I am checking the new codeigniter driver feature and stuck in the phase of calling child class function in parent class. Is there any good example and description of it.
Thanks,
Here's two:

Driver feature isn't exactly "new" :-)

Hello :) On start: I use PrestaShop 1.7.6.2 and MySQL 5.6 and PHP 7.2
I want to create a module on new way with Symfony Controller and Entites without ObjectModel (beacouse like say one of develoeper of PrestaShop: Pablo Borowicz - ObjectModel is deprecated)
So on start I create simple module available at the link
https://github.com/DarkSidePro/testmodule
Controller and routing works perfect the problem is when I try use enity manager
$entityManager = $this->container->get('doctrine.orm.entity_manager');
$testRepository = $entityManager->getRepository(TestmoduleTest::class);
$test = $testRepository->findAll();
And I have error like that:
The class 'DarkSide\Testmodule\Entity\TestmoduleTest' was not found in the chain configured namespaces PrestaShopBundle\Entity
Maybe I doing something wrong? But doc of prestashop of coures is suck about new way of creating a PrestaShop modules
Looking 4 help :)
Thx all :)
The PrestaShop documentation is a completely mess concerning the handling of the Symfony repositories.
Doctrine is looking (by the auto_mapping orm configuration attribute) for the presence of your entity under the Prestashop Entity namespace, so given that your TestmoduleTest entity isn't there, it cannot be found and therefore loaded.
You may have to register your entity under the following namespace : namespace PrestaShop\Module\Testmodule\Entity;
You'll be able to find more about how to create your own repository class inside the official productcomments module here.
Ok the problem is on other way :)
In this case i have problem with my Repository class (probably with constructor of this class)
when I deleted them module start work
Problem solved :)
First, I have IDE helper, and the php storm plugin. I tried the Gist pre made too. There are some similar questions, but no one seems to get answers. I'll probably poke laracasts and ide helper bug list if I don't get anything here.
So I'm following along to some of the into laracasts, and the guy keeps using methods that are not defined as far as I can tell. Situation:
I created a eloquent model called Article. It extends
Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model
So now I have App\Article and I can call any of the methods available to model. For example:
$article = \App\Article::all();
PHPStorm is happy. He keeps pulling stuff like ::find() or ::findOrFail()
It's in the docs
I just don't under stand how that works, I don't see the methods defined in model. If this is what ide helper is supposed to fix, then I'm not certain it's working correctly. I can RTFM, I'm pretty sure I followed the directions to a tee.
Ya know, I just found it. I see this question out and about, so I'll answer it here.
https://github.com/barryvdh/laravel-ide-helper/issues/248#issuecomment-131503475
Fixed find or fail for me. find is still MIA. I'm surprised laravel doesn't support their code base in the forms of plugins or dedicated IDE's bit more. It's all just people out there creating a community and moving the world forward so I can't complain too much.
It works because Model implements __callStatic() which dispatches it to itself on a new instance: __callStatic() implementation on Model
It creates a new instance (new static) of the model in question and dispatches the statically called method on the instance.
Effectively, Model::foo($bar) is the same as (new Model)->foo($bar).
I have such a big problem and I really need your help.
Basically, I'm working on a project whose core technology is GWT and I have to make functional tests and the tests of UIs. In fact, I have also to use Cucumber the framework which is BDD-based framework.
Now I come to the main problem : Indeed, at every Maven build, GWT generates automatically the ids of the widgets. Then, Selenium could not find these widgets because of the recent updates/changes of their Ids. Moreover, I can't find some widgets with the methods (findByName/xPath/cssSelector etc.). I'm working now on the FluentLenium which is an overlay of Selenium.. I don't know how to fix this problem because I have no control of how GWT generates the Ids behind ..
Does anynone met the same problem before ?
Thank you a lot.
I've worked with GWT/Selenium/Cucumber. We had a single class file with public static String fields for each ID used in the whole application. These id's were set with ensureDebugId. This same class file is then used in Selenium/Cubumber tests to find the widgets by id. I don't know if this works for you. But in our case the tester was in control of the id's.
currently I am trying to register a Doctrine-Eventlistener for every request in my FLOW3-Package. Some research pointed me to the Package.php, but unfortunately the ObjectManager is not available when the boot()-Method is called.
I searched the whole FLOW3-Documentation http://flow3.typo3.org/documentation/guide/partiii/bootstrapping.html without luck
Any hints on which is the right place to do package-wide setup with access to the object manager?
thanks and best regards
Your are bit to early in the bootstrap to get every object, I have a problem, maybe related to yours, you can check my bug report on http://forge.typo3.org/issues/33838
Why do you need a Doctrine Eventlistener, maybe you can use AOP to have this kind of feature ?
I want to add custom data to the insert method of the db library to automatically do some timestamp work and other processing. I know I can extend controller and model defaults with MY_, but what about the DB?
This isnt the right answer, because you can extend your CI Database class, i did it!
Just follow this tut and you will get it working!
https://github.com/EllisLab/CodeIgniter/wiki/Extending-Database-Drivers
im just have problems trying to use two database connections when the second connection is loaded with $this->db->load(), just had this problem, everyelse work like a charm!
No: see http://codeigniter.com/user_guide/general/creating_libraries.html, there is an explicit warning that the DB class can't be extended.
