Is there a good free printer driver for printing something to PNG (or maybe even SVG) for Windows (I use 7 64bit)? I've got this site with some statistics and it displays this cool graph. It's got an embed feature, but that's using flash. I want to put this graph on my blog, but I don't want to use flash for mobile browser reasons. This site also supports printing the graph. So what I thought I would do is print the graph to a PNG or SVG file and use the picture.
I've been searching around and I can't really find anything good or I'm just not typing in the correct keywords. Either way if you know of a good printer-to-file please share. Or if you see any other way.
BTW: Can smart phones even handle SVGs?

Try PDFCreator, it's free/opensource and allows saving as SVG, PDF etc...
Yes, most smartphones can handle svg, the browser on the iphone does for example, and if you install Opera Mini (available for most phones) you can view svg just fine. Opera Mobile and the mobile version of Firefox for Android also supports SVG. The exception is the default browser on Android 2.3 and below, which doesn't support SVG currently.

Print to PostScript then use either Cairo or ImageMagick to convert it to PNG or SVG.

is there a library with source can be used to read images with different formats?
The library:
is very thin, not like OpenCV with so much code,
is able to read bmp, png, jpeg files,
is self-contained,
does not depend on operating system,
is written using pure c/c++.
is open souce.
Please help me.
Yes, I would suggest CImg - it is a single header file with no libraries to link. It is here.
If you add the following flags to your compilation command, it uses its own built-in routines rather than depending on ImageMagick, for example:
gcc -Dcimg_use_png -Dcimg_use_jpeg -Dcimg_use_tiff -Dcimg_use_curl ...
Additionally, if you define cimg_display as one of the following values, you can get certain advantages:
0 - you cannot natively display anything, but you do not require X11, or GDI to compile and link against - this is great on embedded hardware
1 - you can use X11 for displaying images easily
2 - you can use Windows GDI to display images.
You can find related questions/answers on StackOverflow by putting [cimg] as well as any other terms you want to search for in the search box at top-right of this screen.
Another option would be libvips - it is significantly faster and lower memory overhead than CImg, but maybe not as pure C++ (IMHO).

I am working on a WP7.5 application where I have to download multiple images
and show them in a list.
The images may be PNG, JPEG, or GIF.
For the first two extensions its not a problem, but as we know,
to show/play a GIF image on WP7, there are some other libraries or controls.
(I tried using ImageTools http://imagetools.codeplex.com/; and it worked fine.
But the control it provide cannot render images other than GIF (or may be I didn't found the way).
Is there any tool or custom control or API which can render all types of images, so that no matter what extension it is, the image is showed?
WP7 uses silverlight and silverlight doesn't support GIF images.
Please check these links for information regarding the same. http://forums.silverlight.net/p/39235/112333.aspx

I want to write a program that will generate random notes and draw them on the screen on a staff. I want to use Cocoa or Cocoa Touch. What's the best way to go about displaying the notes? Should I somehow use a music font, or pngs of each note, or what? Are there any good tutorials or sources of info out there on this topic?
I would be very tempted to use a custom music font and render it using the new ability in iOS4 to import custom fonts (I'm pretty sure it's iOS4 in general, and not just the iPad). I also assume that the entirety of CoreText is available on the mac too, but even if not, I'm sure the code wouldn't be vastly different.
Anyway, you can read about loading custom fonts here;

Or the slightly more hardcore way here;

I'm looking for a Windows library/SDK that will allow me to do the following:
Display video from a network stream
Draw 2D elements on the displayed image in real time, such as lines, circles, text, etc.
Use it in a commercial application (I don't mind paying for it)
I'm willing to use any programming language or environment so there's no specific requirement, except for the Windows OS.
Which library/SDK would you recommend considering the requirements from above?
You can use the VLC one to display video from a network stream.
For 2D elements you can use the Qt framework.
In addition VLC is developped with Qt. So sure to not have problem by using VLC and Qt in your project.
I tried many solutions and found that the best one for me is to use WPF with WPF MediaKit. A video element is placed inside a Canvas, which makes it possible to add other graphic elements on top of the video (basically every WPF UI element).
Although I really tried, I couldn't draw on VLC video using QGraphicsView.

Is there any free tool available for creating and editing PNG Images?
Paint.NET will create and edit PNGs with gusto. It's an excellent program in many respects. It's free as in beer and speech.
The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).
It's free, open source and runs on Windows and Linux (and maybe Mac?).
I use Pixlr - an online photo editor, it has great filters and user friendly interface.
Inkscape is a vector drawing program that exports PNG images. So, you end up editing SVG documents and exporting them to PNGs. Inkscape is good if you're starting from scratch, but wouldn't be ideal if you just want to edit existing PNGs.
Note--Inkscape is open source and available for free on multiple platforms.
ImageMagick and GD can handle PNGs too; heck, you could even do stuff with nothing but gdk-pixbuf. Are you looking for a graphical editor, or scriptable/embeddable libraries?
