I am trying to get the stack overflow connector to work in Microsoft Teams. Will this question show up?
Edit:
Sometimes it is necessary to demonstrate an entire workflow to corporate influencers. In this case, I was showing how a question posted to StackOverflow will show up in the Microsoft Teams interface using the Connector.
Our internal concerns are:
What account is used in the connector? -- The Team owner logs the
connector into a StackOverflow account.
Is this account personal or
managed by the organization? -- By default it is my personal account,
but StackOverflow has an Enterprise plan.
Where are questions stored that appear in a Team? -- Questions are
posted to the Team's persistent chat and are stored with the chat
data.
Hope this clarifies why this odd question is here. Thank you for your patience.
Will my question show up in Microsoft Teams stack overflow connector?
The answer is yes.
You need install the Stack Overflow App to your Microsoft Teams, then you can connect to Stack Overflow with your SO account.
After logging, you can subscribe to the tags you care about, then you will receive following message:
If the tag you added to the your question is in your tag subscription list, you can see your question in Microsoft Teams, but you could just subscribe to the list of your personal questions.
Hope this helps.

Please forgive this MS Exchange integration 101 question ...
I'm working on a proposal that requires appointments to be inserted, updated and deleted in user's Outlook Calendars. The customer uses an on-prem MS Exchange solution. Sorry, I don't yet know the version but I suspect it's a reasonably late version considering they are a large trading bank.
The EWS Managed API 2.0 seems to meet the project requirements but now I'm reading that parts of that have recently been deprecated (although that seems to only apply to Exchange On-Line).
Is the EWS Managed API the recognized and modern way to integrate with on-prem MS Exchange or should we be considering some other technology. If there's something else we should be considering, could you point me to that please.
Thanks for all help and advice.
Peter,
EWS remains supported (and no current plans to retire it - for on-prem there is no alternative). The EWS Managed API is now open source (so not supported by Microsoft as such, but source code is available from Github: https://github.com/OfficeDev/ews-managed-api).

Building a C# program that will send text messages to customers that opt in to getting text messages. Does anyone know the gateway for Spectrum Mobile?
When I tried to obtain this info from Spectrum Mobile, their "technical" line folks said they do not support MMS --- not true! I just learned and tested these gateways for Spectrum Mobile today:
SMS message: phonenumber#vtext.com (same as Verizon)
MMS message: phonenumber#mypixmessages.com
MMS may be used to send long messages and/or embedded or attached photo from email, and it works just as well as Verizon's MMS for long text messages.
I ran into the same issue with a customer. I called Spectrum but was unable to get through since I am not a customer. I had the customer on Spectrum Mobile do a test on the Verizon gateway and he had success.
From what I have read, Spectrum Mobile uses Verizon predominately and I read that they may also use Sprint towers in some regions. I suggest you test on Verizon's gateway and it doesn't work maybe try Sprint's.
Verizon SMS: xxx-xxx-xxxx#vtext.com
Verizon MMS: xxx-xxx-xxxx#vzwpix.com
Sprint SMS: xxx-xxx-xxxx#messaging.sprintpcs.com
Sprint MMS: xxx-xxx-xxxx#pm.sprint.com
Hope that helps someone else out there.
I just moved from Verizon Wireless to Spectrum Mobile, and was looking for the same information. I checked:
Sprint gateways rejected
Verizon SMS gateway #vtext.com works
Verizon MMS gateway #vzwpix.com DOESN'T WORK
Text only! Very inconvenient.
I'll call them when I have a chance.
Sorry guys... I just called Spectrum and they do not have a SMS service. So, no email to text service with them.
This is bad news for me. My GPS security uses email to send text to my phone for movement alerts. I can't get the text now. UGH.

Ticket Management: OTRS. (I can't change this tool but need to integrate everything to OTRS)
Project Management Tool: Actually I was looking for a good project management tool which can also contains Kanban. Redmine has a plugin for Kanban.
Repository: As repository server I decided to use git with gitLab interface.
Now I'm wondering that is there way to integrate Redmine with OTRS or if my choices are not good for Application Life Cycle, what would you offer which is open source?
In our company we have integrated OTRS and Redmine via emails. Of course such integration cannot be called complete, but we have solved our task: OTRS users and Redmine users can talk each over via their own systems. Someone in Redmine can create an issue and the issue may be forwarded to OTRS.
Some details.
OTRS has ticket ID in e-mail subject like this: [Ticket#2015032394000015] and Redmine - like this: [#123] (i.e. completely different). Small patch for Redmine resolves where is alien ticket ID (OTRS's) and where is own (Redmine's).
Both systems can send and receive e-mails.
Also we use Redmine helpdesk plugin to not spamming OTRS by developer's discussions, status updates etc. For tickets from OTRS "owner-email" field filled by OTRS's emission e-mail address. Subject of the tickets in Redmine should contain OTRS's ticket number. So should be done in OTRS. So the proposed workflow if the tickets initially created in the OTRS will be:
User -> OTRS: problem description
OTRS -> User: auto-response
(... conversation between the user and the support...)
OTRS -> Redmine: claim to developers
Redmine -> OTRS: auto-response with Redmine ticket number. OTRS should update ticket subject using Redmine's ticket ID.
(... conversation between the support and the developer...)
etc.
The crucial thing is to update OTRS ticket's subject in 5-th point.
There are no answers :( it is very interesting question...
Result of my small investigation:
I will put here several links which may be will purtly useful for you:
http://www.redmine.org/boards/2/topics/24573 (contain two useful links on two plugins, but i do not have time for testing these plugins)

I'm working as a Desktop Support Specialists at Day & Zimmerman. Along desktop support I code in a free time.
I would like to become a certified Service-Now Admin.
What are good materials to start learning about Service-Now?
I understand why companies are using Service-Now, how it is used, but I would like to learn how to configure it, configure workflows for Service Catalog requests, create groups to filter tickets between different IT teams, and create UI policies and scripts.
I have a strong JavaScript knowledge.
Thanks
Start reading from Service Now Wiki.Start from get "Get Started".What ever you learn you can practice on demo instances provided by Service Now "https://demo.service-now.com" . In the this link add "001" to "023" after "demo"
It's simple o understand and start from the above.
2.Once you are familiar with the basics then you can go ahead with servicenowguru.com.It has a lot of useful code snippets.
You might already be in the best place to get started - ask some questions here on StackOverflow as there is a growing community of customers, partners and employees happy to help.
The ServiceNow Wiki is the traditional place to start. On the ServiceNow Community there are Learning Center resources.
On Google+ there is another growing community of friendly people to help you get up to speed.[0]. The #ServiceNow Twitter hashtag is very active too.
Lastly - find out how to connect with your local ServiceNow User Group (SNUG)[1]. You can meet other users in your area.
Good luck!

I took two classes that are offered by Service-Now, one is the admin class which is the recommended place to start and then a scripting class. Both were great classes...

It seems that licensing terms would prevent us from using Google Maps API in our software. We would prefer to be absolutely free open source and Google Maps API will require commercial license if our software is sold (correct me if I am wrong - I will delete this question then :-).
So the question is if there are alternative map APIs for GWT?
Openlayers is free software, http://openlayers.org/; it has a GWT plugin here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gwt-openlayers/
As far as Google's License (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html):
10.9 use the Service or Content with any products, systems, or applications
for or in connection with:
(a) real time navigation or route
guidance, including but not limited to
turn-by-turn route guidance that is
synchronized to the position of a
user's sensor-enabled device; (b) any
systems or functions for automatic or
autonomous control of vehicle
behavior; or (c) dispatch, fleet
management, business asset tracking,
or similar enterprise applications
(the Google Maps APIs can be used to
track assets (such as cars, buses or
other vehicles) as long as the
tracking application is made available
to the public without charge. For
example, you may offer a free, public
Maps API Implementation that displays
real-time public transit or other
transportation status information.
If your Maps API Implementation is deployed internally or you are
charging for use of your Maps API
Implementation, please contact the
Google Maps API Premier sales team for
more information);
My advice would be to contact Google and ask them about your specific set of circumstances. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
If you are looking for full open data you might want to check out OpenStreetMap.org they list in their FAQ where they pull their open data from.
I'm not an expert, but a quick google found GWT-Ext, where it looks like they're using OpenStreetMap data which is free to use in a commercial application.
