visual studio 2010 express registration - visual-studio-2010

I'm not able to get registration key for visual studio 2010 express (or 2012 express).
If I'm clicking the "get registration key" in visual studio and the browser tells me "page not found".
This is the link VS tries to open: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=163982
Can anyone tell me how to get registration key?
Many thanks!
I used the offline installer (from DVD) - registration is required anyway (It seams that some people think in that case no key is reqired ...)

You should get Visual Studio 2012 Express free from Microsoft website by telling you're a student. In alternative you can register for Microsoft Dreamspark And can get VS 2013 Professional for free.
You can get one Community version of Visual Studio 2013 Here;
https://www.visualstudio.com/products/visual-studio-community-vs
Its FREE for Students.

Visual Studio not installed error

I know this is not exactly a programming question but I don't even know how to google it so here I am.
I currently have Visual Studio 2013 Express and I get the error above when am trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Installer Projects extension, what is missing? Any help will be highly appreciated.

As mentioned on the extension page, this requires Visual Studio 2013.
Visual Studio 2013 Express is not Visual Studio 2013 (meaning paid version). Or at least, only a subset, with a different product ID.
You'll have to use the paid version of VS or choose another setup method.

Active Reports not showing in Visual Studio 2010 developer edition

I've Visual Studio 2010 developer edition in my PC. Also I installed AR 9. But this is not showing under add new item. So I cant add new Active Report section report into it.
How can make the Active Reports items been visible in Visual Studio add new item option..
Make sure you are not running the Visual Studio 2010 express edition. ActiveReports cannot be used with the express edition of Visual Studio since they do not support packages. Please check the requirements page for more information.

The difference between Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express?

What is the difference between purchasing Visual Studio 2010 Express, and downloading Visual Web Developer 2010 Express?
Although I created a company website using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express (I love this product!), I'm not an experienced programmer. But I'm wondering if Visual Studio 2010 Express is just as good, or better, and if it will do the same things as VWD.
I just can't google any good links that compares the two.
Microsoft has it:
MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO - microsoft.com
and Definition of
Microsoft Visual Studio Express - Wikipedia
Just click on learn more in each product to see their differences.

On the "Visual Studio Express 2010" disk VS2010Express.iso which I downloaded from Microsoft it turned out that Visual Studio Express consist of:
Visual C#,
Visual Basic,
Visual C++,
"Visual Web developer".
So to answer the original question here I think that Visual Web developer is one part of the whole disk called Visual Studio. But don't go there if you do not have to:
I am currently upgrading from Visual Studio 2008 because of the bug in .Net 2.0 / 3.5 related to not being able to work with (not recognizing) Internet Explorer 10, but now I get bugs related to App_GlobalResources. The whole Globalization function just does not work anymore. I am in a Hackathon nightmare of 48 hours trying to survive. I think that MS wanted to get you all on board with the free express edition but it is payback time now. I think I am going back to Uniface which is upward compatible. Once again, there is no such thing as free!!!

Where can I get add-ins for visual studio express?

There is countless add-ins on http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/ but it seems they are all not for visual studio express (I use visual studio 2010 C# express in my laptop).
But extension manager does provide links to the site so I wonder how can I add-ins for VS express in the site?
Visual Studio Express does not support add-ins.
If you are student, you may be able to get full version (Professional) from either MSDN AA or from DreamSpark. Otherwise you are out of luck (unless you purchase it yourself).
EDIT: You may also try SharpDevelop. It is open-source alternative to Visual Studio. It does not support Visual Studio extensions, but it does support its own extensions. And it may have the features you are looking for.
EDIT Dec 2014: There is now a Visual Studio Community Edition which is free for noncommercial and some commerical uses and does support add-ins!

Can Visual Studio 2010 Express connect to Team Foundation Server 2010?

I know VS 2010 Pro/Premium/Ultimate include TFS connectivity, does VS 2010 Express?
No it doesn't.
See this SO question (What is “missing” in the Visual Studio Express Editions?) - one of the bullet points is no Team Explorer support, meaning to TFS integration.
On this Microsoft page for VS 2010, you can see the the Pro edition with MSDN essentials subscription has none of the TFS features out of the box, suggesting that this is also the case for the express SKUs.
I'm not sure if you can install this http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=329
Though i don't know why you wouldn't be able to install TFS support for free, since microsoft provides a free plugin for Eclipse that you can use.
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=4240
If you log onto codeplex, it will give you a free key to use this.
Edit: The following link makes it seems like you can use it in VS
https://tfs.discountasp.net/KB/a843/visual-web-developer-20052008-and-visual-studio-2010-express.aspx
While Visual Web Developer 2005/2008 and Visual Studio 2010 Express will not directly integrate with Team Foundation Server, you can still use the Team Explorer application to connect to your server to check files out for editing.
Assuming that you have already
installed Visual Web Developer
2005/2008 or Visual Studio 2010
Express on your workstation, perform
the following step:
Download and install Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer 2010 - ISO.
