Upgrading from PHP 5.3 to 5.6.26 - visual-studio

I need to upgrade my version of PHP from 5.3 to 5.6.26.
I went over this tutorial to upgrade PHP but after following the steps my WampServer is stuck # orange never goes green.
https://john-dugan.com/upgrade-php-wamp/
So, I am looking for some advice on the steps I need to take before moving forward.
I believe I may need to upgrade my version of Visual Studio to V11 for PHP 5.6.26 to work.
Will I need to update my version of WampServer for this to work also?
I hope not. I know its an old version, but the tutorials I have seen to do this correctly, making sure all current DB's are backed up and and MySQL folders saved, seems extensive and not understanding all the steps could be error prone for me.

Windows 10
WampServer - 2.2
PHP - 5.6.26 - Thread Safe version
Apache - 2.2.21
MySQL - 5.5.20
Visual Studio - MSVC9 (Visual C++ 2008)

Magento 1.9.3.6 Connect not showing available Community Extension Upgrades

My Magento install is not showing any available upgrades for Community Extensions.
When I run mage from the command line I receive No updates available (Magento is up to date). It does show the installed modules so no problem with the packages.xml.
To test I restored an older version and re-ran the upgrade, this shows me all of the current Magento core upgrades. However nothing for the extensions (which mirrors what I see with the live install)
If I log into Magento Connect it shows all my installed extensions and their versions but nothing in the column that shows the available version.
n98-magerun :sys:check shows no problems
I have googled and tried everything I can think of and can't figure it out
We are running CentOS 7.4
Any pointers would be very helpful :)
Thanks
Darren

api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing when starting xampp control panel

Iam facing this .dll error and I can't solve it.
This programme can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll
is missing from your computer.Try reinstalling the program to fix this
problem.
When Iam opening XAMPP Control Panel
How do I solve that?
In newer version of xampp this error came.
you can use older version to get ride from this error.
or you can Update your Windows Version to the most Current.
or Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Re distributable Update 3. You may need to download the x64 and x86 versions. (LINK TO MICROSOFT PAGE)
or If you're not using Windows 10, you could also try updating your Universal C Runtime for Windows (LINK TO MICROSOFT PAGE)
The best solution is to downgrade and download
PHP 5.6.39
Or
PHP 7.0.3
There are lot of solution available but most of them don't work.

Sitecore 8 Installation Guide

I am trying to install Sitecore 8. I got an error saying "SQL Server Version Not supported - SQLServer (10.50.1600.1)" I tried to find installation document to know database requirements. I could not find anywhere, may be i am looking in wrong place.
doc.sitecore.net
kb.sitecore.net
Could some one point me out in right direction.
Found it finally,
For someone like me searching the whole internet here is the link
Sitecore 8 installation Guide
Checkout How To Install and Configure Sitecore for the complete guide on installing latest version of sitecore.
Sitecore 8.1 has a specific requirement for the operating system, IIS web server, .Net framework and the database server. Follow the detail sitecore guide for installing the sitecore properly.
IIS Requirements for Sitecore 8.1
IIS 8.5
IIS 8.0
IIS 7.5
IIS 7.0
.NET Framework and Database Requirements for Sitecore
To install Sitecore 8.1 you would need minimum version of .net framework 4.5 and above. Sitecore requires miminum MS Sql server 2008 R2 SP1 or above editions like SQL server 2012, SQL server 2014 and MongoDB Database 2.6x
The site appears to be in beta, so the accepted answer is no longer working.
It appears that the best recommendation, as of now, is to view the general Sitecore 8 downloads page, find the version you want documentation for, and then scroll down that version's page to find the documentation.
Given how hard it is to find the Sitecore 8 page (I had to search their new beta community forums), I much prefer the old SDN site.

How to install DNN Upgrade Package 07.00.05 - I have DotNetNuke Community Edition 06.00.00 (2982) hosted on iHostASP.Net

I am more of a DNN end user and not a DNN developer.
When I bought my DNN hosting package from iHostASP.Net about 2 years ago, version 6.0 was the current version for the community edition and iHostASP.net set it up for me. I did not make much use of the website until now and I am planning to relaunch my website.
I see that 7.00.05 is the latest community and if I got to the DNN website from the upgrade prompt from my DNN instance, I am taken to http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Downloads.aspx
from where all I can do is download a zip file.
How do I have this upgrade package installed? What I have on iHostASP.net is a website setup, so I don't have full access to the server itself. All I can access is the Helm Control panel for my website.
I have host access to my website, but can't see how I can have the zip file uploaded or installed in my DNN instance.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Does anyone know of any breaking changes in this upgrade from 6.0.0 to 7.0.05? I am not using any outside module other than what is supplied out of the box in a default DNN community edition.
Thank in advance.
Suggested upgrade path recommends upgrading first to the latest DNN 6, and then to the latest DNN 7. At the moment, this means first upgrading to 06.02.07, and then to 07.00.05.
This is just a recommendation, though. If you get upgrade errors, or the site doesn't work as expected, I would try again with the suggested upgrade path.
DNN system requirements have changed substantially between versions 6 and 7. Support for Windows 2003 servers has been dropped, but I doubt IHostASP.NET has used these for a while.
You likely have FTP access with IHostASP, if so, you can watch this video for how to perform an upgrade
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/Video/244/View/Details/Upgrading-A-DotNetNuke-Site-Via-FTP.aspx
You should also check out the Wiki http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Upgrading-DotNetNuke.aspx
Be absolutely sure to back everything up first though, if you don't know how, ask your hosting provider what backup options they provide.

.net framework 4 on windows server 2008

Ive got an issue, wich I just can not figure out how to fix. Ive got a pc with windows server 2008 and .net frameork 4.5 installed on it. Ive tried to run there appliction, that is running on .net framework 4.5, but it shows me an error .net framework 4 requied. Ive uninstalled NF4.5 and installed NF4 and.... the error is still there. Ive tried to compile a different application targetting .nf4(just a default informs project in VS) and it shows me the same error hen running on this PC. Searching gave me no results on this issue... Maybe somebody could help me?
Thank You very much for your attention and sorry for my bad english.
I found the solution some time ago, but had no time to answer it here. As I found out it as windows server 2008 RC, not release version and .net framework 4 or 4.5 coul be installed on it, but it will never pass the check if it is installed. So? it is a bug, but only in RC version, that is not supported by microsoft quite a long time.
