Microsoft RDC on Windows (to open type mstsc in Start -> Run ) saves the history of previous computers you have connected to in the "Computer" dropdown.
How can I clear them, or selfectively delete entries?
This can be done in Regedit
Open Regedit (Windows Key + R >> and then type in regedit >> Enter
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default
Then you can delete the entries starting with MRU and followed by a number.
The above registry will only store the 10 most recent unique connections, so navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Server and deleting all the folders under Server will fully clear the history.
You may not be able to remove the last typed in location, it wont be in the list but it will be in the Computer: text field.
You could also use this FixtIt tool from Microsoft:

I tried deleting my last microsoft account because it had an email I no longer had access to. I now have a new 'main' account on my windows 10 PC. But somehow the old account still exists and takes up a lot of space from my disk. I can't see the files of the old account in my explorer, so I can't delete them but they do take up disk space. As you can see in the pictures below, it says that nearly all 250 GB of my disk are used according to the explorer. But if I check how much actual disk space should be used with WinDirStat it only says I have files that are 91.4GB on my hard drive. Any tips would be welcome.
You say that you are using WinDirStat. You can use WinDirStat to remove the directories which take too much space. In case this does not work, you can launch WinDirStat as administrator: as an administrator you have access to all files on your computer (right-click and mention "Als Administrator uitvoeren").

As the result of some missteps in setting up a new Windows PC, I now have just a local account. I have no Administrator account and I can not do any management actions. So now I want to do a reset to get back to the original OS state. I have a Recovery Drive with system files that I made when I first unboxed the new computer. I can boot from that but I can't continue the Reset without the missing Administrator password. Is there some way to activate the Reset from the Recovery Drive?
If it's a new pc, why not wipe the whole hard drive and reinstall windows?
If it was a pre-built PC most of the times they come with its own 'recovery' partition which you can boot from and reinstall/etc.
Have you tried that?

I was tweaking around with the windows command prompt customization settings and now i can't manage to restore it to default settings. Does anyone know how to get the default setting back? I've looked around on the web and cant seem to find a solution that works.
Windows 10 64-bit
Export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console before importing. I do not remember changing the properties of CMD but I would not be surprised that I did.
This is my user Default ntuser.dat loaded as a hive in the registry editor. I have edited it so it can be used for the current user (I changed the temp hive name HKEY_USERS\temp2\Console to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console).

when i turn on my laptop a dialog box opens
asking me to how to open the file. It comes after logging into my wn10 user account. It comes before i start any programs. At first i was ignoring this but wen i select notepad from the list and viewed it this was shown.
I dont know what it is or y it is happenining, i have done nothing related to this. how to stop this?
Normally is when a file named with your username is created. You need just to delete it and it'll be ok. It is located in your Users folder. Follow one of these links if you don't find its location: first link and second link.

I'd like to start a batch file when I log on with a specific account. The problem is, that specific account doesn't have the right to copy to the Startup folder, or install anything on the machine (Windows 7). How can I achieve this?
If you don't have those rights then you can use Task Scheduler. Open start and start to type "task" and you'll see that program. Open it and click "Create Basic Task". Type the name and a desciption. Click next and choose "When I log on". Click next and choose "Start a program". After that, browse your batch file location and add the arguments if necessary.
