I've got a site built on the Genesis framework with Cafe Pro child theme.
http://salat.md/
The main menu has anchor links that scroll to the relevant section of the front page. They work perfectly fine in Firefox, but stopped working in Chrome and Opera.
I've checked the demo site of the Cafe Pro Theme, and the same problem persists.
https://my.studiopress.com/themes/cafe/#demo-full
I didn't build the site and can't reach the guy who built it, so I don't have access to studiopress members' area.
Any input is appreciated.
I'm not using Cafe Pro, but another Genesis child theme and was able to resolve this issue by updating to the latest release of both jQuery.localScroll and jQuery.ScrollTo. The files were both of these were included in my theme's /js/ directory. I updated the files there and then updated the wp_enqueue_script lines to contain the latest version numbers.
wp_enqueue_script( 'localScroll', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/js/jquery.localScroll.min.js', array( 'scrollTo' ), '2.0.0', true );
wp_enqueue_script( 'scrollTo', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/js/jquery.scrollTo.min.js', array( 'jquery' ), '2.1.2', true );
Got the same problem.
It can be related with some domain redirects. Lets say you configured a reverse proxy (like traefik or nginx) that redirects every request from www.example.com to example.com. Therefore, you and your visitors interact with your page over the example.com domain.
If you add a menu entry in WordPress to www.example.com/#about it won't work as expected because your reverse proxy will redirect www.example.com/#about to example.com/#about. Thus, you will end up at the About-Page, but with a hard redirect instead of a smooth scrolling.
If you set the domains correctly, check the included scripts as well if they are embedded as www.example.com/.../script.js. If so, change it by removing the leading www. because some browsers don't like it.

I just installed a SSL certificate on the website and confirmed that it was set-up correctly. But for some reason when visiting the website through HTTPS it gives the error "Not Authorized to View This Page [CFN #0004]". But HTTP works fine.
It's a WordPress website and the htaccess file has not been modified.
What could be the problem?

I've Googled and Googled but cannot find a solution. Called my hosting company, but they're not specialized enough to understand the issue.
First off check this may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
Hello after installing a ssl on my site the image slider has stopped working.
The site isnt woedpress its just a php site thats quite old.
I installed the ssl through namecheaps cpannel & turned the redirect http to https on.
https://www.compare-travel-deals.com/ - my site
http://www.travelsite2.epizy.com/ - how it shold look
I've gone through changing any links i find to http: to https:
Viewing the source i thort it was somthing to do with this line "" but can work out where the link is to change http to https.
Hopefully someone knows.
Nevermind i scanned through the index.php and found the link to the http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js file and changed it to https. And it works now, thanks anyway.
I have also came across similar issue on my website's home page.
When I accessed my website from http to https(means after addition SSL) my image slider stopped working.
I tried below workaround:-
replaced all http links on my home page with https.
I assume in this case all http link should have respective https links available.
After that my image slider started working same like earlier it's working with http.
I have modified the users component of Joomla, specifically the file components/com_users/controllers/profile.php and included some custom templates in components/com_users/views/profile/tmpl
It is mostly some forms which I am submitting and then redirecting to specific pages for further actions.
Example scenario :
Above option is accessible to user right after login. I have put it on the profile page by modifying default profile template.
So when someone enters a name, and presses search, then this form is submitted through form
action="<?php echo JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_users&task=profile.selectSendMessage'); ?>"
This in turn calls the function named selectSendMessage which is placed in profile.php file. The function looks like :
As you can see the function redirects to
index.php?option=com_users&view=profile&layout=sendMessage
I have placed sendMessage.php template in com_users/views/profile/tmpl
Everything works fine on localhost which I have set up on MAMP in MacOS
I moved the website to a live server a few days ago. I have followed all proper steps to migrate website and database from localhost to live server. Still any of the custom templates I have put in are never reached.
The strange thin is that Edit User Profile which is redirected to from the same profile.php file from a function edit(), with template in the same location as I have put in edit.php in views/profile/tmpl works as expected.
I am using 1and1 shared hosting plan 1&1 Unlimited for hosting the website.
I have been trying to fix this for quite some time now, but cannot understand the problem. I have tried reinstalling the website several times, tried installing from web apps from 1&1 control panel and modifying it, but no success.
Any tips and insights are welcome. Thank you.
It turns out that 1and1.com hosting somehow doesn't support layout names with a capital letter in it. I changed all layout names to lower case alphabets and everything worked fine like it should.
If someone faces the same issue, this is worth a try. It was particularly hard to debug since you will never suspect that could be a problem. I accidentally stumbled on the solution while playing around.
Thanks.
I've been trying to set up a CMS page in magento to be the home page, and it's just killing me - how hard should this be? no matter what I set up, I get a 404.
Can somebody tell me basic steps to set up a CMS page as the home page for a Magento install, living at:
http://www.mymagentoinstall.com/
I can't have the url key for the CMS page be empty, but setting the default page in the System->Config->Default Pages->CMS Home Page (which seems like it should work), still gives me a 404.
thx for any help
Hours of head banging later .... I’ve changed the parameter “Use Web Server Rewrites” on System -> Configuration -> Web from Yes to No. And it worked! My provider set this by default, so had to change it. Only downside is that I now get the /index.php extension added.
Did you check to make sure that the page was enabled and visible in your store view?
Ok - figured it out. In the System->Config->Web, the Default Web URL needs to be 'cms' (no quotes) - I guess that tells Magento to use the cms page instead of a default url.
In csm - pages create some html in the page, eg start simple with My Homepage.
Give it a name and take care the url is "home" (without the quotes.
Now go to system - configuration - web and select your homepage (name) from the dropdown where in lets you choose the homepage.
That should do it.
Your CMS Page Identifier should be home
I was running into the same issue. No matter what I did, the home page came back as a 404. I had it working on a test server (with a different database) and compared the options side by side. Absolutely nothing worked, the home page, named 'home' and the 'cms' was properly set, mod_rewrite working, htaccess file just peachy...but domain.com/ wouldn't work. after a few hours I saw that domain.com/home/ did, though I swear it hadn't been.
Finally I wiped the blood off the keyboard where I'd been smashing my head against it and went into url rewrite management and set id path to '/', request path to '/' and target path to '/home/' and it works like it should have all along. Hope this helps someone else!
I have Joomla 1.5.9 running on IIS7. I'm now experimenting with the SEO Settings from the Joomla global configuration page.
First I toyed with Search Engine Friendly URLs (that gets rid of the queries part of URLs); that works fine.
I also tried to enable the "Use Apache mod_rewrite". I installed "Microsoft URL Rewrite Module for IIS 7.0" and added the web.config as per http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/527/joomla-on-iis . When clicking on menu links, this seems to work in that I no longer see index.php in the URL. The address bar updates to what appears like the right URL, but the content shown is always that of the home page. I tried both in IE and Google Chrome with the same result. Refreshing the page after loaded made no difference.
I tried re-starting IIS7, it didn't make a difference.
Edit: After I followed the suggestion below (followed instructions at http://www.mydotnetworld.com/post/2008/10/24/URL-Rewriting-In-Joomla-15-on-IIS-7.aspx :turned on fast cgi, modified php.ini, and imported rewrite rules instead of putting them in a web.config myself), I now get 404's instead of just showing the home page's content. The URL still appears to be correctly rewritten. So, different behavior but still doesn't work. I'm not sure this is useful information, but these two fields are shown in the 404 page:
Requested URL http://localhost:80/joomla_course/seasonal-specialties
Physical Path C:\inetpub\wwwroot\joomla_course\seasonal-specialties
Should the physical path be the 'non-rewritten' URL? Or is it expected that that it be like this?
Edit 2: Oho! I found someone with the same issue posted on Joomla forums: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=543&t=364706&p=1598137#p1598137 . No answer there either, though.
Any idea on how to diagnose (or even better, fix :) ) this?
Thanks!
I got this to work now. The key was to make sure FastCGI is used to run php (as per http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/246/using-fastcgi-to-host-php-applications-on-iis-70 ), and making sure that the "Use Apache mod_rewrite" is enabled. If "Use Apache mod_rewrite" is turned off but the rewrite rules are present in IIS7, then the HTML shows up but none of the styling or images.
The requirement for using FastCGI is weird (and contradicts what is suggested in http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-vista/how-to-create-a-windows-vista-iis7-mysql-php-web-server , which is what I used to setup php in the first place). Everything seems to work when not using FastCGI, except for the URL rewriting.
It seems that either importing the rules (as suggested in http://www.mydotnetworld.com/post/2008/10/24/URL-Rewriting-In-Joomla-15-on-IIS-7.aspx) or manually adding them to a web.config file (as suggested in http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/527/joomla-on-iis ) will work.
It looks like there is something wrong with the rules in the web.config. Just going from a comment on the article you linked you are not the only one having this issue. I would remove the web.config and then follow the steps outlined here.
