.net framework 4 on windows server 2008 - windows

Ive got an issue, wich I just can not figure out how to fix. Ive got a pc with windows server 2008 and .net frameork 4.5 installed on it. Ive tried to run there appliction, that is running on .net framework 4.5, but it shows me an error .net framework 4 requied. Ive uninstalled NF4.5 and installed NF4 and.... the error is still there. Ive tried to compile a different application targetting .nf4(just a default informs project in VS) and it shows me the same error hen running on this PC. Searching gave me no results on this issue... Maybe somebody could help me?
Thank You very much for your attention and sorry for my bad english.

I found the solution some time ago, but had no time to answer it here. As I found out it as windows server 2008 RC, not release version and .net framework 4 or 4.5 coul be installed on it, but it will never pass the check if it is installed. So? it is a bug, but only in RC version, that is not supported by microsoft quite a long time.

Silverlight 5.0 debugging issue on Windows 10

I've recently upgraded my OS to Windows 10. I have a very basic Silverlight 5 application which gives me Unable to start Debugging. The Silverlight Developer Runtime Not Installed. Please Installed a matching version error in VS 2010 whenever I am trying to run the project.
I have :
Target Silverlight version is set to Silverlight 5 in web project.
I have installed Silverlight SDK, Silverlight5_Tools with SP1 installed & Silverlight Runtime which is 64-bit.
After doing all these steps and going through many online posts, still I'm unable to resolve this issue.
My Doubts are :
Do the Windows 10 upgrade has anything to do with this situation?
Windows 10 comes with a new browser Edge, is this because of this browser? Like Silverlight compability.
Again I am not sure but these are my doubt. Any suggestions?
Do you have a 64 bit OS ?
If so - uninstall Silverlight (developer!) and make sure you install the silverlight.exe (developer!) not the 64 bit version.
That worked for me.
HTH
Go to the properties of the Web folder start project. Click Web on the left tab. Unclick Silverlight in the debuggers.
Not a total solution but at least it allows you to debug other portions.
I had this issue and Uninstalling and Reinstalling didn't work.
Error in debug mode (F5 Debug solution configuration) was "Unable to start debugging. The Silverlight Developer Runtime is not installed"
In Debug configuration I would get the above error but finally I put the solution into release mode and it worked - then back to debug mode and everything worked without error.
Seems like a really odd fix but sure enough closing and re-opening the solution everything works now - Same install procedure as OP.
Another thing that's interesting is, the Debug only works in Chrome. If I target IE or edge I still get "Unable to start debugging. The Silverlight Developer Runtime is not installed"
I uninstalled Silverlight and then installed Silverlight_Developer.exe. I also switched default browser in Visual Studio to Internet Explorer (I have Edge otherwise which won't work...).
Nice to see some more people also using Silverlight these days, hehehe.
This is a really old thread, but I just ran into this issue with a project. I was getting the message that the Developer runtime was not installed, but in fact it was, and another similar project ran just fine on the same machine with the same version of VS 2015.
The fix was to ensure that the startup project is the WEB project, not the Silverlight project. Somehow, the default startup project got switched to the SL project. After I switched back, then it worked just fine.

Visual Studio 2012 Fatal error 0x80131c39

I am going bloody insane, I have installed a different type of Windows 8 (pro) at work, and now VS12 gives me this error. At home I have home edition W8 and everything works fine. I found ONLY ONE PERSON encountering this error EVER in Google, and he solved this by switching to .Net 3.5. But I am running an XNA 4.0 game (with a hack to make it work on VS12) and I don't have this option. Has anyone else EVER encountered something like this?

Error while running MVC3 Application after reinstalling also

My issue still persist. Reference to the thread Error while running MVC3 Application
Though I marked it as an answer as it did resolved my issue after reinstalling MVC3 but after 8 days this issue reappears but this time every single effort is failed:
I installed MVC 3 after uninstalling it:
I installed MVC 3 by Web Installer.

but the same error is displayed. Any suggestion ?
Please help.
Can you go to Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio and check the version? It should say 10.0.40219.1 SP1 Rel if you have the service pack installed. Again, this is absolute guess work. If you don't have the SP installed (and the logs don't have anything useful) I'd start by removing the MVC3 tools update, applying 2010SP1, and then reinstalling the MVC3 tools update. If you do have the SP installed, I'm really at a loss and will refrain from making a suggestion on this route unless absolutely necessary. :-)

ASP.NET MVC 3 RC VS10-KB2385361-x86 error (freezing)

I think I'm cursed in some way... I had errors while installing MVC 3 beta. and now the same thing with MVC 3 RC. I've read about this problem here : http://haacked.com/archive/2010/11/09/asp-net-mvc-3-release-candidate.aspx. But after uninstalling all the mvc-beta-nuget-asppages stuff I have the same thing hanging - this VS10-KB2385361-x86 error.
I'm on Win7 x64, and using VS 2010 x64. What might be the solution to all this? (I don't want to reinstall the whole VS because of it).
OK. I've managed to install it (after 2 days trying).
Here is what I've done:
Uninstalled ASP.NET MVC 3 run-time components,ASP.NET Web Pages run-time components. (doesn't work after this);
Reinstalled VS 2010 ( still freezes);
Launched VS (just did some work, nothing special, just writing code), then I tried installing MVC 3 RC again (it got frozen), after a while I launched installer again having the firs one opened (it prompted some message saying another installation is running), and some real magic happened because first installer suddenly started working and installed whole thing.
Don't know how it works, but everything is running well (so far).
I found this problem yesterday, but i resolve it today, ohye
1、unzip AspNetMVC3Setup.exe to a folder
2、In the AspNetMVC3Setup folder, you can install aspnetwebpages.msi and aspnetmvc3.msi and other install
I am a chinese ,so I english is not good, I found other people has the same prblem, hope you can tell them
This is due to it needing the visual studio cdrom. If you installed from MSDN mount the iso and it should work. Just tested this and it worked.
I had the same problem on Windows 7 32-bit on the first attempt, but it worked on the second try with no changes to the system. If you see this issue it's worth retrying at least one more time before trying other things.

Problem with Visual Studio 2010 with Windows 7 RC1

Has anyone run into the error where your upgrading a VS2008 project which targets .NET 3.5 to VS2010 and the error message states that you don't have .NEt 3.5 installed?
Snippet from the error message below
"is targeting ".NETFramework, Version=v3.5, Profile=Full", which is not installed on this machine"
I know that running multiple unreleased products together increases my changes for failure, but I would still like to try.
Well, at this time, this error appears to be a bug in VSTS2010.

Please vote for the bug in MS Connect if you have this problem as well.
