Error saving workspace in ColdFusion Builder - coldfusionbuilder

Suddenly I'm getting an odd error popping up every few minutes.
'Periodic workspace save.' has encountered a problem.
Could not write workspace metadata '{workspace}.metadata.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources.snap'.
I've checked and the file is there. It's not marked "read-only".
Nothing's changed recently. I am on a Citrix VM running Windows 7 and my workspace is on a mapped drive. However, this setup has been running fine for over a year.
Any ideas?

I ended up creating a new workspace and moving my projects over there. Fortunately there weren't many (nor did I have too many snippets) and I could recustomize the way I wanted.
This is not a very good solution, however, and I'd love to see a better way to fix this issue.

TFS Check-in oddity causes file to become a different file entirely

I'm trying to figure out the root cause of a strange TFS error we are seeing in our current instance. It wasn't noticed until after a server move, but I'm not sure if they're directly related, because the error seems to be showing up for check-ins about a week prior to the move, as well as all those following it.
We first noticed the problem when I tried to get latest, and got several errors indicating:
"The downloaded file is corrupt. Please get the file again."
Upon looking into the error, we have noticed that starting as of a single check-in every code update has resulted in files being replaced with the contents of other files, ranging from project files to binary executable files (presumably assembly DLLs), rather than the expected content which is still present on our local development machines.
I don't have admin access to the servers myself, but am looking for ideas on possible causes and/or fixes for our team to investigate.
After weeks of searching, I finally found another mention of this sort of thing happening, along with a solution that appears to have worked.
Clear the Application Tier cache.

AnyLogic PLE v8.76 quit unexpectedly when launching on mac

I use AnyLogic PLE v8.76 on mac. It worked fine for a week, but today I got problem launching the software. I keep getting this message:
And this is the error shown:
I tried to download Anylogic again, but I still got the same problem...
I did not download any other softwares or change things on my mac.
Can somebody help me?
Thank you!
Best option, as often advised by the AnyLogic support team, is to clear the workspace.
Try the following:
Make hidden files and folders visible on your Mac - cmd+shit+.
Navigate to your user folder (Either from he side bar, or Macintosh HD -> Users->(yourname)
Find the .AnyLogic... folder, on mine it is called .AnyLogicProffesional
Delete the following two folders workspace8.x and configuiration8.x where the 8.x indicates your version number of the currently installed AnyLogic version.
These files keep settings and the currently loaded models on the disk and will remain even if you download a new version of AnyLogic, which is why downloading a new version does not always solve these kinds of problems.
If the issue still persists contact support, they might ask you to send the error report you got from your Mac (so copy and paste it to a document the next time you get it) as well as some error logs that get stored in these hidden files and folders. (Now you at least know where to find them ;-) )
If my solution did not provide the answer, please add an answer if you manage to find it.

Visual Studio 2015 can't open project.exe for writing. Access to path denied

I am developing a VB.NET (4.5 framework) solution in Visual Studio 2015, Win10 OS, and have been able to run the builds uninhibited for several months, but now I am receiving the following error upon starting the build:
vbc : error BC2012: can't open
'C:\MyProject\ProjR5\ProjR5\obj\Debug\ProjR5.exe' for writing: Access
to the path 'C:\MyProj\ProjR5\ProjR5\obj\Debug\GenTagR5.exe' is
denied.
At first, VS2015 would give me the option to run the last successful build, but even that is no longer an option. After exhaustive internet searches on this problem, none of the dozen or so given solutions are solving my issue.
Here is what I have tried in order to resolve the error so far:
Ran sfc /scannow (elevated prompt)
Using ProcessExplorer, find handle or DLL substring that included my project
Made sure there were no hanging procs (including procs with my project name, devenv.exe, [project].exe, [myproject].vhost.exe, etc.)
Restarted VS2015
Restarted VS2015, running "as Administrator"
Restarted Computer
Full Shutdown of computer
Complete Rebuild of Solution
Build->Clean Solution
Build->Clean Solution, then Build->Build Solution
Build->Rebuild Solution
Uninstalled and Reinstalled VS2015
Disabled all indexing
Removed "Read Only" attribute from entire project folder and files within
Checked startup scripts for like- or identical processes
Disabled all AV apps
Disabled all antispyware apps
Disabled all firewalls
Verified that Application Experience (services.msc) wasn't disabled (I'm using
Win10 ... it isn't even in the list of services)
Set Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->Build and Run->Max. parallel
builds to 1
Rerun aspnet_regiis.exe (under .NET\Framework)
Checked Local Security Policies and verified account was listed under
"Impersonate a client after authentication"
Removed \bin and \obj folders
Put \bin and \obj back when removing them didn't help
Removed \bin and \obj folders, then Rebuilt
None of these have worked. Any suggestions?
The problem ended up being Samsung Magician's Rapid Mode losing data during its write-caching phase to my solid state drive. I turned off Rapid Mode, and now the project builds without any problems.
Sorry for came too late, but i had this problem and i wanted to show how i fixed for the next devs who need a solution:
It's quite simple, just change your proyect assembly name:1) On your solution explorer: Right click on your proyect.
2) Properties>> aplication>> assembly name>> change it.
3) Compile, run to test it.
4) Change the name again if u wanted the original name.
Adding a description:
Changin the assembly name
New 2 programing in VS but i had same problem of Access or Write exe file ON BUILD.
Problem came out of nowhere. I didn't use or make changes 2 exe file in months,
made exe file, used it now and then and forgot about it....
Then after few months i wanted 2 start exe but no icon on desktop ??? ....tried everything, lost 3 days of searching inside code for error in VS and then called Google....
I read last comment ABOVE which mentioned Bitdefender, opened it and found BitD did block and isolate exe files ..... so i tried exluding files and folders which made problems inside BitD but no help....
So i went back 2 VS.
Within debug i got some X86 processor error which didnt make problem to build but it was warning (free component name in error description helped me ), - errors you can ignore but they are here on build ....
So i made last move before starting it all over again. Removed COMPONENT from application, deleted it on PC ...started VS from start .. and ALL was OK !!!
So in my case it was all about FREE component i used in app inside VS .... Bitdefender found some add / virus in it and blocked build progress.
BitD deleted or blocked exe file in start....
Hope this help anyone with similar problem !
The cause of this error for me was that Team Foundation Server had pulled in a bunch of files to my work space as Read-only. Not sure why it pulled them down from the server with read-only checked, but all I had to do was uncheck it.
Ok. Create a new solution and add its directories to the exception list and copy all your work, except for the '.vbproj' and except for the '.csproj' and the directory files to the directory of the directory of the new solution. I have tried that and it works, due that I have Bitdefender, it will be the only way to sort that issue. After doing so, try to build the app again. If it does not work, then I am definitely out of ideas.

Unable to access Temp files while debugging winForms project in Visual Studios 2010

I have several programs that I have created in vb.net visual studios 2010. I have been working on these programs for months with no problems. Recently I started having an issue where I can no longer access my temp directory while debugging within VS. I can't use My.Settings anymore because these use those temp files. This is the error I get:
Failed to save settings: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PROGNAME\PROGNAME.exe_Url_gty0snnfox5ji5xgprklljwb0e0mthek\1.0.0.0\nl3u0fw2.tmp'. (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PROGNAME\PROGNAME.exe_Url_gty0snnfox5ji5xgprklljwb0e0mthek\1.0.0.0\user.config)*
This file is there though.
I also get an error when trying to use my web services. I get this error:
Access to the temp directory is denied. Identity 'DOMAIN\Username' under which XmlSerializer is running does not have sufficient permission to access the temp directory. CodeDom will use the user account the process is using to do the compilation, so if the user doesnt have access to system temp directory, you will not be able to compile. Use Path.GetTempPath() API to find out the temp directory location.*
I used the Path.GetTempPath() as the error says and I am trying to access: >"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\"
I have tried going to these folders and making sure that I have the security set to allow everyone complete control. I believe it is a problem with VS not my program because I get the same problem on all of my programs, some of which I haven't opened in months. I did a repair on VS.
I can't think of what might have changed to cause this to stop working all of a sudden. I traveled to a customers facility where I had to change some network settings, but everything should be set back as it was now. My temporary security certificate expired, but I created a new one and now the certificate I am using to sign these applications is in my trusted root on certificate manager and looks to be valid. I should also mention that this is a clickonce deployment and the deployement works fine on my computer and others, it is only while debugging that I have these issues.
I have been running this down for weeks and spent countless hours looking for a solution and have come to a brick wall. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks ahead of time for your help and time! Please let me know if I can clarify anything.
It turns out that the problem was coming from the fact that somehow one of the folders in the filepath to my user.config file got changed. Somehow a .vshost got thrown in on one of the folder names. I still have no idea how this happened and what caused this to happen, and I am not 100% sure that I have gotten to the real root of the problem, but for now, I am able to debug again. I changed the file name back to what it was supposed to be and the errors have stopped. Now lets just hope the file name doesn't get changed back again.

Xcode cannot save file

I am on Mac OS X 10.6.8 using Xcode 4 with Cocos2D.
The other day, I got an error message out of the blue when trying to run my project:
The document "MainMenuScene.m" could not be saved.
I tried the following, none of which has worked:
replacing the file
creating a new one and renaming it (which I could not rename it. I was told I didn't have permission)
creating a whole new project and reading the files/copy pasting the code in
opening Disk Utilities and running Repair Risk Permissions (which works again once, but then reverts back).
I sometimes get the off chance and the file does save, but reverts back to not saving again.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
I had this issue with a project on an external ssd. Disconnecting the ssd and reconnecting fixed it for me.
In short:
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
See the full conversation in the comments, but this ended up being solved. Moving what was suggested/asked here for clarity and closure.
Is that the full error? Also, are you saving it on a USB or your HD?
Are you an admin on your computer, etc? Have you tried to move the project completely, or copy and try to work on it from somewhere else? With the currently given information I cant think of anything that would cause that kind of problem. What has changed since you were last able to edit and save without issues?
Glad we got it figured out!
-Karoly
Have you tried just moving the file? That'll probably do it.
