I have a dual monitor setup,
1: a computer monitor connected via vga
2: a samsung lcd tv conntected via dvi->hdim cable
Until yesterday, this setup was working just fine. Today when I booted windows 7, the bios & windows loading ... screen shows up fine on my lcd tv
however, when windows loads and shows my desktop, my TV goes blank, and I only get the desktop on my computer monitor.
When I go to "screen resolution" and "detect", I only see my computer monitor listed.
As far as I know, no new display drivers were installed, I am using nvadia gt300.
Also, since the bios/welcome screen does show up on my TV, I can root out the tv/cable being faulty.
has anyone encountered something similar before ?
I had exactly the same problem. I de- and reinstalled drivers, I deinstalled the 11/18 Windows Update, I turned my monitor off and on again at least a dozen times as did I unplug and replug the HDMI cable - nothing worked.
Then, in an act of despair, I unplugged my monitor's power cable, replugged it and.... here we go again!

In my laptop Toshiba satellite L640, there are 2 issues
1] when I press on Power button it does not start OS I have to press any keys to start the OS.
2] When the battery is inserted in its slot and charger is connected, the battery does not charge in fact the status doesn not even change to Plugged in. But, when I remove the battery and turn the laptop on it works fine.
Can anyone please help me in these issues ?
the first issue,you can fix in the BIOS, you can set your PC to turn on by pressing any key on the keyboard, you have to remove this configuration and you're done, and the second problem, do not really understand, but i suppouse is a protection system.
I am trying to connect my sony xperia sp running on android 7.1 ( Lineage OS ) to my arduino uno using an OTG cable and the droidScript app. It worked perfectly the first time, it asked permission to open droidScript : I clicked on "OK" and checked "Use by default for this USB device".
But now I can't get it to work. When I reconnect my phone to the Uno nothing happen on my phone, droidScrip does not seem to recognize the device either and now when I try to connect my phone to my computer it does not work either ( but it's charging ).
I have tested all my cables and connected the arduino the same way using a different phone several times and it worked ( but didn't allow "Use by default for this USB device" as I suspect it comes from here ). Manually enable MTP through dev options does not work.
How can I remove that "Use by default for this USB device" option, and get the asking permission box back when I connect to my Uno ?
Try unistalling DroidScript and any other apps that might have talked to that USB device and then re-install DroidScript but don't start it up.
Plugin the OTG cable to the device (make sure you get it the right way round so that the OTG cable goes into the phone end) and then you should see the popup box for permissions.
I have recently started to have a deeper look into Wi-Fi Direct under Windows 10 (desktop version) and had a look into the API descriptions

One of the described methods there (WFDStartOpenSession) states that a previous pairing through the "Windows Pairing experience" (WPS ?) is required.
So i started to play a little bit with the pairing stuff by using a Windows 10 (Build 1607, Desktop) together with an Android-based smartphone (version 6.0.1) and
made the following observations:
When i initiate the connection from my PC to the phone, it "basically" works i.e. the pairing dialog shows up on the phone's display and i can connect to it.
Although it works, it's not really stable in my opinion - on my side it works 1 out of 3 times.
After ~ 30 seconds, Windows disconnects from the phone (in the "Devices and printers" view) while the phone itself stays connected a little longer (then it also disconnects).
When i initiate the connection from my phone to the Windows PC, nothing happens - no message box, no pop-up window :-(
Has anybody else seen this or similiar behavior ?
I tried it with 2 different USB adapters, one with a RTL8723BU chipset from Realtek and the other one with a RT5572 chipset from Mediatek Ralink - both show
exactly the same behavior.
In addition, i noticed that the "Realtek Wireless Lan Utility" to control and configure the USB adapter is not working anymore in Windows 10 (1607) when switching
from client to Access Point mode. I think it's somehow related to ICS, missing hosted network support ... don't know yet.
However, actually you don't need the tool from Realtek as you can for example use the mobile hotspot feature of Windows 10 to share your internet connection with your devices.
But without the Realtek tool i have not found any possibility to switch WiFi channels - does anybody have the same problem ? is there are solution available for that ?

I find my USB Bluetooth dongle stop working, I used it very rare. When I connected USB dongle, it show 'Unknown device' message, and driver not installed. In taskbar show notifications 'USB device not recognized'.
In Device Manager this USB Bluetooth dongle shown as "Unknown device". I tried right click on icon, 'Uninstall Driver Software', then Action > "Scan for hardware changes", it refreshes and show message driver installed successfully in windows taskbar. But, in Device Manager, this USB dongle still yellow "Unknown Device". When right click in icon, device status is "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)' I tried to ininstall every item under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" menu in Device Manager, then rebooted PC, but this not help. I uninstalled all Bluetooth devices from Device Manager, include Bluetooth Radios and Network adapters:
But this not help, too. From MSDN Bluetooth FAQ I read that Windows 7 include in-box support for Bluetooth.
How to install built-in the system Bluetooth drivers in Windows 7 and enable Bluetooth? (I need only transfer files, not audio capabilities).
I find the problem: USB Bluetooth Adapter dongle is faulty. So this is hardware issue.
I have a laptop(Sony Vaio VPCSA9e) (OS: Windows 7) and a monitor (LG W1945S). I used to connect the monitor to my laptop in 1440X900 screen resolution without any problem. (I connect it via VGA cable.)
But, somehow, when I now connect the monitor, the screen resolution is 1024X768 and I cannot change. I also recognized that "Device on VGA" is selected for display option instead of W1945 as before.
There are some problems similar to mine in the Internet and I have:
1) Updated graphics drivers
2) Updated monitor driver (I ensured that default screen resolution is 1440X900 in .ink file)
3) Tried with another VGA cable.
However, none of them didn't work. Do you have any suggestions ?
Okey, I solved the problem. It is due to VGA cable as pointed out prior questions. I was unlucky because my second VGA cable did not work. Bingo in third!
