Three.js Example code, from StackOverflow, not working - three.js

I copied and pasted the Three.js code given here into an HTML file and downloaded the three.js package from the website, and configured the <script> tag to point to the location of the file three.min.js.
Nonetheless, when I open the HTML file, it displays a blank white screen.
What am I missing?

well I tryed the exact same thing and I'm seeing the wireframe cube rotating on screen. A few things to try.
1) drop the three.min.js right in the root folder and copy/paste the example code again without any alterations.
2) did you get the three.min.js from the zip package under the build directory? Or did you navigate the git repo and copy/paste it? If copy/paste was used be sure to click the "Raw" button to get the code without the wrapper HTML.
3) try the latest Firefox or Chrome browsers first. If it works there but not in say Safari, there are a few steps you need to take to enable WebGL in Safari first.
4) your video card may be blacklisted due to driver incompatibilities.
If none of these help, then post up the code, where you got the Three.js package, what browser and video card your using and I'll see what else I can do to help :)

I had the same problem. Windows hides the file extensions by default. I change it in folder options and it worked.

/public/img/ folder not acceping new assets in Go-compiled web app

I downloaded a binary via docker for the Gogs project (https://github.com/gogits/gogs), set it up (via docker pull gogs/gogs) and the server works as expected. Now I'm trying to customize the html a bit to look consistent with our company's other tools. When looking at deployed project, the assets of interest are in the following directories:
public/img/*.png
public/css/*.css
templates/*.tmpl
When I update the css, changes take effect right away, when I update tmpl, I need a container restart (implying that html is generated at server start time), when I update anything in public/img/ directory, however, I can't seem to get those assets used at all and I'm clueless about what's happening since most web servers/frameworks treat public/img/ as a static directory with all of its contents publicly visible by default.
Here is what I've tried so far and the outcomes:
Action: copied a new favicon image (my_favicon.png) into public/img/ and changed /templates/base/head.html to point to it (/img/my_favicon.png) instead of the original (/img/favicon.png), left original untouched and restarted the container.
Result: page loads with broken image icon, DOM inspector says that it's pointing to /img/my_favicon.png but doesn't show the image, going to that URL directly doesn't show the image either.
Action: change .tmpl back to point to original image (/img/favicon.png), overwrite original with the new image. I tried this with the main lg-gogs.png logo too.
Result: page loads with broken image icon just like before.
A grep search for image name revealed that only the .tmpl I modified and config.codekit are mentioning it (and I'm not at all familiar with CodeKit, but the instructions claim that it's only relevant for git, not me, and to leave the file alone, although it seems to profile names and sizes of all images - however I don't see anything else on the server reference this codekit file).
I have no idea why changes to css and tmpl work fine, but images cause this unexpected result. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on, why the server isn't accepting the images?

PTC Creo PZV file view in browser?

i have one app installed which is using arbortext ptc isoview /creo plugin to show files, so i wanted to make app to take snapshot of it in my IE, but cant find the way to load pzv file, if you just drag and drop it, does not work, i also tryed loadin via html, but seems my params are wrong?
solved, by ripping 3 java scripts and displaying full screen pvz file in webbrowser and then taking snapshot

broken image in chrome and firefox works in safari

I have a logo that shows up in Safari but in Chrome it appears as a broken link and simply does not show up at all in Firefox.

I have re-uploaded it many times and have even tried alternative paths and file names.
anyone know how i might be screwing this up?
I ran into this same problem. For me, it turns out the image was corrupt. If i tried to open the png file up in photoshop, i would get an error saying it could not parse the file.
For whatever reason, safari could display the corrupt file, but chrome could not. This is how i fixed my issue. I noticed "preview" on my macbook could open the file fine. If you are using windows, possibly try paint or gimp or some other program besides photoshop.
I downloaded the corrupt file onto my macbook, opened it with preview (open with > preview)
In the preview app, go to file > duplicate, which makes a copy of your image
Save that duplicated image
As a test, i tried opening that new copied image in photoshop and i was able to!
Upload new file to website. I was able to view the image in chrome now.
Hope that helps anyone who ran into the same problem.
It could be an issue with your file structure. Right now your links are using relative paths (e.g. href="index.html"). This is fine if the file you're referencing is in the same directory as the current page file. But if your current page is located elsewhere, like in a 'pages' directory or something, then you need to tell the links to start from the site root. That would look like href="/index.html" (note the slash). So for the image, you'd have:
<img src="/images/logo-01.png"/>

images not loading in Internet Explorer. why?

ive been finally polishing off a website i was building but to my dismay i recently checked the website in Internet Explorer and found the images weren't loading fully.. you can see can the borders for the image but nothing loads in between. i thought it might something i altered on wordpress, but the main page has images from from non wordpress html files and they don't load either.. everything works fine on every other browser except Internet Explorer.. any ideas why? probably a simple fix
here's the website.. . all the code and css is viewable there, if you want my wordpress code let me know
maybe the code just needs to rearranged to make window browsers happy?

Looking at the source for the shop.html, it looks like you are specifying the height of the images, but not the width. Opera, and Firefox are ignoring the width="" and using the default width, but IE is setting it to width="1." I don't know how to change this in Wordpress but if you remove the width="" or add a value it will show correct.
You can see this if you r-click the image line in IE and select properties: it shows as 1X290px.

Very newbie troubleshooting. Basic p5.js index.html setup on Atom, not generating anything on browser?

literally just got into the world of coding, so if my question seems absolutely insane, I do apologise.
Anywho, was following some tutorials (Daniel Shiffman's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ4D3wDRaec) how to setup a basic p5.js file on Atom, and generate a green window to test if the code is working. Really basic setup, nothing should've went wrong.
For some reason the text editor wouldn't read my code while I was typing; so then I clicked on the index.html file from the root folder.
Instead of having to show a green window, nothing actually happened. I don't know if this is a software issue, seems like nobody has encountered such a basic problem.

You might have missed a couple of steps in the video:
You can simply (manually) double click index.html from the yayme folder on your Desktop. This should open your default browser with the page. This works for simple sketches but once you start loading assets (images/sounds/data from other sites, etc.) it's best to use a local web server
You can use any http server as Daniel Shiffman's video mentions or the atom-live-server package (notice the install button on that page which will open Atom for you). Once that's installed you can access it via Atom > Packages> atom-live-server
