I downloaded Unreal Development Kit 4,
I see a warning
" image not recognized "
while opening .dmg file.
any idea?
I can't find any information from anywhere.
I'm currently using osX 10.9.2 macbook pro,
meeting every requirements they officially require.
any help would be nice.
I had the same issue. The PROBLEM was that it didnt completely download the file.
The SOLUTION is to keep downloading the files again and again with a proper internet connection and you should get around 45MB File.
Cheers !

During an attempt to reinstall Xcode9 from scratch I decided to use the XIP file download from the developer.apple.com website.
I opened the archive, moved it to the Application folder and launched it. No problem, aside from the issues I was trying to solve that are still there ...
Now I go to the App Store and I see that Xcode results as non-installed.
What should I do?
I am running it on a MacBook Pro 15" from 2016 with macOS 10.12.6.
Yes you can use multiple version all together. just be carefull when installing after download, it will prompt to replace. "do not replace" but "Keep both versions". I am also using 4 different versions for compatibility checks. :)
Appcelerator Studio, build: 4.7.1.201609100950
macOS Sierra 10.12
iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015)
Java 8
Node.js 4.4.7
npm 2.15.8
Titanium CLI 5.0.9
I've tried (many times) to reinstall the editor, but without solving the problem. The editor is really really slow when scroll (after macOS Sierra update). It's impossible to use it without going crazy. I use Appcelerator Studio for many years and i have never had these problems.
There are other external components that could upgrade / reinstall? (Java.. etc etc)
Thanks
Update
In addition to the slowdown, the editor does not properly recognize the file format.
I had this slow down issue with appcelerator Studio as well (some of my colleagues swear by using Atom editor)... this happens with Appcelerator when you have one .js file that is huge (thousands of lines).
Ideally, split your js file into seperate commonJS files and coll them into the original js file with require('filejs')
I also had this problem for almost 1 month and I went completely crazy one day due to Studio slow-ness.
I tried complete fresh installation of Appc & all of its components 2-3 times, but no luck.
Then on one day, it was not working even like previous day, so I decided to completely format my MacintoshHD and re-install the macOS Sierra because I noticed that some other normal apps like Skype & Email were also started working slowly. So I got the idea that it's related to macOS Sierra update.
Very Important Note (take system backup first)
Before installing OS, I took backup in external hard-drive and then I ran the First Aid (Disk Utility Tool) on MacintoshHD and found that there were some corruptions in it, so I fixed them but then something really crazy & out of this world happened with my system - Kernel Panic and my system did not start-up for 3 hours of hectic try.
So the last solution was to format the Macintosh HD & install the OS again. The best way to do this is to make a bootable pen-drive having macOS Sierra in it and then install using it.
Another way (if you have very good speed LAN) is to connect your system to Apple server and let it install latest OS from online. But it will download the whole OS & other required files (of at least 5GB size).
There are many online tutorials on how to install macOS Sierra again after such creepy issues.
FYI: I did re-installation of macOS Sierra last week & now everything is working like it is supposed to work on a Mac machine (just buttery smooth.).
I seem to be having this really weird issue where Github Desktop doesn't open any windows on the mac.
Upon setup I had a window to sign in and choose my repo but after that set up no window shows up
Anyone else had an issue like this?
Is there a way I can provide log/error files?
This sounds like the same problem I had, for which I contacted GitHub Support. They suggested deleting GitHub Desktop and downloading a fresh copy (e.g., 222 in my case), then unarchiving it with the Mac Archive Utility instead of a third-party archiver (I had used WinZip). This resolved the windowing problem I had.
I had a similar problem and I resolved it by simply unzipping a fresh copy of GitHub Desktop.
I used "TheUnarchiver app" (https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/the-unarchiver/id425424353?mt=12) for this, (but any unpacking software should to the trick).
I'm trying to package an adobe air file for mac and the the resulting image file won't open. I'm working on a Mac and it's not the first time that i'm doing this. It seems so that my mac is the bad boy, because I tried also to package older projects and the resulting dmg files don't work too, but they used to worked.
Trying to open the image file I get following message:
"The following disk images couldn't be opened
PackagingTest.dmg - not recognized"
Has anyone any idea what it could be? I also repaired the mac permissions with disk utility, but it doesn't help.
Can anyone help me, please?

Ok people, finally found the problem. I'm using FDT and for some reason FDT stopped to append the flag -target native when compiling a native installer. I think that some FDT update introduced this bug.
Hi
I downloaded the XCode 4 which uses the app store to download and install and took over 8 hours for the 4.1 GB download to complete.
Can I copy this install from to another machine without having to do that massive download again?
Just to be clear I know how to move files between machines its more the location and what needs to be moved that I am interested in,
Thanks in advance,
I simply copied "/Applications/Install Xcode.app" from one machine to the other after the first machine downloaded from the App Store ($4.99 version). It worked fine.
I am stumped by other answers here - I have just downloaded XCode 4.3.2 for Lion (AFAIK latest at the moment) from this site:
https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action
You only need a valid AppleID (free of charge) developer account. No credit card whatsoever.
The filtering & pagination on download page do not work properly / are somewhat weird, at least in FF. But you can still find and download the 1.8GB .dmg file there and install it wherever you want.
OP has stated that he has downloaded a 4.1GB file, so the versions might be different. I do not miss anything from mine though, it works (well, mostly - but that's just the quality of Apple software... :) ).
For what it’s worth, if you’re a registered developer you can download a single .dmg file from Apple’s website and install Xcode from that. The disc image can then be obviously copied wherever you wish.
Isn't it just a *dmg file? That's what I have done one with a previous version. Just copied it and a normal install did the trick..
The newest is called xcode_4_and_ios_sdk_4.3__final and is in my download folder...
