I am trying to connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 online from SSDT 2012 through Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring extension (Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch) but I am unable to connect.
I am getting following error.
Unable to connect to data source 'DataSource1'. The connection to server "https://Organization_Name.crm.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc" could not be established. Make sure that the connection string and credentials are correct, and try again.
Please see attached image.
After some googling, I have found something strange, I don't know whether it is correct or not.
It seems like, for Dynamics CRM 365 online version, we should have Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fetch into the Type drop-down in above specified image.
So, I am wondering, how to get this, because I have already downloaded the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring extension from this link.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
I have a problem very similar to this post
I have installed "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extension" for Dynamics CRM 2015. Installed BIDS for Sql Server 2012 and working with VS 2013 Community Edition. Windows Live sign-in assistant is also installed.
I created a new project with Business Intelligence/Report Server Project and went on to Add New Data Source but see the following list with no option for "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch"
Apparently, there seems to be no errors. Can anyone give me some ideas or suggestions on what to do to resolve this issue?
Thanks,
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Report Authoring Extension (with SQL Server Data Tools support) doesn't support VS 2013. Here is part of System Requirements:
The following components are required:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012
-- OR --
Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server Data Tools
To install SQL Server Data Tools, on the PC running Visual Studio 2010 go to the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express download page,
download the following files appropriate to your CPU architecture and
language:
ENU\x64\SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe
ENU\x86\SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe
Select the "SSDT" or "SQL Server Data Tools" installation.

Currently I'm using Microsoft Dynamics® CRM Online Spring '14
(6.1.3.119) (DB 6.1.1.1847) and we have installed the CRM Email router 2013, we are planning to upgrade to Dynamics CRM 2015.
Can I upgrade the CRM Email Router 2013 to 2015 while using Dynamics CRM Spring 14?
I found a link to do that(https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531069.aspx#BKMK_Upgrade2013) but it doesn't say if is backwards compatible also the link to downoad the Email Router 2015 says you need "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017
After waiting for some help I decided to answer my own question by installing the Email Router Versoin 2015 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017 in a new server, I pointed one of the profiles to CRM 2013 and the result was:
"Incoming Status: Failure -The Email Router service that is installed is not a supported version. The Email Router version is later than expected by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server at https://...organization".
Confirmed Email Router is not backwards Compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.
Can anyone please help me understand the difference.
Is it that dynamics CRM 2013 is on-Premise?
There are two Version's of MS Dynamics CRM Online and On-Premise.
CRM Online is hosted by Microsoft.

I have a sharePoint Web Application using claims based.
On My development Client (Visual studio 2012 and business Intelligence 2012) I'm trying to make a connection to a sharePoint list with the user/password it's telling me Forbidden 403. I've also tried integrated but it tells me that is integrated not supported for this connection type (XML and/or SharePoint List)
Is there any way to connect to this SharePoint 2010 list under Claims based from SSRS 2012 Dev client?
I'm sure I'll have another set of issues once the report is deployed. Like if I can get a native SSRS server (not SP integrated) to use Claims based.. seperate questions I know, but will it be possible (thinking ahead here) to have an SPO 2013 site on the cloud displaying local SSRS report (not hosted in SharePoint) within SP webparts without a prompt for security?
