Error shows while using SMTP sampler in jmeter - jmeter

I have tried using SMTP sampler with the following details,
server: smtp.googlemail.com
port: 587
Address from: gmail account
Address to: gmail account
checked Use Auth
check box and the required username and password of the from
gmail account is given with the subject and message body.
But I'm facing the below sampler result,
Response code: 500
Response message: Other MessagingException: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.googlemail.com, port: 587;
nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Can anyone please help me on this?

You can confirm JMeter network connectivity by adding i.e. HTTP Request sampler and opening a website which definitely exists, i.e. http://example.com
If you get the same "Connection refused" message - most probably you are sitting behind the corporate firewall and you will need to apply some extra configuration so JMeter would use your corporate proxy like:
jmeter -H my.proxy.server -P 8000 -u username -a password
See Using JMeter behind a proxy guide for more information.
If you can send requests to Internet web sites and services successfully - double-check your SMTP Sampler configuration, maybe your config is missing an important setting, i.e. Use StartTLS
Refer Load Testing Your Email Server: How to Send and Receive E-mails with JMeter article for comprehensive explanation and example configurations.

Problem installing SSL Certificade in Go Lang with Echo framework (Client sent an HTTP request to an HTTPS server.)

I have build a Go server using Echo framework, i get TLS certificades and a domain name, but when i try a request i get the message "Client sent an HTTP request to an HTTPS server." and when i try acces the server from the IP address of the EC2 using the port 443, it says that the connection is not secure:
And when i change the server to the port 80 to acces through the domain name, i get the following error:
I'm starting the server using the StartTLS func
e.Logger.Fatal(e.StartTLS(":80", "/etc/letsencrypt/live/anltcsprod.enrtt.com/fullchain.pem", "/etc/letsencrypt/live/anltcsprod.enrtt.com/privkey.pem"))
Is it something wrong with my domain or certificade?
Port 80, by default, communicates over HTTP. 443 is reserved for HTTPS traffic. Assuming nothing else is wrong, you should be able to simply change your e.StartTLS() to this:
e.Logger.Fatal(e.StartTLS(":443", "/etc/letsencrypt/live/anltcsprod.enrtt.com/fullchain.pem", "/etc/letsencrypt/live/anltcsprod.enrtt.com/privkey.pem"))
For example localhost:4000
Instead use https://localhost:4000

Using a proxy that requires authentication with pybliometrics

I am using pybliometrics, a Python interface to the Scopus API, to download the abstracts of some papers.
Unfortunately Scopus only works inside the network of the university that subscribed to it. I am currently at home and whenever I try to download something using pybliometrics it gives me the following error:
pybliometrics.scopus.exception.Scopus401Error: The requestor is not authorized to access the requested view or fields of the resource
I need to use my university's proxy in order to enter the internet with the IP address of my university. The proxy has a WPAD configuration file available, but I fail to realize how to use it with pybliometrics. The pybliometrics documentation says to add a block in the configuration file like this:
[Proxy]
ftp = socks5://127.0.0.1:1234
http = socks5://127.0.0.1:1234
https = socks5://127.0.0.1:1234
But this proxy requires authentication. How can I specify the proxy username and password?
EDIT: I have tried setting up the block in config.ini like:
[Proxy]
ftp = http://username:password#proxy.thing.it:8080
http = http://username:password#proxy.thing.it:8080
https = http://username:password#proxy.thing.it:8080
but it still fails with the following error message:
requests.exceptions.ProxyError: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='api.elsevier.com', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /content/abstract/scopus_id/84983158344?view=META_ABS (Caused by ProxyError('Cannot connect to proxy.', OSError('Tunnel connection failed: 407 Proxy Authentication Required')))
From our perspective the API will work via a proxy as long as the proxy is configured correctly. I would suggest you speak to the provider of the proxy to see if they can help.
We don't have specific instructions on how to use APIs with a proxy (as there are many potential different versions and potential configurations); however, the general instructions are here:
https://service.elsevier.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29026/supporthub/elsevieraccess/
To me your new proxy block looks suspicious. It funnels ftp and https requests through the http as well. Maybe try ftp and https as protocols in the corresponding sections.
The other solution is to ask Scopus Integration Support for an InstToken, which you use instead of a proxy. You then specify the InstToken in the configuration file as well.
The problem was that my proxy requires DigestAuth rather than BasicAuth.

FTP polling in OSB

I've created a ftp server on localhost:21
I created on OSB (I use OEPE to play with OSB) the proxy service called FTPpol
I configured FTPpol in this way:
General configuration(first tab): messaging service
Message Type Configuration: text in message requeste type and i leave the message response type on None
Transport Configuration: protocol: ftp and Endpoint Uri: ftp://127.0.0.1/
FTP Transport Configuration: User Authentication: External User and i use a service account previously created (with the username and password need to access to ftp)
After this configuration I receive a connection error on the console everytime the proxy try the polling. The username and password are correct and the server ftp is up and reachable.
Any suggestion?
My suggestion is to use an adapter for it, as seem here:
https://blogs.oracle.com/MarkSmith/entry/osb_and_ftp_adapter_in_11g

Mail Reader Sampler

I am using the Mail Reader Sampler to read the email from Gmail and get a token Id from the email which is required for our further testing. But all the time I am getting the below error:
Response code: 500
Response message: javax.mail.MessagingException: Connection timed out: connect;
nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
imaps://manish14feb#gmail.com#imap.googlemail.com/INBOX[5]
Response headers:
SampleResult fields:
ContentType:
DataEncoding: null
Can someone help?
I assume you have enabled IMAP in Gmail settings?
Using Gmail might be not a very good idea as it has i.e. limits on simultaneous connections and if you checking your mailbox in multithreaded manner you might be blocked.
Check whether you can receive email using POP3 protocol and the following configuration:
Protocol: pop3s
Server Host: pop.googlemail.com
Server Port: 995
Username: manish14feb#gmail.com
Password: your_password
Number of messages to retrieve: I believe it should be 1
Security settings: Use SSL
See Load Testing Your Email Server: How to Send and Receive E-mails with JMeter for settings explained.
And if not - consider setting up your own mail server (better somewhere in your company intranet) so you could have full control of it and won't suffer from any form of limits or security constraints.

FTP Connection Refused (Using FTPZilla)

I have googled and searched all over but I am still having trouble getting connected to a site using the ftpzilla
I am getting this read out when I try to connect to the server using the network connection wizard
Connecting to probe.filezilla-project.org

Response: 200 PORT command successful

The weird thing is I only get this error for this particular server and the server I use for my personal site (namecheap.com) gives me no such error. Does anyone know why this may be happening? And please try not to point me to the network configuration wiki because I have read through that and I still am at this point.

You are using active mode, that is the ftp client (FileZilla) waits for a connection from the server. Obviously the server can not connect to the client which indicates that something like a firewall restricts the connection.
Since according to your description this happens only with few servers, you either use only these servers with active mode or these servers are protected by firewalls which do not allow active mode. Have you tried with passive mode?
I had a similar issue connecting and made the following changes and had success.
Go to File>>>Site Manager>>>
For my site, I changed the Encryption to "Only use plain FTP(insecure)" and had success. May you find the same success.
