OracleSetviceSID stops itself - oracle

I have oracle 10.2.0.4 version..Some days before everything was well..but after changing tnsnames.ora file(I had just one SID of database, which is located on my computer. Then I have added SIDs of other databases which are located on another servers) OracleServiceSID stops itself after a while and user is automatically disconnected...How to solve this problem?I want OracleServiceSID to remain started...

After searching on the internet I found the following:
Start->All Programs->Oracle..->Configuration and Migration Tools->Administration Assistant for Windows
Collapse the following folders:
Oracle Managed Objects->Computers->Comp_name->Databases->SID<-right click->Start Service
File->Save
And after that everything works fine...Maybe It is a solution or temporary solution..Not sure..

You should need to investigate why this issue occurred to prevent this issue in future too. Check event viewer for further investigation of issue.

SQL Developer - Add new connection is greyed out

suddenly, my SQL Developer turned off, i can't add any connection to connect to my work remote databases, i tried to factory reset the views, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. still can't figure out how to fix it !
Your connections.json file has probably been corrupted.
You can find that file and try to repair it yourself, OR you can rename it to something else, and when SQLDev starts up, it'll give you a default connection panel, but no connections in it, you'll start from scratch.
Older copies of sqldev will have a connections.xml.
Found the solution, i needed to configure the JDK under AppData\Roaming\sqldeveloper\21.4.1\product.conf
"SetJavaHome C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_301"

Error saving workspace in ColdFusion Builder

Suddenly I'm getting an odd error popping up every few minutes.
'Periodic workspace save.' has encountered a problem.
Could not write workspace metadata '{workspace}.metadata.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources.snap'.
I've checked and the file is there. It's not marked "read-only".
Nothing's changed recently. I am on a Citrix VM running Windows 7 and my workspace is on a mapped drive. However, this setup has been running fine for over a year.
Any ideas?
I ended up creating a new workspace and moving my projects over there. Fortunately there weren't many (nor did I have too many snippets) and I could recustomize the way I wanted.
This is not a very good solution, however, and I'd love to see a better way to fix this issue.

ClassNotFoundException when dragging and dropping MBO [Sybase]

I have pinged successfully and managed to connect to the Microsoft SQL server, however when I tried to drag and drop a MBO into the diagram, it's giving the error as below.
I have downloaded sqljdbc4.jar and sqljdbc.jar and put them in the folder listed below(at the server side and my local copy) as advised in other threads / forum.
I have also restarted the Sybase Unwired Platform Services and restarted the server but to no avail. Any help to solve this error would be appreciated.
C:\sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Unwired_WorkSpace\Eclipse\sybase_workspace\mobile\eclipse\plugins\com.sybase.uep.com.sqlserver_2.1.0.201109131337\lib
C:\sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\lib\3rdparty
I have managed to solve it by putting the sqljdbc4.jar in this folder.
C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\MobileSDK213\Unwired_WorkSpace\Eclipse\sybase_workspace\mobile\eclipse\plugins\com.sybase.uep.com.sqlserver_2.1.3.201207271225\lib\

Installing and creating instance of SQL Server 2012

I am running SQLManagementStudio_x86_2012_ENU.exe to install SQL Server 2012. I came across a problem and I was hunged on it too long.
I have seen the same problem in SO and they are give a solution for that. I also over come that problem but again stuck again in half way through. So I am going to ask this again(not a spam)
Problem: When I ran above mentioned exe it was installed fine, Then I tried to create a instance of the server. I used SQL Server Installation Center in configuration tools. then I selected new SQL Server and it asks me to select the SQL Server Installation Media. I selected C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server but it was invalied.
then I figured out that it is asking for the Installation media itself. So I extracted the .exe file to a folder and selected that path. that was taken as a valid media.
I refered to this link.
some have mentioned that this was a bug here.
when I clicked next it gives the following error. so that I can not proceed and create a instance. Can some one help me on this.
thanks in advance.
I have tried lot of things to come up with a solution for this. As you can see in the picture, there are only 2 check boxes which are already checked and disabled. This is not the right .exe file to run(I was unable to create a server instance using this). I downloaded the right SQL server installation file from here.
There are several .exe files that gives different functionality enhancements. I chose SQL server with tools which is about 1GB. I did not have to uninstall the existing sql server installation. I installed this and it worked fine. I will post back if I found a way to create a SQL server form the given installation. If you have the same problem as described above, most probably you are using the wrong .exe file.
Good luck with your fix.

Windows Azure - The current service model is out of sync

When I run a Windows Azure web role on my local developer fabric, I get the following error:
The current service model is out of sync. Make sure both the service configuration and definition files are valid.
One of my colleagues hit this issue and after a bit of playing about, the problem was that the two service configuration files (cloud and local) had a different number of Settings.
When he updated the configuration files so that they were in sync it all worked.
A tip would be to use the GUI in Visual Studio to add new settings to both at the same time. The GUI can be accessed by right clicking the web role and selection properties. This should open up a window. Click the Settings tab on the left.
For me, this was caused by my azure project having been copied from one PC to another (going from Win 7 to Win 8.1 in the process). I am using VS 2013 Community edition on both, but I had upgraded from Azure 2.4 on Win7 to Azure 2.5 on the Win 8.1 machine.
If you unload the azure project and edit the csproj file, you just need to make a small edit (e.g. adding a comment) and save it, so it re-writes itself. This fixed it in my case (where I'd spent ages checking for errors in the CSDEF and CSCFG files). Once I re-saved the csproj file, it worked fine.
This happened to me because one of my cloud configuration files (.cscfg) was missing some key-value pairs that were defined in ServiceDefinition.csdef.
Going over the files manually was a pain. There's an easy way to discover the descrepancies:
In the Solution Explorer, right-click one of the Roles that make up
your Cloud Service and click 'Properties' in the context menu.
The Role properties window will open up grey with an error message saying:
"Invalid Service Definition or service configuration. Please see the
Error List for more details".
Open the Error List window and in some cases you
should be able to see a list of the specific discrepancies, complete with file
and property names.
I followed all the answers here and it still didn't work
eventually I restarted Visual Studio and it worked.
I believe the solution was the combination of one or more of the answers here + restarting VS.
What worked for me was to:
Make sure the Cloud Services .cscfg and .Local.cscfg files were identical (unless you need your Local.cscfg to have some differences for debugging purposes),
Make sure the .csdef file had definitions that matched the .cscfg files, and then
Close the project and delete its Cloud Services .ccproj.user file.
After reloading the project, all was well.
The error can occour when there is no actual fault in the service configurations.
If it occours and everything seems to be correct, instead of restarting visual studio, simply unload the azurecloud project (rightclick: unload proecjt
Please cross check your ServiceConfiguration.Cloud.cscfg and ServiceConfiguration.Local.cscfg files. My problem was, I added a configuration to Local.cscfg but forgot to add the same to Cloud.cscfg
Had this issue - no errors though. I have found that for some bizarre reason the if the setting:
<Setting name="Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString" value="UseDevelopmentStorage=true" />
was commented out, then the workerrole would not launch.
For me, the issue turned out to be an inconsistency between the vmName value I had assigned to one of my roles in my various environments. I have a *.cscfg files for my development, test, and production environments. Each of these had a role definition that was supposed to be along the lines of
<Role name="HardWorker" vmName="SomeName">...</Role>
but one had an entry like
<Role name="HardWorker" vmName="SomeOtherName">...</Role>
and that, apparently, was enough to trigger the error.
My problem was incorrect certificate definition in csdef file.
For me the problem was that the Wifi I was using blocked the PORT Azure is using, changing Wifi solved that problem.
