I want to create a download link for a PDF file in a Joomla (version 2.5) article. For example, it will be written that please click here to download this file... I already uploaded the file to the media manager and its location is already set. I also already tried to create a link in the article for it. When I click the link, I get an error message of my hosting company. What should I do?

I think that I fixed it. Inside the edit/insert link button (in article page's editor), there is link url field and I type the url as /images/pdf/documentName.pdf and now when I click the link, the pdf document is opened in pdf view format and it is downloadable by default.

How do we link an article page on Joomla without it being published as a menu item? We have tried using the ID number, but it does not work.
For example, within one of our published pages we want to link to another article page but this page does not exist as a menu item- so there is not an url to use.
Please provide step-by-step instructions.
If you prefer to NOT have to create URLs manually you can try switching the editor that Joomla uses by default (TinyMCE). Personally I find JCE Editor much more useful. With that you can quickly generate links to menu items, content or even contacts all from their 'Insert/Edit Link' modal popup. It also has a more robust image manager. JCE Editor can even be installed from the 'Install from Web' tab of the Extension Manager Install page.
i am working on a website already built in joomla and ALFContact form plugin is used for contact us page. i want to add some information on that page but cannot find any option to edit that page. (i've asked for edit the content only). As i hav'nt use joomla befor it's bit problem for me. not found any help on ALFContact plugin site.
The page is not present in article manager so i can edit them.

The only way I found to edit the form was:
Delete underlined code to detele field "From" (De:)

And you got

I have created my custom store view View1. And specified the image placeholder in the configuration settings.
Now while I add a new product all mandatory fields are filled. But when I add images
I get this error "Image type and information need to be specified for each store view."
Since I have added the placeholder image it appears as default but I want to add my own custom image.
Please help me. I got a due on 13/6/2013
And the product entered is saved in database PHPMyadmin. Also when I click default placeholder image I can't see my product in front-end.

use Mozila or Just Rename your .htaccess file inside the /media directory to .htaccess-old.
If you don't use a browser with flash plugin installed (ex: chromium) the buttons will not display. What you need to do is to use a browser with the flash plugin (ex: google-chrome).
If you are on chromium, you can use the developer tools (F12) and you will see if the error come from missing flash plugin.

If I understood correctly your question, basically you need two things:
make sure that the filebrowser plugin is available in your CKEditor package - this plugin makes it possible to attach external file managers to CKEditor
...and you need some file manager.
There is an official ajax file manager for CKEditor created by CKSource and it is called CKFinder. If you decide to give it a try make sure to check the documentation

You can either download a phocapdf or you can create a view for this as suggested here
