Currently I'm using Microsoft Dynamics® CRM Online Spring '14
(6.1.3.119) (DB 6.1.1.1847) and we have installed the CRM Email router 2013, we are planning to upgrade to Dynamics CRM 2015.
Can I upgrade the CRM Email Router 2013 to 2015 while using Dynamics CRM Spring 14?
I found a link to do that(https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531069.aspx#BKMK_Upgrade2013) but it doesn't say if is backwards compatible also the link to downoad the Email Router 2015 says you need "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017
After waiting for some help I decided to answer my own question by installing the Email Router Versoin 2015 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017 in a new server, I pointed one of the profiles to CRM 2013 and the result was:
"Incoming Status: Failure -The Email Router service that is installed is not a supported version. The Email Router version is later than expected by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server at https://...organization".
Confirmed Email Router is not backwards Compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

I know this question doesn't really fit stackoverflow but there isnt' much action on the dynamics crm tags.
Where can I find the installation media for Dynamics 365 on premise? It's not on MSDN. The only thing I have been able to find is an update for 2016 to 365.
Dynamics 365 was not published as a new version. It is an update to 2016, "December 2016 Update for Dynamics 365". You should pull down the 2016 ISO to do an install and then apply the update.
I am trying to connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 online from SSDT 2012 through Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring extension (Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch) but I am unable to connect.
I am getting following error.
Unable to connect to data source 'DataSource1'. The connection to server "https://Organization_Name.crm.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc" could not be established. Make sure that the connection string and credentials are correct, and try again.
Please see attached image.
After some googling, I have found something strange, I don't know whether it is correct or not.
It seems like, for Dynamics CRM 365 online version, we should have Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fetch into the Type drop-down in above specified image.
So, I am wondering, how to get this, because I have already downloaded the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring extension from this link.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Is it even possible to extend a trial version of Dynamics CRM 2016 on premise?
You can't extend a 90 days OnPremise trial, however you can reinstall all again from scratch
I am getting the following when trying to install the CRM 2015 plugin for Outlook:
I have Outlook 2010 32 bit version installed and I downloaded the 32 bit version of the CRM 2015 Outlook plugin.
thanks,
Stephen
This issue was caused by a duplication of ID's in the Sitemap as documented in this blog post:
UNABLE TO CONFIGURE OUTLOOK CLIENT AFTER UPGRADE TO CRM 2015
Did you have a chance to read first three sentences?
It looks like the add-in could connect to the CRM server. Try to contact your system administrator as the error message states.
Can anyone please help me understand the difference.
Is it that dynamics CRM 2013 is on-Premise?
There are two Version's of MS Dynamics CRM Online and On-Premise.
CRM Online is hosted by Microsoft.
