MobileFirst v7.0 Operations Console shows "No runtimes installed" despite Server Configuration Tool showing Runtime. Some errors in logs - websphere-liberty

This one has me beat, I've looked around at a lot of other posts/questions both on Stack Overflow and elsewhere, as well as spoken to some IBMers who don't know the cause either.
I have set up a MobileFirst Platform Server in a VM as per the instructions in the knowledge centre for v7.0 "Tutorial for a basic installation of MobileFirst Server" (using DB2 as the Database). I have followed every step, yet at step #9, the Operations Console does not actually show the runtime as I would expect. This means I am unable to deploy the adapters etc. to be able to test the app properly on a physical device. (Eventually this VM will have public IP exposure so we can use/demo the application on any internet connection).
The application Center etc. deployed to the server is working fine and I have been able to connect my phone and tablet to it to download the deployed APKs and install them fine. It's just this runtime issue that's not working.
There are a few messages in the logs, that based on my research indicate errors that can either be ignored, or that were already fixed in 6.3. I'd love for someone to be able to shed some light on what's causing the issue, this is driving a few of us bananas. We believe it may be something to do with a JMX or SSLSocket error but cannot actually figure out the exact cause or how to rectify it (as we're not using ssl at all that we know of).

Check this post - you cannot use full profile Java SDK by default with Liberty as it is configured to different SSLFactory.
You either need to:
- switch to Oracle JVM
- use separately downloadable IBM SDK for Liberty
- make following changes in the Liberty config:
Create jvm.options file with the following content:
-Djava.security.properties=./custom.java.security
Create custom.java.security in the same directory as jvm.options file you just need these two, nothing more:
ssl.SocketFactory.provider=
ssl.ServerSocketFactory.provider=

After some discussions about this error message, the suggestions to solve this are:
To either use a different JRE (Oracle JRE 6 or 7, or IBM JRE 6 or 7 outside of WAS Full Profile).
And/or follow the instructions in the doc link here:

I understand this is coming from "calculateMd5sum " function that calculates md5 sum of a specified file. However, I have made no changes to any of Nars neither have I added any custom nars. The same instance did launch before.
I have also tried to start afresh by extracting the setup again, however I face the same error. I fail to understand why the issue is coming up all of a sudden. Please help!
I got it.
My java home pointed to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_65"
changed the path to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_121"
It works fine now.

FileNet Configuration Manager fails to connect to WebSphere Application Server

I have an issue with FileNet configuration manager connecting to WAS when configuring CPE. Details are below
OS : Windows 10 Enterprise (This is where CPE 5.5 is installed)
WAS : 8.5.5.13
WAS Java : 1.8_64_bundled
FN Config Details
I'm able to login to WAS console and the SOAP port is also correct.
Things that I tried,
adding -Dhttps.protocols="TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2" in configmgr.ini of FileNet configuration manager
Verified SSL configuration on WAS
But noting seems to work. I see below error message on the FileNet configuration manager logs

*************************telenet response**************************
When did telenet and after a few seconds, I see the below error
HTTP/1.1 408 Request Timeout Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 117 Connection: close <HTML><TITLE>408 - Request Timeout</TITLE><BODY><h1>408 Connection timed out while reading request</h1></BODY></HTML> Connection to host lost. C:\Windows\system32>
*****************************workaround*****************************
Ok once the profile is created and ran first steps, I disabled global security and restarted websphere. Configuration manager is able to connect to WAS now (looks like issue with security. I verified Quality of protection (QoP) settings
with ssl.client.properties and it was selected as TLSv2. Then I changed it to TSLv1.2 and modified ssl.client.properties also. Still it did not work) I will updated this topic later.
Check default path Webshere.
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\your_profile
VS
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\your_profile
The Configuration Manager right now seems to support only older protocols. If you specify TLSv1 in WebSphere console, as opposed to TLSv1.2 for example, Test Connection will work. That will create you another problem though. Newer browsers don't support older protocols and you will not be able to open your WebSphere console in say, Firefox. On Windows, you can use your old but still included IE configured to use these older protocols - Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security -> Use * . You'll get your console back that way.

Nutch 2.3.1 on OSX does not connect to MongoDB

I configured a local Nutch 2.3.1 instance on MacOS 10.11.5 (El Capitan) running in Eclipse as described here: https://wiki.apache.org/nutch/RunNutchInEclipse
As data store to use I configured MongoDB 2.6.12 which is also running on my local MacOS machine. I took the Gora config from here: http://www.aossama.com/search-engine-with-apache-nutch-mongodb-and-elasticsearch/
ivy.xml
<dependency org="org.apache.gora" name="gora-mongodb" rev="0.6.1" conf="*->default" />
gora.properties
gora.datastore.default=org.apache.gora.mongodb.store.MongoStore
gora.mongodb.override_hadoop_configuration=false
gora.mongodb.mapping.file=/gora-mongodb-mapping.xml
gora.mongodb.servers=localhost:27017
# I tried several server settings like localhost, 127.0.0.1, 127.0.0.1:27017, ...
gora.mongodb.db=nutch
I did not change gora-mongodb-mapping.xml.
nutch-site.xml
<property>
<name>storage.data.store.class</name>
<value>org.apache.gora.mongodb.store.MongoStore</value>
<description>Default class for storing data</description>
</property>
If I run the inject command, hadoop.log shows this confusing result:

After two days I've run out of ideas.
Within the log file I can't identify any valuable hint. The MongoDB logs don't show any connection attempts (not to mention an active connection). Using mongo I'm able to connect to the database and requesting http://localhost:27017 shows the expected message ("It looks like you are trying to access MongoDB over HTTP on the native driver port.") and corresponding log file entries. If I switch the data store to Cassandra, injecting works as expected, so Nutch itself also seems to work.
Does anybody know what I'm missing or understand what the hadoop.log is trying to tell me?
Any help would be appreciated! Thx.
Update: I also tried to use this configuration on an Ubuntu 14.04 server - works as expected. So I suppose my issue is related to the connection between Nutch & MongoDB running on a Mac. (If somebody wants to know: I'm trying to get the configuration working on my Mac because I want to do some local development with no need of a server connection.)

NettyConnectorFactory error

I have a Jms Listener inside a tomcat application. The JMS server is a hornetQ server and I use netty connector to connect to it. The connection is successful and works fine, but when tomcat stops, I see the following error in catalina.out

I know this is because tomcat illegally stops the connector but I am not sure how to fix this!
