Link to table
Hi All,
I am trying mimic the behaviour of Report using Apex and Lightning component. I am able to get subtotal and grandtotal result using GROUP BY ROLLUP(). However I cannot query more that 3 field which are not aggregated. I have 8-9 other fields to show along with subtotal and grandtotal of 4 columns.
I have created a map of records which I have to show on page and there is an aggregated query. Could anybody suggest how to get all these in a wrapper class?
I cannot use Report Builder for this because I have to divide the subtotal with a fix value and show below the subtotal.
You should be able to do what you need with report-level formula.
Create a summary or matrix report (I've picked "Case history"), you should see a new option in the sidebar menu (well, might look bit different in Lightning but you get the idea hopefully)
Drop that formula on the report and it should work pretty neat
Leave a comment under my post if you think this doesn't work for you and you still need code. (would be good to edit your post and include a code sample so we get better idea though)

I have a margins report that I've created that groups by Month, Customer, Sales Type then displays the sales details. I have that basic report working well. The SALTYPE group has four options from the stored procedure that pulls the data, they are A, B, C, D. I've been asked to add grand totals at the bottom of the report for each sales type.
From my research it appears I need to use RunningValues in an expression to generate these totals but I've been unable to find any useful examples. I've tested for the Tot. Sales column using the expression =RunningValue(Fields!TOTSALES.value, sum, "SALTYPE") but it throws an error I'm not sure I'm interpreting correctly, "The Value expression for the text box 'Textbox168' has a scope parameter that is not valid for the aggregate function. The scope parameter must be set to a string constant that is equal to either the name of a containing group, the name of a containing data region, or the name of a dataset". If I understand correctly it's referring to "Tablix1_SALTYPEGroup" but I'm unclear what that should be or if I'm completely off base.
Can anyone provide an example to get those grand totals or point out the flaw in my expression? I've been all through MSDN but primarily been referencing this blog.
So I may be incorrect but it appears they way I had my groups structured and the details sorted it wasn't possible to generate the totals I needed. I resolved this by simply adding a summary Tablix below my first one, using the same data but structured and sorted in a way to easily generate my totals. By sorting the details on the SALTYPE I could then just add a total and hide the details. The result is exactly what I was looking for.
I am wondering if there is a way to limit the number of rows generated from grafana templating.
I can have a drop down variable "$x"on my grafana page and I can select the row editor and say repeat row for every value under $x.
Based on different criteria, I can have x anywhere between 1 and like 160 rows. I need to only be looking at about 10 at a time. I am wondering if I can control the number of rows shown/change the rows shown somewhere in grafana.
I can manually select items from the $x drop down to show only a few items of course, but its a matter of selecting only say.. 10 items right when the page loads.
Please let me know if I am not describing the problem correctly or if I need to clarify more.
Thanks,
Karan
As far as I know there is no direct option for this but there are some ways you may be able to achieve what you want.
You could select your ~10 default entries and then save the dashboard this will save the selected ones in the dashboards JSON. (or modify the JSON of the dashboard directly)
You could use the regex field in the template settings to filter some of your values and split them in groups this way. (one variable per regex group)
You could change your data in elasticsearch in order to use multiple fields where you can split on.
see PR #5616 as #Daniel Lee mentioned
In general I think you get a faster response to this in grafana directly at github.
I need to do something specific in Crystal Report for Visual Studio 2005.
Let's say the following data:
The report regroup the data with the prdCode field, which gives something like this:
Now, I need to add a subtotal everytime one of the 4 first columns changes (Lot / Cédule/ Brand/ Contenant in the report). In this case, I should have a subtotal for the first row (lot=153363 and next one is 171008). Then, another subtotal at the last line of lot=171008 and Cédule = 023854. Then another subtotal at lot=171008 and cédule = 023863, etc.
I have no idea how I can do this. Adding Groups won't help, as I will have 5 group footers display for the first row only. In the case of the above image, I should display only 5 subtotals. A subtotal is the sum of the Total Gross/Tare/Net fields.
Anyone can help me out on this?
thanks for your time and help
Yes you are correct adding 5 groups doesn't solve the issue and also it doesn't make any sense, Instead combine all your fields and create a single group that will seggregate the records as required.
Try following approach.
Create a formula #grouping and write below cide
ToText(Lot)&ToText(Cédule)&Brand&Contenant
Now create a group with this formula and take summary in group footer
newparts_calc
if (([MonthToDateQuery].[G/L Account] = 4200 and [Query1].[G_L_Group] = 'NEW')) THEN ([Credit Amount]-[Debit Amount]) ELSE (0)
Data Item1
total([newparts_calc])
I need Data Item1 to return newparts_calc values only.
So for example in 1st row Data Item1 should be 8,540.8, but is 34,163.2
Whats wrong? how do i fix?
REVISED QUESTION
I apologize for not making sense on the original question.
I have many of the calc's that im trying to gather and put on a crosstab. I want to see sales by month (row) and part category (column)
[Query2] is the one shown in picture above.
It joins [MonthToDateQuery] AND [Query1]
The join is on 'Invoice' and carnality is 1..1 = 1..1
[MonthToDateQuery] is based on the package im working in. General ledger. It supplies the g/l entries for each sales g/l account
[Query1] is a SQL query i brought in to be able to break out categories even further from g/l group.
For example g/l account 4300 is rebuilt. However i needed to break out even further to see Rebuilt-Production and Rebuilt-New. I can do that with the g/l group.
I saw in my g/l account ledger entries that it referenced the invoice number. So thats how i tied in my SQL.
So as you can see from the table below (which is the view tabular data from query) i need a total. I have tried plugging newparts_calc into my crosstab and setting aggregation to total but the numbers still dont seem right. I dont think i have something set as it should be.
All the calc's im doing are based on single or multiple G/L Accounts and single or multiple G/L Groups.
Any Advice?
As you can see the problem seems to be duplicate invoice numbers.
How can i fix?
Couple things come to mind:
-Set the processing order to 2
-Since your calc is always a multiple and you are joining two queries, you may need to check your cardinality. Sometimes it helps to add derived queries to ensure you are working with the correct grain.
I'm obviously missing something, but if you want
I need Data Item1 to return newparts_calc values only.
just use newparts_calc, without total? That would give you proper value for row 1 -)
If you need a running-total for days (sum of values for previous days) — you should use a running_total function.
At a guess, one of your two queries is returning multiple rows for each invoice, which will cause this double counting. Look at the output of the two queries and see if that's happening. If so, then you just need to work out how to collapse that down to one row per invoice.
Per your new question - The underlying data has got to be causing the issue. Its clearly not 1:1 (note that even though this is what your stated cardinality is, Cognos does not enforce 1:1). Invoice number is not unique, GL Group is at a lower level.
After performing a product evaluation by one of the managers other can change the scoring for certain categories. This changes in scoring are stored in the database for reference.
The structure of the evaluation is like this:
Evaluatoin
- Category
- Scoring point
an evaluation can have many categories which all can have many scoring points.
My problem is the following:
If I change a scoring point a few times all is entered in the database but in the reports i am only seeing the first scoring point. The rest of them with the same name are left blank but are using space just as it would if all were visible. The stored procedure that is delivering the data is working fine. It bring all data to the report which then displayes it wrong.
=Fields.CategoryName is working fine... every category name is displayed correctly
=Fields.ScoringPointName is not working... it displayes only the first and leavese all the rest blank... if for example a scoring point name is Product robustnes it would display only the first change of scoring but wouldnt display the rest
Any ideas???
Found out what the problem was. Maybe it will be helpful for other people
I was showing the data in a group header section with grouping =Fields.DefinitionText. Thus it will only repeat if the Fields.DefinitionText is distinct. About the empty space it's caused by the detail section that repeats for every data record. Thus if I want to display all of the data records I have to move the group header section textboxes to the report's detail section.
Here and Here are some usefull things about reporting.
Cheers
