how to remove in PDF invoice generated in Magento - magento

Hello Megento Experts,
I am a beginner in magento. I have set up a magento store. Now, when admin generated a PDF Ivoice for the orders, there are symbols in place of space. As in screenshot below.
Please help me removing these symbols.
Thanks in advance.

In default magento generates the invoice pdf from the class Mage_Sales_Model_Order_Pdf_Invoice.
If you check in the file location
app\code\core\Mage\Sales\Model\Order\Pdf\Invoice.php
You can see that.
But in your case, it seems that the file has been changed. This file may have been overridden or overwritten in your local folder. Search for the same file location in your local folder
app\code\local
You may find the file.
If it is there, check for &nbsp in that file.
Hope this will help.

Magento is ignoring my changes in html files

I am trying to update cart page in Magento, and more specifically files from web/template/cart. I copied all these files to my custom theme, but somehow all changes are ignored and Magento still using files from vendor. It only happens to html file - phtml are updating correctly.
Tried to clear cache etc. but without any success.
Any ideas?
What file are you editing? Put some example for the name and directory. If the changes not applied so donĀ“t rewritting the files.

Magento Templates - Can extensions be bundled with a theme?

I have a real noob Magento question. I'm helping a friend change the template their store is using but they are worried about losing the functionality of some of their extensions such as ajaxsearch. They don't know if it's actually an extension or part of the template. I can't seem to figure out if some of the extensions are built into the theme or if they are completely separate extensions. Is there an easy way to tell?
To give an example the ajaxsearch JS file's path seems to in the template path e.g http://www.example.com/skin/frontend/default/templatename/js/ajaxsearch.js
and if I go to system > configuration I can see it listed in the sidebar under Templates-Master (which I think is a brand name). In this case is this an extension and is this how file paths work for extensions? The fact that skin is in the file path is throwing me off.
Thanks!
Fast way:
Each Magento extension provided as archive (.tgz). Unpack it to some folder outside Magento and check have it next path or not:
unpacked_folder/skin/frontend/default/templatename/js/ajaxsearch.js
(another trick is look in the first lines of ajaxsearch.js file, authors often write extension or theme names in it).
Long way:
Find where is this file included on page. Search for 'ajaxsearch.js' in xml files placed in app/design/frontend/default/templatename/layout/
if not found, try to search in app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/ etc.
For example you find it in somefile.xml
Try to find which extension include this file. For doing this search 'somefile.xml' in config.xml files in local and community pools:
app/code/local/some/extension1/etc/config.xml
app/code/local/some/extension2/etc/config.xml
app/code/community/some/extensionN/etc/config.xml
etc
If you found it in ...some/extensionX/etc/config.xml - this mean what ajaxsearch.js belongs to some_extensionX extension. If not found - it belongs to theme.

Magento 1.9 translations not working

I have a weird problem. I made some translations for my Magento shop (using .csv files) and my translation for Add to Wishlist suddenly disappeared.
I've not change anything in .csv files since this translation working and in .csv translation is correct.
In table core_translation I haven't got any translation for this. Labels in code are not changed.
Where else can store magento translation?
P.S. Reindex store and clear Cache didn't help
You have put the csv file inside module folder or theme folder?
The priority order of translation is
from database
from theme
from module
So if the translation entry is present both in module and the theme folder, the module entry will be replaced by the theme entry

Can't download files from the downloadable products folder directly from the product page

I've created a few downloadable products and added an mp3 file as the product.
Now instead of going through the checkout to download the file i wanted the user to be able to do it on the products page in view.phtml by clicking on a link
The problem i have is that i can't seem to download files which are in this downloadable folder
media/downloadable/files/links/t/o/toast_to_the_dead_-_immortal_technique.mp3
If i move that track to media/filename.mp3 ..or even in the wysiwyg folder then i can download it using my script. I've checked the file permissions etc and they're fine so im stuck as to why i can't download my files.
Does anyone know? or is there a way i can change the folder from downloadable to something else, as all i need downloadable products for is music files.
Cheers
Edit:
I should also add that i am getting the download box to save the file, with the correct file name and path, its just the file is 523 bytes, im using the code below to get the filepath
$mediaUrl = Mage::getBaseUrl(Mage_Core_Model_Store::URL_TYPE_MEDIA);
$_linkpath = $mediaUrl."downloadable/files/links".$_link->getLinkFile();
If i were to change the link path to $mediaUrl."filename.mp3" etc then it would download..so seems to me that its the downloadable folder thats causing the problem?
Nevermind I've solved this, I just changed $_linkpath to
$_linkpath = "media/downloadable/files/links".$_link->getLinkFile();
The full url was causing the problem

how to change template in phpbb3 forum

i want to change default template in phpbb3. for this where i have to made changes. i am trying to changes file inside style/subsilver2/template...but i didn't made any right .please help me ..in which file i have to made changes.i have also try in admin section in style..but not successes... if any one have clue..please help me.
Thanks
Manish
It depends what part of the page you would like to change, since the template is a set of many HTML files with preprocessing instructions. They are located in:
[PHPBB_Folder]/styles/[Theme_Name]/template
You can find the right html file by searching for a specific part of source code copied from the live page of the forum.
Important note: when you're changing phpBB template files, don't forget to reset the template cache in the forum admin panel (go to Admin / Styles tab - and clear cache for what you changed, Template, Theme, or Imageset.
I hope this helps.
