Cannot connect to TFS in VS2013 anymore - visual-studio-2013

Over the last few days, I have had a LOT of trouble trying to get VS2013 Ultimate on my PC to connect to my TFS servers...
I will give you a quick rundown on what is happening... I did an update to VS2013 (on my PC only) to 'Update 4' a few days back and that seems to be when the problem started...
At first when I would try and 'connect to team foundation server' I was getting an error (and yeah typical end user, I didnt note what it was), I just assumed that there was a problem with that server, because we have had a few issues with it.. it wasnt until I tried to connect to a different server, that I got the same error. Thats when I realised it wasnt the server that was the problem.
I have done a bit of investigating... I can open VS2010 and connect to both servers no problems at all...
I can open VS2013 and VS2013 on my laptop (which I havent updated yet), and I can connect to both server no worries... so it is definitely NOT the TFS servers...
I found a few threads on here that all said to clear out the cache files in Team Foundation version 5.0 (and I also did 3.0 because it was there), no difference.
I went back into 'connect to team foundation server' and actually removed both of the servers from the list, in the hopes that adding them back in would fix the issue... but no... it now gives me the following error:
TS31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server: http://xxxxxxxx:8080/tfs. Team foundation server Url: http://xxxxxxxxxx:8080/tfs.
Possible reasons for this failure include:
The name, port number or protocol for the TFS is incorrect. (have checked and they are all correct)
The TFS is offline (definitely not... )
The password has expired or incorrect (I dont even get that far down the track to enter the password)
I decided that I would do a system restore, back to when I installed the update... did that, except for some reason I can only back 4 days, and the update was done prior to that..
I went into control panel and uninstalled the updates... made no difference
I ended up uninstalling VS2103 completely, restarted PC, reinstalled VS2013... went to connect to TFS... same problem...
I really have no idea at all how to fix this... can anyone at all help???

"Unable to connect to 'IIS Express'." How do I fix this?

I've been trying to fix this for a while. I'm working on a cloud service and for some reason I get an error every time I try to run it. I've done everything I could think of doing.
I disabled and re-enabled SSL
I set an iplisten for 0.0.0.0 and made sure my computer wasn't currently using the port the project is using
I tried deleting applicationhost.config and even the whole .vs folder
I tried cleaning and rebuilding the project
In combination with messing with applicationhost.config and installing the .NET framework I needed, I restarted my computer
I'm pretty sure I tried a couple other things but they're slipping my mind at the moment. I'm currently using the following/have the following installed:
I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio Community Edition v16.10.31.321.278
.NET Core v5.0.0
.NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.8
I have "Internet Information Services" and "Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core" enabled in my features tab
I'm running the latest version of Windows 10, completely up-to-date
The weird thing about all of this is that it works fine on my boyfriend's laptop, who's working with me on the project. I'm not exactly sure where to find the IIS logs either, if anyone knows and could let me know, that'd be very appreciated. I've grown tired of searching post after post to see that nothing helps. I'll upload the error logs later if I'm able to find them.
Did you try to run VS as Administrator ?
I used to have the same issue and find out it was the only way to solve this.

Error when trying to renew Visual Studio Community Edition license

I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio Community Edition 2013. My trial ran out recently and I'm trying to renew it by logging in. A window pane comes up for me to sign in and I enter my credentials, however I get the following script error:
Line: 4
Char: 16405
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: https://app.vssps.visualstudio.com/_static/tfs/20150123T002517/_scripts/TFS/Loader.min.js
After some rudimentary searching, it seems as if I'm missing a library. Has anyone experienced the same problem and knows which part of the code it's referring to? I don't want to go on a mad updating rampage.
I have been running into this problem for months. I do development on Virtual Box machines running XP, because it is small and easy to copy, and I have gotten this problem on some of the machines and not others. I thought it had to do with window updates, but I have that turned off, and I am still getting the problem on machines that just worked a few days ago. Unfortunately with XP you can't update anything or even go back to a previous version of IE.
Actually, it was the virtualization software itself. I'm actually using vmware not virtualbox (mix-up in the comments). Incidentally, vmware just released an update today and after installing it, I was able to log in.
By the way, it could've been the log-in itself. After the update, microsoft visual studio didn't even ask me to validate the software, but went straight to the ide. I saw by my user id, an exclamation prompting me to sign in, whereupon I was able to validate my install.

TFS 2010 Connection Issue

I have been working on this weird issue for a few days now and I'm going to pull my hair out! I have a PC and a server in the default WORKGROUP. I created a new collection and a new project and now I'm trying to connect from my PC to the server via VS2010. When I go to the connect team project dialog box and input my info it doesn't connect!
If I copy the preview http and input that into the browser it works fine! It asks for credinitals and the project comes up without an issue. For the fun of it I installed VS2013 team explorer and it pulls it up without an issue. What's going on here?
In the end I ended up going with VS2013. I'm no longer having this issue.

Can no longer access TFS from workstation

All of the sudden I can no longer access my TFS 2010 server. It is on the same network as my laptop. I have made no changes to anything. I worked on it one day and then the next day VS2012 and 2010 can't connect. I can also not connect to the web UI from the outside either.
I have VS2010 installed on my server and it can connect just fine. I have looked at my services on my laptop and found nothing about TFS or Visual Studio.
What I have tried.
Restarting the server
Restarting my laptop.
Resetting the TFS user account on my server.
Restarting the web server that TFS runs under.
Checked the server logs for errors.
ipconfig /flushdns
Using VS2010 and VS2012. With all updates.
Turned off Bitdefender firewall.
Firewall on server is turned off.
Ping server name. This works.
RDC into server via same server name. This works.
Connecting to TFS from VS2010 on the server. This works.
I would say this is a DNS issue but I can get to my server just fine except when TFS is involved. It seems like there is a communication issue from an outside source to TFS.
Any ideas on why access from any other source than the server would just stop?
I use Bitdefender too and for my final hope to solve this problem, I went to Control Panel > Uninstall a program > and Repair the Bitdefender, TFS came back!
While Bitdefender was repairing, I was able to access TFS Web site in the same network. Restarted Windows and the problem didn't show up again.
Hope this helps!

tfs31001 : cannot connect to tfs

I installed VS 2012 and connect to TFS but because of the framework 4.5 problems I had to uninstall framework 4.5 installed VS 2010 but now I cannot connect to TFS.
I added the server, but gives error when I try to connect to project collection.
I uninstalled VS 2012.
I cannot delete the local workspace and I think that might cause the problem. I get error:
TF31001: cannot connect to team Foundation Server at SERVERNAME. The server returned the following error: Field not found: 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.IntegrationServiceIdentifiers.SyncService.'
PS: My teammates can connect to the server.
How can I get over this issue?
Thanks in advance
Did you already tried to go to the TFS through a webbrowser by surfing to it from your machine? And did you installed this piece of software to your visual studio 2010
This may appear like a strange answer but have you tried clearing your Temporary Internet files and cache? I've had a couple of problems over the years with TFS and have found this works for me generally with connectivity issues.
