I was tweaking around with the windows command prompt customization settings and now i can't manage to restore it to default settings. Does anyone know how to get the default setting back? I've looked around on the web and cant seem to find a solution that works.

Export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console before importing. I do not remember changing the properties of CMD but I would not be surprised that I did.
This is my user Default ntuser.dat loaded as a hive in the registry editor. I have edited it so it can be used for the current user (I changed the temp hive name HKEY_USERS\temp2\Console to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console).

Microsoft released Windows terminal as a Microsoft Store app. How to add it to the context menu or replace 'Open Powershell window here' with it ?
There might have been several approaches discussed everywhere, but none of them is up-to-date nor offers flexibility. So I started a new open source project and provided two PowerShell scripts to help.

You can run install.ps1 as administrator in PowerShell 7 to easily add the default layout.
There are other layouts (mini and flat at this moment).
Uninstall the menu items are also easy with uninstall.ps1.
The Win-X Menu shortcuts are stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX and in the Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellCompatibility\InboxApp part of the registry, but the file explorer option is the one that really dictates what happens in the Win-X menu. I do not suggest just adding and changing stuff in the WinX folder because you could mess things up, however, the winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.30 app in the link provides a way in which you wouldn't mess it up. Either way, you should put "%programfiles%\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsTerminal_0.11.1121.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\WindowsTerminal.exe" in either a shortcut in the WinX folder, or in the app named accordingly.

Microsoft RDC on Windows (to open type mstsc in Start -> Run ) saves the history of previous computers you have connected to in the "Computer" dropdown.
How can I clear them, or selfectively delete entries?
This can be done in Regedit
Open Regedit (Windows Key + R >> and then type in regedit >> Enter
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default
Then you can delete the entries starting with MRU and followed by a number.
The above registry will only store the 10 most recent unique connections, so navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Server and deleting all the folders under Server will fully clear the history.
You may not be able to remove the last typed in location, it wont be in the list but it will be in the Computer: text field.

I do not know if this is possible (I suspect that it isn't), but can you change the default program for a file type for only a specific folder and the folder's sub-folders in Windows 7?
What I am trying to do is set the html files in a specific folder to open in Notepad++ by default, and everywhere else, open in Chrome (which is the current default).
I do know how to change the global default program for a file extension, but that is not what I am trying to do in this case.

The registry cant be customised for an individual folder it is all or nothing.

How to put ConEmu in context menu in windows 7, when click on folder to be able to choose Open in ConEmu?
Configure it like this:
Settings → Integration (or Settings → Features → Integration in older versions)
Set up the ConEmu Here group (don't misuse ConEmu Inside) and press the Register button.
These options are stored in the registry (Explorer related keys) and that's why these settings are not stored the ConEmu configuration, so the Save settings button is useless on that particular page.

some program (sort of malware) is running on my windows 7 at startup, but my startup folder is empty (even after removing the hidden and system attrib of all the programs in the folder). But msconfig shows the script that was running.
This means that programs can run on startup without actually being in the startup folder.
Please help me by explaining, how these softwares do this, or any concept of startup that i am missing?

Add a new startup application
Open your registry and find the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run].
For each program you want to start automatically create a new string value using a descriptive name, and set the value of the string to the program executable.
For example, to automatically start Notepad, add a new entry of "Notepad"="c:\windows\notepad.exe".
Goto MSCONFIG and Remove the check mark for that particular App. then you are good go
