I need to generate proxy class for a WCF service. I got in Windows is with command "SLsvcUtil.exe", however I need to do it in MAC. I have Xamarin Studio running.
Any idea where is the utility in MAC to generate WCF Proxy Class?
Thanks!
Mono does install svcutil.
Since you are using the "Silverlight" enabled svcutil you can try using the moonlight option(?)... I do not use this, so just a guess...

I really hope that someone could help me out with my problem.
I want to start an exe File (VSeeFace - see https://www.vseeface.icu for more information) on my Mac with wineskin. VseeFace is an application for Vtubing.
The application starts normally via Wineskin, but as soon as I try to open my avatar (a .vrm file), the software stops and I don't know why. I have searched everywhere and found nothing about my problem, but perhaps that is also due to my limited knowledge of development skills.
Can anyone help me please?
My Mac:
MacOS Monterey Version 12.4
Radeon Pro 575X 4 GB
My Wineskin Setup:
Wrapper Version Wineskin 2.9.1.5
Engine WS11WineCX64Bit22.0.1-1
Config Utility - Windows-Version 8
VseeFace Software – https://www.vseeface.icu/#download
They also describe how it will work on Linux or maybe Mac,
https://www.vseeface.icu/#running-on-linux-and-maybe-mac
For the Facetracking I run OpenSeeFace (but that seemed to work, I could see the green light of the iMac camera, but I couldn't test it because of my software problem).
I mean I could run the application but on the most important Screen it stops working.
In the debug.log file I noticed the following messages:

I would like to know which framework was used to build Zoom(windows & mac)'s UI.
Is that possible somehow? Would decompiling help?
Zoom's desktop application
You can download Zoom's Linux client and choose Other Linux OS from the drop down menu. Then run the following command in a Linux terminal:
$ tar -xf zoom_x86_64.tar.xz
The execution of the command results in a directory called zoom being created and when you list it's contents using this command:
$ ls zoom
You get the following output:

As you can see, a lot of the filenames start with libQt5 or Qt, so I would assume, that the framework used to develop the Linux desktop client is the Qt Framework. And because the Linux client and the Windows client share the same user interface, they are probably both using Qt.
I am trying to create custom snapshot from some Javascript file. I was able to create a snapshot using the command
mksnapshot.exe snapshot11.js --startup_blob snap.bin
but when I was trying to create an Isolate with this snap.bin file I got this message
The Isolate is incompatible with the embedded blob. This is usually caused by incorrect usage of mksnapshot. When generating custom snapshots, embedders must ensure they pass the same flags as during the V8 build process (e.g.: --turbo-instruction-scheduling).
I am guessing that I need recreate the snapshot with the proper flags but I couldn't find which flags I need to use.

You can invoke ninja with -v to have it print all the commands it executes; e.g. if you compile V8 with:
ninja -v -C out/... v8_monolith
then you'll find a line for the mksnapshot invocation in the output, and can copy the flags from there. (If you have already compiled V8, ninja will say "nothing to do"; in that case you can either clean out everything, or just delete snapshot_blob.bin and libv8_monolith.so.)
I have successfully built OpenDDS 3.13.2 from source. Here is my environment:
Windows 10
Visual Studio 2017 (re-targeted Solution to SDK 10.0.17763.0)
Tried all Configuration/Platform combinations
I successfully used the configure script from the VS command prompt, built everything by opening the generated solution in the same command prompt, and finally ran the Messenger example (publisher and subscriber), and even configured it to use RTPS successfully.
However, when I try to create my own IDL and use the tao_idl, it crashes. Here's my test (using the proper environment from setenv.cmd):
> tao_idl (no args)
IDL: No input files
Second test:
> tao_idl Test.idl (crashes)
I get no error message, and am unable to locate logs or any indication of what went wrong. The same thing happens when I used opendds_idl.
What is the best approach to debug this, and/or are there pre-built binaries available for the IDL compiler(s) (both TAO and OpenDDS)?
After about a day of troubleshooting, I have determined a solution. Despite being able to call tao_idl and opendds_idl yourself, you should basically never do it. There are a good amount of command-line arguments needed to get both to work, and if they're not present, each exe will crash without the proper reasoning why.
I will add my steps below to create a new basic two-exe pub/sub project using OpenDDS:
Create your own IDL file.
Starting with the DCPS Messenger example, modify the .mpc file, replacing Messenger.idl with your IDL file name.
Create a new file called <your project>.mwc, and add the following contents:
workspace {
// the -relative and -include cmdlines make it so this workspace
// does not have to be in the $DDS_ROOT directory tree.
// tell MPC to substitute our DDS_ROOT environment variables for relative paths
cmdline += -relative DDS_ROOT=$DDS_ROOT
// tell the projects where to find the DDS base projects (*.mpb)
cmdline += -include $DDS_ROOT/MPC/config
}
Open a new VS command-line terminal and run $DDS_ROOT/setenv.cmd, or open a regular terminal if you have those environment variables set via Windows settings.
Navigate to your project directory and call: mwc.pl -type vs2017, replacing "vs2017" as needed for your build tool/IDE.
Open up the generated solution, and retarget it as necessary for your Windows SDK version.
Build the <your project>_IDL project first. If you notice in the output window, it is invoking the tao_idl and opendds_idl commands automatically. You can view the .vcxproj files to see the full command-line arguments that were the original problem.
Modify the publisher.cpp, subscriber.cpp, and DataReaderListenerImpl.cpp files to match your new IDL. Run the example as usual and ta-da!
For completeness, the full commands for both tao_idl and opendds_idl are as follows:
> opendds_idl -Sa -St "<your file>.idl"
> tao_idl -Wb,pre_include=ace/pre.h -Wb,post_include=ace/post.h -I$(TAO_ROOT) -Sa -St -I$(DDS_ROOT) "<your file>.idl"
> tao_idl -Wb,pre_include=ace/pre.h -Wb,post_include=ace/post.h -I$(TAO_ROOT) -Sa -St -I$(DDS_ROOT) "<your file>TypeSupport.idl"
I am trying to add new version resource string to .exe file using verpatch.
I need to add new sting to version resource as I am creating test connector to Qlikview. For QlikView and Qlik Sense to be able to recognize an .exe file as a connector, the file version information resource must include the property “QlikView Connector”.
I am developing my connector with Visual Studio and this command is run as a post build command and build ends with error. I also tried to run it from command line with same result:
C:\verpatch>verpatch.exe C:\QV_temp\QVTestConnector.exe /s "QlikView Connector" "Qv Test Connector"
Exception in ParseBinaryVersionResource
Error in ParseBinaryVersionResource
error parsing version info from the file
Some of actions failed, exiting
I have also tried different versions on verpatch.exe. Any ideas?
The example that Qlik gives on their documentation does not seem to work with the version of verpatch.exe that ships with QVX SDK 2.1.
I resolved this error by updating to a newer version from CodePlex.
Edit:
verpatch seems to have moved to https://github.com/pavel-a/ddverpatch/releases
Please see documentation. After /s should go "description".
If it has problem reading existing version resource, try to rewrite it completely with /va. So, do something like:
verpatch your.exe 1.0.0.0 /va /s desc "QlikView Connector" /s product "Qv Test Connector"
If you can share the problematic exe with the author of verpatch (on Codeplex), he may provide a fix.
I couldn't set properties on my executable with any version of verpatch - because I had a different codepage in the resource strings.
I would recommend rather using the Python package pe-tools (PyPI), which has a nicely documented command peresed that does this (docs).
You can also set specific version-info fields or set resource entries to the contents of a file:
peresed filename.exe -V "QlikView Connector=Qv Test Connector"
I have run this command successfully, but not verified whether the properties were set - but other properties like FileDescription are set correctly.
