Can't Install ARCore Emulator for Android Studio - bash

I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this question but I really can't figure out how to use ARCore on Android Emulated Device.
According to the official guide I'm supposed to use API 8.1 on pixel/pixel 2 device in order to run any app which uses ARCore. Sadly those emulator don't come with the support for Play Store, and without Play Store I can't Instal ARCore on the device.
The device images that come with built in Play Store can't run ARCore instead. I'm really confused about how am I supposed to test anything for ARCore in this way.
I need it to develop an app for a University program and I need to become familiar with Augmented Reality Development but I can't even get started because of this issue.

For using ARCore Emulator, at first, you have to create a virtual device with support for AR. I'm running Android Studio Dolphin | 2021.3.1 on macOS Monterey 12.6.
I created Pixel 6 Pro virtual device:
ARCore's targetSdkVersion has been set to Android API level 33.
Here are the steps you have to make in order to get a working Emulator:
Set up Android Debug Bridge. I set up adb for Mac.
Download Google_Play_Services_for_AR_1.34.0_x86_for_emulator.apk from GitHub repository.
Run your AVD.
Type in Bash Terminal the following command (to be sure that the port is 5554):
adb devices
Result:
// emulator-5554 device
Go to the folder where Google_Play_Services_for_AR_1.34.0_x86_for_emulator.apk is located. For instance:
cd ~/Desktop
To install Emulator, type in Terminal the following line, while the virtual device is running:
adb install -r Google_Play_Services_for_AR_1.34.0_x86_for_emulator.apk
Repeat previous steps for additional AVDs you’d like to use.

Take it into consideration: Android Emulator does not support such ARCore APIs as: Depth API, Geospatial API or Augmented Faces API. That's because Emulator doesn't have corresponding sensors. When any of these features are enabled, the Emulator picture can't render correctly: a screen will be entirely black, although UI elements drawn on top of the Emulator picture still be rendered.

Sergei's answer was right at the time, but the version of the ARCore app in his link (v1.1.0) is now too old. The following worked for me (after many false starts):

Device: Pixel API 27
System image: Oreo / API Level 27 / ABI x86 / Android 8.1 (Google Play)

Download the ARCore APK to your desktop. In Android Studio, set up and then start the virtual device as specified above, open the Play Store app on it and sign in. Then drag the ARCORE APK file onto the virtual device; it should silently install. Finally, run hellosceneform on the virtual device.

Just install to emulator ARCore_1_1_x86_for_emulator.apk. Just drug to emulator. Check this link https://github.com/google-ar/arcore-android-sdk/releases/tag/v1.1.0

Should I rent a virtual Mac for Flutter development?

I'm going to begin working on cross-developing an app for iOS and Android using Flutter. I have a Windows computer and use Android Studio for mobile development (new to Flutter, but have experience with Android development).
I am going to need to use a Mac at the very least to set up Firebase dependencies in the app, but it is unclear to me how much time I will actually need access to a Mac. I don't want to overpay.
When developing an app with Flutter, do I always need to use XCode to test run the app on an iOS device, even if I have a physical iPod in front of me? For instance, I can use my Android phone with USB debugging to run/test the app on my phone thru Android Studio. Can I do the same thing with an iPod and Android Studio, or does it have to be done through XCode?

If you have a good PC/Laptop with good resources you can use VM Box and install macOS in it. After that you can use it to testing for iOS purposes.
Considering a rent on MAC is probably isn't a good option.
Renting will cost alot and will even go over budget if time is not spent properly. Therefore, in my opinion it would be best to get an old mac mini and maybe upgrade it if you have the budget

Workaround needed for installing minimum OS 4.4 APK on 4.0.4 Android OS

I am trying to install some APKs which have the minimum OS version parameter set to 4.4.4 KitKat and minimum SDK #16.
The platform is the Epson Moverio BT-200 see-through glasses which is basically a tablet.

The BT-200 itself comes without Google Play Store and needs to be rooted and Play Store installed. This part is done.
I also tried to install APKs and edit the build.prop file first. Set the OS version to 4.4.4 but got the exception that minSDK version criteria failed. Tried with ADB install as well. Of course when I set the SDK version in the build.prop file it ruined the installed apps and most of them freezed, suddenly stopped etc.
My question is, how could I "fool" the APK installer to install the APK(s) to get the programs running? Is there a way?
My reason: the BT-200 is a fantastic FPV device with android. The newest BT-300 model has android 5 but while this still works like a charm I'd spend my money rather on beers than another FPV glasses. :)
Any help appreciated.
4.4.4 KitKat is api 19 , did you set your targetsdk to api 19 ? as for minsdk just change it to api 15 . the bt moverio from what i know is either api 15 or api 19, check on your bt moverio glasses what api it supports and then set the target sdk to that api.

unfortunately google play services has stopped in genymotion

Hi friends I added google play service to genymotion emulator,I drag the zip files of gapps and also arm v1 to it but when I opening the emulator its getting unfortunately google play services has stopped and also when I am trying to add account in it showing loading.. can anyone tell me the solution for it.
I faced this same issue.This issue is generally due to not following order of
flashing Gapps appropriately.Being a beginner in android programming.Well, I learnt following things to keep in mind while setting up google play services:
Download the ARM Translation Installer v1.1 and drag and drop the zip file onto the running Genymotion emulator device. The ARM emulator is only needed for apps that trigger a
INSTALL_FAILED_CPU_ABI_INCOMPATIBLE
error.
You must close and restart the emulator fully before continuing.
The Google Play APK package needed is specific to the Android emulator version. You must use the corresponding Google Play Service package. Otherwise, you may notice problems with Google Play not having Internet connectivity or other strange issues.
If you are using below listed specific versions ,sometimes files you are using get corrupted.

Update or reinstall Genymotion and Virtual box :
If you are flashing all gapps apk correctly and you are still facing this issue.
You need to check which version of genymotion and virtual box you are using .Use latest version of genymotion and VB.
Uninstall Genymotion and Virtualbox :
If updating or re-installation doesn't work you need to remove old registry files hidden in your computer which are preventing you from flashing Gapps properly.Repeat steps of flashing mentioned above.
Note: Don't forgot to restart genymotion after flashing files.

'could not get wglGetExtensionsStringARB' for Android Emulator

Actually I have a problem with my Android application in eclipse. When I run my program, it gives me a message which is concluded of many errors.
So I copied and pasted them here to show you what is the exact problem with the emulator. Any ideas?

Try setting the RAM to 512 Mb. It worked for me.
It may be too late to answer this question,but I solved the problem (could not get wglGetExtensionsStringARB) by installing the latest version of my graphics (video) driver.
also from device properties, I have checked 'use host GPU' option. it is working now with the following settings:

This is slightly edge case but my emulator started fine when I was physically at the computer that ran it but when I remoted into that computer (via RDP) and attempted to start the emulator, it failed with these errors.
I believe this is a limitation with the emulator software over remote connections because I went to the physical location of the computer and started the emulator and it worked fine.

How can I test app on older iPhone 3G with iOS v 4.2.1

I have been testing my app on my iPhone 4S and my wife's iPhone 3GS. I would also like to test it on the older iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1 (the highest version it will support).
When I connect the 3G to my Mac and attempt to provision it, I get two error messages:
Could Not Support Development
and
Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version
I am using the latest version of xCode (v. 4.4.1).
Is there some place to find the missing 'software image' in order to test my app on the 3G and older iOS devices?
If not, how does one know what devices the app will work with?
I do note that the newer iPhones that run iOS5 and above also support Automatic Reference Counting (ARC). I have checked the ARC button whenever I created a new project. Does one have to abandon ARC if one wants their app to work on an older pre iOS5-capable device?

I believe you can download it through iTunes by clicking restore in the device's summary page and then searching for the *.ipsw file. iTunes might even share the image once it is downloaded automatically.

Not in entirety. iOS 4.2 supports the vast majority of ARC, But it does not support weak references.
Also, there are a few hoops you must jump through to target. I have an answer here that outlines them (with screenshots).
I know for a fact that Xcode 4.4.1 can use an iOS 4.2.1 device as a target, since I can test on a second generation iPod touch running 4.2.1.
Finally, If you are not able to obtain a software image, you could try adding your device by UDID directly on the provisioning portal through developer.apple.com.(The old fashioned way)
