Can somebody tell me where I can set the path for the application log files which are on the Oracle application server because I can't find nothing in the web.
For an example I have a web app which I have been deployed on the server and this one have redirect errors output log and my question is from where the file path of the log is set?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure what you're looking for, but sounds like you need the OPMN configurations.
These can be found usually (and depends on your version) in 'ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/'.
The file you probably want is 'opmn.xml'

Below error is displayed when I am trying to click on "sign up now" link. Kindly help to fix it. Pls note, I have strawberry-perl-5.30.0.1-64bit.msi also installed and path is set to the environment.
Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, admin#localhost and inform
them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error
log.
Thanks.
Probably, you need to do the correlation for the dynamic parameters like sessionID etc.
Record two scripts using tools like fiddler or LR or any other sniffing tool and compare two scripts to find out dynamic variables required. Then correlate them. For correlation, identify the first occurrence of the variable in the response then extract them using post processor and pass them further below/to all the request that requires it.
Hope this helps.
It appears that your Web Tours Sample Application installation is broken, looking into MICRO FOCUS SUPPORTED stanza in the application details you should contact Micro Focus Support or ask the question in Micro Focus Community Forums.
In the meantime you can use http://blazedemo.com/ page and Getting Started with JMeter - A Basic Tutorial as the alternative test application for your JMeter training
If you are not getting internal server error while sign up (or) accessing administration link then follow the below,
a. close the server from the cmd
b. In the Web Tours 1.0 parent folder, find the file .msi file: strawberry-perl-5.10.1.0
c. Double click on strawberry-perl-5.10.1.0 msi file to install
d. Once it is installed, Now re-start the server (Double click on StartServer.bat file) under WebTours sub-folder
e. Now, Go to link http://localhost:1080/webtours/home.html
f. Click on Sign up (or) administration link
g. Hope you are able to access the Web Tours app in local server now. Thanks! :-)
Recently i've came to an issue to configure Last Participant Support on deployed application. I've found some old post about that:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=77777777-0000-0000-0000-000014090728
On server itself i found how to do it. But with jython or wsadmin commands im not able to find how to do it on application itself.
But it does not help for me. Any ideas?
There is no command assistance available for the action of changing last participant support from the admin console which typically implies there is no scripting command associated the action. And there doesn't appear to be an wsadmin AdminApp command to modify the property. Looking at config repo changes made as a result of the admin console action, the IBM Programming Model Extensions (PME) deployment descriptor file "ibm-application-ext-pme.xmi" for an application is created/modified by the action.
If possible, the best long-term solution would be to use a tool like RAD to generate that extensions file when packaging the application because if you need to redeploy the app, your config changes wouldn't get overridden. If you can't mod the app, you can script the addition of an PME descriptor file in each of the desired apps with the knowledge that redeploying the app will overwrite your changes. The changes can be made by doing something along the lines of:
1) create a text file named ibm-application-ext-pme.xmi with contents similar to this:
<pmeext:PMEApplicationExtension xmi:version="2.0" xmlns:xmi="http://www.omg.org/XMI" xmlns:pmeext="http://www.ibm.com/websphere/appserver/schemas/5.0/pmeext.xmi" xmi:id="PMEApplicationExtension_1559836881290">
<lastParticipantSupportExtension xmi:id="LastParticipantSupportExtension_1559836881292" acceptHeuristicHazard="false"/>
</pmeext:PMEApplicationExtension>
2) in wsadmin or your jython script do the following (note in this example the xmi file you created is in the current directory, if not, include the full path to it in the createDocument command) :
deployUri = "cells/<your_cell_name>/applications/<your_app_name>.ear/deployments/<your_app_name>/META-INF/ibm-application-ext-pme.xmi"
AdminConfig.createDocument(deployUri, "ibm-application-ext-pme.xmi")
AdminConfig.save()
3) restart the server
I don't have access to a WebSphere console, but I need to check if encryption is enabled between the console and appserver connection. The docs I have come across are almost all console related, and I am unable to find what I need. Where would I be able to find this config file setting?
Thanks
I suppose you are looking for WCInboundAdminSecure : it should be located in :
{WAS_HOME}/config/cells/{your cell}/nodes/{your node}/servers/{your server}/server.xml
I have a problem connecting to oracle from within a java servlet running in Jetty (as part of Eclipse). The identical code runs fine from a standalone java app.
My entire development environment is on a single mac. I am using Eclipse and have included the ojdbc6.jar in the main 'Referenced Libraries' and have also dragged and dropped this file in the war/web-inf/lib folder.
As soon as the line
OracleConnectionPoolDataSource ocpds = new
OracleConnectionPoolDataSource();
is called (within the servlet) I get the exception:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied
(javax.management.MBeanServerPermission createMBeanServer)
Am I missing some security policy or so? If so, exactly what do I do need to do to rectify this? And where does this BeanServer come in?
Thanks in advance.
Every web container has its own way of defining data sources, and making them available through JNDI. You should do that instead.
The native oracle connection pool seems to be creating an MBeanServer, and this is not probably not allowed by the security manager used by Jetty. See http://wiki.eclipse.org/Jetty/Feature/Secure_Mode and http://wiki.eclipse.org/Jetty/Tutorial/Jetty-Policy.
Worked it out - not entirely clear why but created a new GWT app in Eclipse but this time NOT included the Google App Engine (which is ticked by default). This seems to add some restrictions to the code when it is running in Jetty....
I now have copied the sample code over and all is working well!
The file names seesm to point to our WAS data sources. However, we're not sure what is creating them and why there are so many. The servers didn't seem to crash. Why is WAS 6.1.0.23 creating these andy why aren't they being cleaned?
There are many files like these, with some going up to xxx.43.lck
DWSqlLog0.0.lck
DWSqlLog0.0
TritonSqlLog0.0.lck
TritonSqlLog0.0
JTSqlLog0.0
JTSqlLog0.1
JTSqlLog0.3
JTSqlLog0.2
JTSqlLog0.4.lck
JTSqlLog0.4
JTSqlLog0.3.lck
JTSqlLog0.2.lck
JTSqlLog0.1.lck
JTSqlLog0.0.lck
WAS uses JDK Logging and JDK logger creates such files with extension .0,.1 etc along with the .lck file so that the WAS runtime has a lock to these files that it writes to.
Cheers
