When I try to share an article page on Google+ by putting its URL into the post, a preview is displayed with article's title, description and image. The problem is that the showed text is not UTF-8 and does not mean anything - Here is an example of what the post preview displays as an article's decription:
zveřejnà výsledky vyšetřovánà aféry
Try it for yourself - visit this page and try to share it on Google+: https://roklen24.cz/a/pzbmw/kdo-opravdu-stoji-za-burzovnimi-krachy-vinte-pocitace
Facebook sharing works fine, only Google+ is having this issue. It is not just one or two characters problem, each character with punctuation is behaving like that - it's mostly replaced by a character A with different punctuiation - here is an example:
ORIGINAL string: zveřejněné výsledky vyšetřování aféry
DISPLAYED string: zveřejnà výsledky vyšetřovánà aféry
Could You tell what might be causing this problem? Thanks
I think this issue was a bug on the Google side because it used to be working before.
I got the same problem as you said too but it seems to be fixed just few minutes ago.
Now??

I used stackoverflow a lot. But many times when I read questions and try to figure out what people done with changes, unfortunately I cannot see images. Instead only thumbnail is shown.
For example: In this question
A question asked with image that - I think- shows what is wrong. But cannot see the preview or image.
Even if you can check the accepted answer, guy said "Screen shots of my solution" but images still not showing.
This is what shown
So funny that even image I have uploaded for this question is not shown! It says "Cannot reach to i.stack.imgur.com"
Probably your access to i.stack.imgur.com is blocked, by your company or internet provider, as the content can be unpredictable like adult content.
I have this exact same problem, it's so frustrating isn't it!?!
The only solution I have found is I use Epic Privacy Browser which has an in-built proxy. I turn that on and images from i.stack.imgur.com will actually load (whether it's the website itself or a SO post. It's not an ideal solution having to open in another browser, but it's the only solution I have found so far. Weird as my ISP isn't blocking any other site.
I've had this problem in the past where FB scrapes the wrong data, but changing the thumbnail image name has always fixed the problem. However, today I'm unable to get the same result. The error is this:
Debugger screenshot
I've cleared my browser cache, renamed the image, inserted code at the top of the blog post with the image link, and scraped a dozen times in the debugger. My company uses Placester for our web platform (if that means anything to anyone), so I don't have quite as much freedom as with other sites. Can anyone help me with this, but put it in layman's terms?
Hi I have built a joomla search that has been live for a couple of months and is working completely fine. One of the things that I came across last week is when i search in Google for 'MyCompany' then this brings up the link for my site, but underneath the link rather than a brief text about the company all i see is the banner image names that have been used on the site.
Unfortunately I have never really dwelled into the SEO side of the website but would really like to know what I need to do on the site to get this fixed, would really appreciate it if somebody could please advise.
I have an issue that is elsewhere on this website, though I don't see a way to add a comment to it, without being asked to "answer" it.
My website was originally created NOT using UTF-8. We are updating them all now. But late, I know.
But now the German site we built, has this issue of the German characters showing the black diamonds.
We cannot add the longer 'code' for each character as they are words typed into products and menu links. So I assume we have to update our database. I have done this setting it to "utf8_germany2_ci".
I use notepad or notepad2 for writing code. It says "ANSI" in the baseline of the window.
I've read that using "cp850" might be better, but I've not heard of it before now.
Happy to supply screenshots and make any alterations.
I use this to show image and title, but since a few weeks it's not working any more. I can't find why. I read the developer site again, but nothing changed.
Looks fine to me, the debug tool output for your page shows you're missing the necessary meta tags but Facebook's made a guess at the title, etc and it seems OK to me.
When i share that URL the title and description load fine. The only image URL Facebook detected is a 404 error so maybe that's what your problem is, was it displaying OK on Facebook before you removed the image?
