Can anybody explain how to make data table column headers sortable in LibreOffice Calc with little up and down buttons at the end of the header cell like in Excel?
I am using it on Ubuntu 14, if that is relevant.
This is part of the AutoFilter feature:
Make sure the columns have headers (otherwise, the first data row will be used as header...)
Select Columns
Menu Data -> Filter -> AutoFilter.

First, here is the link to my sheet:

If you look at the tab called "Selection", I have two columns called "Select". All the data in these tables is collected by a query function, except column "Select". In that column, I need to add Data Validation (a simple Yes or No). I want the Data Validation to be automatically added when a new row is created but the query function instead of having to add or remove it manually every time I make some changed. Data collected by the query function is using the two variables on top of the sheet (minimum rating and global buff).
Just to show the step to apply data validation to your whole column, see the following image. Under Cell Range, the image shows Selection!D5:D99, but this is actually set to Selection!D5:D999, it just is truncated due to the size of the text box.
Let us know if this is what you were looking for, or if I've misunderstood your issue.
I have seen at times, datagridviews using an extra cell placed right under the Header of the column, as a filter for the values in the specific column.
I know it is possible to do so through a templatefield in ASP but I need to alter a desktop application using a DataGridView to display the data.
Does anyone know how to add a filter row to the grid in a vb net desktop application?
If I place a textbox right below the header row of the grid, I will hide the first row of data and I want to avoid this; if I place a textbox somewhere on the form, it looks pretty tacky.
Thank you for any suggestion.
I am fairly new to BIRT reports.
In the BIRT reports designer I have added a 2nd row to my table which is binded to a data set. In this 2nd row I want 1 column from my data set to take up the whole row.
So what I did was to add the second row and merge all the columns in that row to form one column. I then added a text field with Dynamic HTML Text.
<VALUE-OF>row["ITEMDESCRIPTION"]</VALUE-OF>
The problem I have is that the data is not taking the whole row. It is being wrapped into only a small section of the row. I must be missing something. Can someone help me with this pls.
I'm attaching both the way the end report looks like and also the screenshot of the set up in the designer.
End Result
Designer (you can see all the rows merged in the second row of the table and in the properties i can see a colspan of 10 for that single column)
thanks
I've found out that the asnwer to this question is to make the field element inline style rather than block and also to check the No Wrapping check box for this field int he designer.
i am very new to Birt Tool,
my Question is,
I Did Row spaning in Cross tab by using different rows, now i want to insert heading for each row,
Could anyone help me
The reason this never got an answer is that Eclipse has not yet provided this long-awaited and much requested feature: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=261995
Several work-arounds though. If you've found something that works well, let us all know.
one workaround which i use is add a grid on top of the rows with same number of columns as in the crosstab and 1 row .
Now you can add labels in the grid for static headers
If you want dynamic headers you can choose the data from the pellete
I want to fix some columns so that user cannot drag and drop these columns and cannot reorder these columns also.Is it doable how can i do it.
There is code inside grid.jqueryui.js that uses the jQuery UI Sortable Interaction to enable drag-and-drop columns.
The following selector determines which columns can be dragged-and-dropped:
"items": '>th:not(:has(#jqgh_'+tid+'_cb'+',#jqgh_'+tid+'_rn'+',#jqgh_'+tid+'_subgrid),:hidden)',
So basically the selector will choose any column header that is not hidden and does not satisfy one of the following criteria:
#jqgh_'+tid+'_cb' - A checkbox column (for multi-select)
#jqgh_'+tid+'_rn' - A row number column (for primary key?)
#jqgh_'+tid+'_subgrid - A subgrid column
To satisfy your request, jqGrid would have to be modified to populate the items selector with blacklisted columns. Maybe the blacklisted columns could be flagged using a new colmodel option. This is all do-able, but requires changes to jqGrid itself...
