In your Joomla backend, when you first login, you will see a Quick Icon telling you whether Joomla is up to date or not. Click that button, then in the top right, click the "Options" button. Then in the drop down list, click on "Short Term Support", then "Save and Close".
It will then show you that there is an update available

Missing "options" button in Joomla! update component

I'm trying to migrate from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3. To do so, i follow Joomla 2.5 to 3.x Step by Step Migration on docs.joomla.org. But i have a weird problem that i fail to solve by myself.
There is step:
Go to Components → Joomla Update. (It should say no updates found. If it doesn’t, update Joomla to the latest version and test. Then do another backup.) Click on the Options button at the top right corner.
Problem is, i have no Options button shown there.
Can somebody explain me why? And what should i do?
I tried to clear cache of browser, purge cache in control panel and reinstalled stable Joomla 2.5 package. Problem was present. Thanks in advance
Not sure why the options button is missing but you can browse to the Joomla Update Component options directly via:
http://yourwebsite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_config&view=component&component=com_joomlaupdate
Once you have updated to Joomla 3.x hopefully the option button will reappear.

there is no "images & links" tab in joomla 3.4 back-end

I updated my Joomla website from 1.5.26 to 2.5 and then to 3.4, now when I try to write new article or edit previous articles there is no "images & links" tab.
Try this;
Go to your back end and under article options > editing layout, make sure you have images and links enabled for back-end. Could be as simple as this?

Joomla 2.5 after migrate issue

I have migrated Joomla 1.5.26 site to Joomla 2.5 using upgrade.
After migration i got all my articles, menu and menu items.
But i am not able to see any article on site though they are assign to menu items in backed.
I compare all modules, categories and all to my 1.5 site and all data is as it is maintain in 2.5 migrated.
Still I am not able to see my articles on site. Need help
Just a guess, but try to go to menu management, select all menu items and then click Rebuild button on top.
If that doesn't help, you should check if your template is migrated properly.

Joomla Admin Menu disappering

I have a Joomla 3.1 application, and recently, when I click on any submenu of the back-end
top menu, the root menu of that submenu disappears.
Why? How can I solve it?
Is there any plugin or extension installed by you which works on Menus?
Or you have did any customization in Joomla Core files?
Find out those and Revert them or if any plugin then un-publish that.

Menu Item in Joomla 2.5.8

I was earlier using Joomla 2.5.7 and in menu I have option as Menu Item association in Menu manager. However when I update to 2.5.8, I don't see that option. Any idea how to do menu item association in Joomla 2.5.8?
To set the default language to Arabic, go to you Joomla backend. Then, on the top menu, go to Extensions >> Language Manager, then select the Arabic language and click default in the top right.
My above explanation is how it's always done using the default Joomla language manager. Here is the same method but with screenshots:
As for the Menu Item association, see if the information on this link helps:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2688496
It's for Joomla 1.7 but might also apply to you.
Hope this helps
