Remote Debugging in VisualStudio with msvsmon.exe - visual-studio

When remote debugging on a remote web server you need to have the remote debugging tools from Visual Studio installed on the web server.
Is it possible to run multiple versions of the msvsmon.exe at the same time?
How do people handle the case where some of the developers are running Visual Studio 2008 and others are useing 2010?

Team server 2008 r2 connect to visual studio 2012 with extensions added

I want to be able to connect to Team Server 2008 r2 to the Visual Studio.net 2012 that I installed on my workstation today. So far I am having problems.
I am making this change since I want to upgrade all my .net applications to using Visual Studio 2012.
Right now all my solution files have TFS attached to them since I loaded the solution files into TFS previously using Visual Studio 2010.
I have downloaded the plugin for Team server to install on my computer and I am advised that the plugin is installed on my computer. When I am in visual studio 2012 and I click on toos-->options-->source control and I get no options to select.
Thus can you tell me what you suggest that I do to solve my problem?

Is it possible to remote debug Windows 8 with VS 2010?

I am using VS 2010 and trying to remote debug a Window 8 machine. I can't find a VS 2010 remote debugger stub compatible with Window 8. Is it possible to remote debug Window 8 with VS 2010 or must I upgrade to VS 2012?
Windows 8 applications can only be created/debugged with Visual Studio 2012 or newer.

Actually it is possible.
Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Remote Debugger Tools on the Windows 8 client

Each time you open msvsmon.exe, it tries to use Windows Authentication. You need to disable this when opening, with this command;
msvsmon.exe /noauth /nosecuritywarn

Block development server window

Is there any way to avoid the window of development server? (Not stopping or avoiding to run the development server, just the window).
In Visual Studio 2010 (and before) it only appears when the development server was started. Now, in Visual Studio 2012 it is opened each time the project start, no matter if the development server has already started and you have closed it.
I've found that I can run projects using IIS Express. Also it will make our lives easier when we want to be able to access to the project running from other PC.
With Visual Studio 2012 it comes already installed (in fact is the default setting for projects started in it). With Visual Studio 2010 it can be installed (see post).

installing VS2010 express on server

Visual Studio 2010, C#, ASP.NET & SQL Server 2008 are my main development tools, recently I've bought a VDS (virtual dedicated server) which runs on Win server 2008 R2, my vendor has install SQL server 2008 express on my server, but I'm going to have VS2010 on my server also, as I think running and debugging my web apps on server would be much faster and easier than remote tests, is it possible at all to use VS2010 and code in my server? I can use remote desktop to view my server so I think it should be possible.
I use VS2010 ultimate on my local machine, what is the difference between VS2010 express and ultimate as I've that VS express is free of charge, so it is easy to download and install it on server
what should I do now? guide me please
You can also use remote debugging. Depending on how much control you have on your server you may be able to get it working. In Visual Studio when you choose Debug -> Attach To Process it allows you to specify a remote machine to connect to. On the remote machine you'd connect to the w3wp.exe process associated with your AppPool. If you went this route you would not need Visual Studio on your production machine.
I do not know the details of your situation but why would you want to debug your application on your (production) server? That is what your development environment (local machine) is for. Once you are satisfied with your local build you deploy it to your server.

Visual Studio 2008 remote debugging disabled? (no "Remote" transport)

has anyone seen this happen before? I need to do remote debugging but don't seem to have the option to use it. When I load Visual Studio 2008 and go into the Tools > Attach to Process menu, the only Transport that is listed (first dropdown) is "Default". That means that I can't switch to the "Remote (Native Only)" transport I would use to do remote debugging.
Am I missing some permissions? Does my version not support remote debugging? I've spent an hour searching Google for any reason why it might not appear......
My version info:
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
- Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 SP1
- Installed Edition: Standard
Thanks!
Remote debugging is only available on the Pro and Team version of Visual Studio 2008.
