get it and download. Ps. If you never used git before this is the right time to start. :)
When you installed it search in windows programs for git bash and right click it to run as administrator. If you have Git bash opened from the right click in the current folder "git bash here" it wont work because it is not launched by default in administrator mode. If you done this you get this warning.
app/console assets:install web --symlink
Warnings. Hard copy where used instead of symlinks.
However if you play nice and do it as i said. (run as administrator.. you will get everything work nice and smooth.
app/console assets:install web --symlink
Symlinks where created! :) Now you don't need to assets:install every time you made changes to your css files.
Ps. git bash console is nicer then native windows console but... for example Unix system such as Ubuntu would look even better. Also Symfony on Windows with Xamp will run much slower than on Linux Ubuntu system. I am talking about 5x to 20x faster page response on Linux.
You can use configure the composer.json and use forever without any problems, puting in it --symlink.Here is how you can do it.
http://www.w3docs.com/snippets/symfony/how-to-keep-symlinks-in-web-bundles-after-composer-update.html
You can add this configuration option in your composer.json:
{
"extra": {
"symfony-assets-install" : "symlink",
}
}
