Webmatrix error when creating new site from folder "MACHINE/REDIRECTION" - windows

I'm experiencing an error when creating a new site from a folder with Webmatrix.
I've used it for months now and i never had a problem with it, but yesterday when i went for create a new site i got this error with no other explanation:
ERROR
Cannot find configuration file 'MACHINE/REDIRECTION'.
I actually have no idea what caused it and what it is about, i tried looking in the configuration file of IIS Express installed with it but couldn't find anything related to it, even searching with google gave me no useful answer.

It seems redirection.config file that is supposed to be present in the %userprofile%\documents\iisexpress\config\ folder is either doesn't exist or it is corrupted. You have two options.
Option-1:
1.Copy redirection.config file from %programfiles%\IIS Express\config\templates\PersonalWebServer (or %programfiles(x86)\iis express\config\templates\personalwebserver) to %userprofile%\documents\iisexpress\config\
2.Restart webmatrix
Option-2:
1.Rename iisexpress folder located in %userprofile%\documents\
2.Restart WebMatrix
Note: If you follow option-2 steps you may not see websites that were created recently.

Getting a "vspscc could not be found in your workspace, or you do not have permission to access it" error

Today, while trying to publish an app so I could test it, I suddenly got this error message:
The item
D:\ScratchSrc\TryNewReportViewer2017\TryNewReportViewer2017\TryNewReportViewer2017.csproj.vspscc
could not be found in your workspace, or you do not have permission to
access it.
That's a mystery to me, as I've never gotten this before and I was working with this app just last week. Publishing it, too.
I've looked for the .vspscc file. Found it exactly where it said it should be. So, the alternative is that I don't have permissions to it. I don't understand why I shouldn't have permissions to a file on my machine that I created, but whatever. So, how do I get permissions to my own file?
I'm working with VS 2017, TFS 2015 on premise.
This issue may due to the wrong source control binding for that specific xx.vspscc file.
Double check your source control bindings for that file in TFS. You could also try to unbind and rebind the file.
Then delete the file in local(back up local changes first) and get latest version from TFS. Finally do the publish again.
If above solution is still not working, try to delete local workspace and create a new one, get latest version of the file, modify the file with local changes (if you have) in your backup , check in the file, then do the publish .
Another reason for this problem is, that the vspscc file is not checked in.
Just do a "Compare" on the project folder to see, if it's missing.
If the csproj.vspscc is missing you can create a new one by removing the project in visual studio and adding it back
I was able to 'fix' the problem by going to the source control explorer, selecting the smproj file (which was checked out for editing), and checked it in by itself. Then, I checked in the Model.bim. Was able to do both of these things without getting the error.
I also tried all the usual things, deleting the entire solution directory, getting it from TFS again but nothing worked.
Noticed the version of Visual Studio 2019 was a few months old so upgraded to the latest. That fixed it!

Umbraco error with the Content.ascx file

I'm getting an error when I try to build my web project in VS2015:
Could not load type 'umbraco.cms.presentation.create.controls.content'
It's very limited what I can find on the internet about this issue.
This issue seems related to a file in the umbraco installation folders Content.ascx. Deleting the file seems to bring more errors with other files in the same folder.
Anyone knows how to solve this error?

Visual Studio 2015 can't open project.exe for writing. Access to path denied

I am developing a VB.NET (4.5 framework) solution in Visual Studio 2015, Win10 OS, and have been able to run the builds uninhibited for several months, but now I am receiving the following error upon starting the build:
vbc : error BC2012: can't open
'C:\MyProject\ProjR5\ProjR5\obj\Debug\ProjR5.exe' for writing: Access
to the path 'C:\MyProj\ProjR5\ProjR5\obj\Debug\GenTagR5.exe' is
denied.
At first, VS2015 would give me the option to run the last successful build, but even that is no longer an option. After exhaustive internet searches on this problem, none of the dozen or so given solutions are solving my issue.
Here is what I have tried in order to resolve the error so far:
Ran sfc /scannow (elevated prompt)
Using ProcessExplorer, find handle or DLL substring that included my project
Made sure there were no hanging procs (including procs with my project name, devenv.exe, [project].exe, [myproject].vhost.exe, etc.)
Restarted VS2015
Restarted VS2015, running "as Administrator"
Restarted Computer
Full Shutdown of computer
Complete Rebuild of Solution
Build->Clean Solution
Build->Clean Solution, then Build->Build Solution
Build->Rebuild Solution
Uninstalled and Reinstalled VS2015
Disabled all indexing
Removed "Read Only" attribute from entire project folder and files within
Checked startup scripts for like- or identical processes
Disabled all AV apps
Disabled all antispyware apps
Disabled all firewalls
Verified that Application Experience (services.msc) wasn't disabled (I'm using
Win10 ... it isn't even in the list of services)
Set Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->Build and Run->Max. parallel
builds to 1
Rerun aspnet_regiis.exe (under .NET\Framework)
Checked Local Security Policies and verified account was listed under
"Impersonate a client after authentication"
Removed \bin and \obj folders
Put \bin and \obj back when removing them didn't help
Removed \bin and \obj folders, then Rebuilt
None of these have worked. Any suggestions?
The problem ended up being Samsung Magician's Rapid Mode losing data during its write-caching phase to my solid state drive. I turned off Rapid Mode, and now the project builds without any problems.
Sorry for came too late, but i had this problem and i wanted to show how i fixed for the next devs who need a solution:
It's quite simple, just change your proyect assembly name:1) On your solution explorer: Right click on your proyect.
2) Properties>> aplication>> assembly name>> change it.
3) Compile, run to test it.
4) Change the name again if u wanted the original name.
Adding a description:
Changin the assembly name
New 2 programing in VS but i had same problem of Access or Write exe file ON BUILD.
Problem came out of nowhere. I didn't use or make changes 2 exe file in months,
made exe file, used it now and then and forgot about it....
Then after few months i wanted 2 start exe but no icon on desktop ??? ....tried everything, lost 3 days of searching inside code for error in VS and then called Google....
I read last comment ABOVE which mentioned Bitdefender, opened it and found BitD did block and isolate exe files ..... so i tried exluding files and folders which made problems inside BitD but no help....
So i went back 2 VS.
Within debug i got some X86 processor error which didnt make problem to build but it was warning (free component name in error description helped me ), - errors you can ignore but they are here on build ....
So i made last move before starting it all over again. Removed COMPONENT from application, deleted it on PC ...started VS from start .. and ALL was OK !!!
So in my case it was all about FREE component i used in app inside VS .... Bitdefender found some add / virus in it and blocked build progress.
BitD deleted or blocked exe file in start....
Hope this help anyone with similar problem !
The cause of this error for me was that Team Foundation Server had pulled in a bunch of files to my work space as Read-only. Not sure why it pulled them down from the server with read-only checked, but all I had to do was uncheck it.
Ok. Create a new solution and add its directories to the exception list and copy all your work, except for the '.vbproj' and except for the '.csproj' and the directory files to the directory of the directory of the new solution. I have tried that and it works, due that I have Bitdefender, it will be the only way to sort that issue. After doing so, try to build the app again. If it does not work, then I am definitely out of ideas.

I get blank report after publish. Using Crystal Reports 13 ( Visual Studio 2012 IIS 7)

My reports are working perfectly on local machine. I mean when run from vs.net. The reports are not working even i deploy it to the same system. I tried different solutions but with no luck. I have checked multiple stack-overflow questions and their solutions but still i am stuck. Any help would be really appreciated.
Just after posting my question here at stack-overflow i found a blog which solve my problem. So this may help other people having trouble to view crystal report after publishing. As I wasted two days searching for a fix to this issue. At last I found the solution on the following Site Link
All the credit goes to the Original Author who made that blog. I just copy/past his/her steps
Solution
This issue does not occur in local but happens when you host the site on server in IIS. Actually the cause of the issue is that Crystal Report is unable to find the required JavaScript (JS) files to render the report in browser
Below are the steps to resolve the issue
Downloading and installing runtime for Crystal Reports 13 for Visual Studio 2010. (You might want to skip this step if you already did this before and your application is working locally).
Once the runtime is installed. Crystal Reports will install the required support files in the location of your local computer:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13
Copy the entire Crystal Report Support folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13 to your Website's SITE_ROOT\aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319 folder.
4) If you do not have a \aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319 folders in your website's root. Please create them manually and then copy the crystalreportviewers13 into it.
NOTE: You can just copy the entire aspnet_client folder and past it to the site's root. It will work
Solution
The solution is to work on IIS this way:
Copy aspnet_client folder from c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder to the new website root folder.
or (first one is easier, second one is better fro maintenance)
Create a virtual directory called aspnet_client that points to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client inside the new website
Problem analysis
It's possible to analyze the problem
using client tools (debug window of browser)
GET http://someserver:20080/aspnet_client/system_web/4_0_30319/crystalreportviewers13/js/crviewer/crv.js 403 (Forbidden)

Cause the problem
Crystal Reports runtime is installed, but your application is not running under default web site.
In both cases i found that crv.js and style.css some files were not served;
these files are placed by CR installer in wwwroot\aspnet_client folder, but for some reasons they cannot be reached;
In my case the reason is that i create a different website (port 20080) and aspnet_client folder is not placed inside that website
I can see that you use different versions of software and different configurations, but i think you have the same problem.
I just copied the app_client folder to the published code folder's root then it started working fine.

Unable to access Temp files while debugging winForms project in Visual Studios 2010

I have several programs that I have created in vb.net visual studios 2010. I have been working on these programs for months with no problems. Recently I started having an issue where I can no longer access my temp directory while debugging within VS. I can't use My.Settings anymore because these use those temp files. This is the error I get:
Failed to save settings: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PROGNAME\PROGNAME.exe_Url_gty0snnfox5ji5xgprklljwb0e0mthek\1.0.0.0\nl3u0fw2.tmp'. (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PROGNAME\PROGNAME.exe_Url_gty0snnfox5ji5xgprklljwb0e0mthek\1.0.0.0\user.config)*
This file is there though.
I also get an error when trying to use my web services. I get this error:
Access to the temp directory is denied. Identity 'DOMAIN\Username' under which XmlSerializer is running does not have sufficient permission to access the temp directory. CodeDom will use the user account the process is using to do the compilation, so if the user doesnt have access to system temp directory, you will not be able to compile. Use Path.GetTempPath() API to find out the temp directory location.*
I used the Path.GetTempPath() as the error says and I am trying to access: >"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\"
I have tried going to these folders and making sure that I have the security set to allow everyone complete control. I believe it is a problem with VS not my program because I get the same problem on all of my programs, some of which I haven't opened in months. I did a repair on VS.
I can't think of what might have changed to cause this to stop working all of a sudden. I traveled to a customers facility where I had to change some network settings, but everything should be set back as it was now. My temporary security certificate expired, but I created a new one and now the certificate I am using to sign these applications is in my trusted root on certificate manager and looks to be valid. I should also mention that this is a clickonce deployment and the deployement works fine on my computer and others, it is only while debugging that I have these issues.
I have been running this down for weeks and spent countless hours looking for a solution and have come to a brick wall. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks ahead of time for your help and time! Please let me know if I can clarify anything.
It turns out that the problem was coming from the fact that somehow one of the folders in the filepath to my user.config file got changed. Somehow a .vshost got thrown in on one of the folder names. I still have no idea how this happened and what caused this to happen, and I am not 100% sure that I have gotten to the real root of the problem, but for now, I am able to debug again. I changed the file name back to what it was supposed to be and the errors have stopped. Now lets just hope the file name doesn't get changed back again.
