IntelliJ Idea 2016 memory problems on OSX - macos

I just updated to Idea 2016.3.2. And keep getting this error.
There is not enough memory to perform the requested operation. Please
increase 'Xmx' setting and restart the IDE for change to take effect.
The last thing i did was to increase the Xmx memory option to 2048 in the idea.vmoptions file (as instructed by this answer How to increase IDE memory limit in IntelliJ IDEA on Mac?)
But it keeps runing out of memory still.
Does anyone know what I need to do?
... after looking into it some more it now seems to me like it's a git process that causes the memory failure. initiated when I open a git managed project.

Is there any rouge process or something blocking in background ?
You didn't write your version, topology (single, network deployment), nor way you deploy your app (console, wsadmin ohter).
As you can see in the log, there is OutOfMemoryError during EJB deploy call.
You need to increase memory for ejb deploy you can either set it file or in OS level. Check this post Getting OutofMemory condition while deploying a large application in WebSphere Application Server
1) Set it in install-root/deploytool/itp/EJBDeploy.sh file
EJBDEPLOY_JVM_HEAP="-Xms1024 -Xmx1024" at the beginning of the
ejbdeploy.sh file.
2) Set it in operating System Environment.
Set EJBDEPLOY_JVM_HEAP= '-Xms1024 -Xmx1024' in OS environment
variable.
I'd also increase memory for your admin server in AdminAgent01 profile, as it looks like you are using admin agent.
Recommend not to update the ejbdeploy.sh. When update the WebSphere to a new fixpack, the ejbdeploy.sh will be restored.
Increasing heap size through admin console
login to admin console
go to "System administration" > "Deployment manager" > "Configuration" tab > "Server Infrastructure" section on the right > "Java and Process Management" > "Process definition"
"Additional Properties" section on the right > "Environment Entries"
"New" entry by providing the Name EJBDEPLOY_JVM_HEAP and value "-Xms256m -Xmx1024m"
Save and synchronize
restart the DM server

IntelliJ community edition 2018.2 Unable to import maven project: See logs for details

I am using IntelliJ on Mac OS Mojave and having an issue loading maven projects in the IDE
I updated my IntelliJ to latest version i.e. 2018.2 community edition
Updated my JDK to 11.0.1
updated maven to 3.5.4
Now I am not able to see maven projects in my IDE and my IDE keeps on showing me "Unable to import" error in the events logs window. Strangely I can compile the project using mvn commands from terminal but cant see the maven projects in IDE window.
error screen shot
I also tried to check the logs which has following in it. I have made sure that Java version used by IntelliJ is version 11. I also tried clearing the idea folder as suggested for other similar questions but that did not help either

Finally, I managed to solve it by uninstalling IntelliJ, deleting all the setting from current and previous versions of IntelliJ ( ⁨Users⁩/⁨/⁨Library⁩/ ⁨Preferences⁩) and then reinstalling it again
Before that , I tried all the following as suggested in various posts that did not help much in my case
Cleaning up .idea folder
setting up PATH variables correctly
Using maven from installed directory instead of bundled option
Most important part was cleaning up the old settings and a simple reinstall did not work for me.
What I am not sure still is that what was causing "Invalid options -d64" error from those settings. But finally now I can try out latest Java, Maven and IntelliJ
Thanks.
It's a known issue with JDK 10/11: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-195143. Bug is fixed in 2018.3
It seems you are running Maven with an unrecognized option, -d64, and that's causing that error. Check your Maven settings in IntelliJ.

I have found a similar question - IntelliJ IDEA: StackOverflowError on Build Project , but the solution there - setting -Xss4m did not help me.
I think this error might be in some way connected with my settings.xml Maven file because I modified it after clearing IDEA's settings. However, I cannot understand why it leads to this error.
I would very much appreciate any help on the subject.
The solution (a pretty straightforward one) was to completely reinstall IDEA with dropping all the configurations and plugins. Reinstalling IDEA while keeping configuration hadn't worked before, so most likely I had some misconfiguration in its settings files.
I ran into this problem after loading and unloading modules repeatedly. Changing the stack size didn't help, and the build worked from the command line with Maven.
I did File->Invalidate Caches / Restart... and that fixed it.

Can't Build Project by Gradle Operation Timeout Issue

I have trying to configue the setup and rebuild the project again but there has alwasy Operation Timeout. WOuld you please tell me how to setup gradles in local ? Even I have changed the link as :

MobileFirst v7.0 Operations Console shows "No runtimes installed" despite Server Configuration Tool showing Runtime. Some errors in logs

This one has me beat, I've looked around at a lot of other posts/questions both on Stack Overflow and elsewhere, as well as spoken to some IBMers who don't know the cause either.
I have set up a MobileFirst Platform Server in a VM as per the instructions in the knowledge centre for v7.0 "Tutorial for a basic installation of MobileFirst Server" (using DB2 as the Database). I have followed every step, yet at step #9, the Operations Console does not actually show the runtime as I would expect. This means I am unable to deploy the adapters etc. to be able to test the app properly on a physical device. (Eventually this VM will have public IP exposure so we can use/demo the application on any internet connection).
The application Center etc. deployed to the server is working fine and I have been able to connect my phone and tablet to it to download the deployed APKs and install them fine. It's just this runtime issue that's not working.
There are a few messages in the logs, that based on my research indicate errors that can either be ignored, or that were already fixed in 6.3. I'd love for someone to be able to shed some light on what's causing the issue, this is driving a few of us bananas. We believe it may be something to do with a JMX or SSLSocket error but cannot actually figure out the exact cause or how to rectify it (as we're not using ssl at all that we know of).

Check this post - you cannot use full profile Java SDK by default with Liberty as it is configured to different SSLFactory.
You either need to:
- switch to Oracle JVM
- use separately downloadable IBM SDK for Liberty
- make following changes in the Liberty config:
Create jvm.options file with the following content:
-Djava.security.properties=./custom.java.security
Create custom.java.security in the same directory as jvm.options file you just need these two, nothing more:
ssl.SocketFactory.provider=
ssl.ServerSocketFactory.provider=
After some discussions about this error message, the suggestions to solve this are:
To either use a different JRE (Oracle JRE 6 or 7, or IBM JRE 6 or 7 outside of WAS Full Profile).
And/or follow the instructions in the doc link here:
