DarkMode doesn't work on Mojave when exported from archive - macos

I use Xcode 10 and added all required stuff for DarkMode support. When I run the project on Mojave everything works. But when I archive and distribute the app using Xcode 10 on HighSierra, then my app doesn't appear in dark mode on Mojave. Shouldn't Xcode 10 archive Mojave compatible version anyway?

Possible reasons:
You are using command line to create the archive, but your toolchain is set to use Xcode 9
You are using Dark Mode specific assets in asset catalog. Dark versions of those assets can only be compiled using Mojave.

For some reason, the asset catalog created with Xcode 10 only contains the dark mode colors and images if Xcode is run on a macOS 10.14 Mojave system or newer! This means for full Dark Mode support it's not enough to just use Xcode 10, you must run Xcode on macOS 10.14 or newer.
The Cocoa APIs for Dark Mode can still be used, so you can compile an app supporting Dark Mode with Xcode 10 on macOS 10.13, but the asset support will be missing.

WKWebView Blank on Catalina

In my Mac OSX app Am loading HTML from local file system (file:// URL) but on OSX Catalina it show a blank white screen, it works in fine in previous Mac versions.
It works fine in Debug or Release mode so prob a setting when it get signed for AppStore submissions.
I've also had local file issues in the original 10.15 build release, I've "heard" it is fixed in build 19A603 (released yesterday 10-21-2019), but personally have not verified that...
Note: Other Xcode devs have also reported this issue on beta and production versions (i.e. not an Xamarin related issue)

How to assign dynamic text styles in Xcode 11?

Edit: Probable Bug. Seeking fix or workaround…
How can I get the system’s text styles to be available in the interface builder when using Xcode 11?
I just started using Xcode 11 this week. In the interface builder (storyboard mode), when I go to assign a dynamic type text style to a Label or Button, using the Font -> Style pop-up, all the text styles are missing from the popup menu.
I do have the Dynamic Type “Automatically Adjusts Font” checkbox checked, as well.
I’m not sure if this is a bug, an intentional change I can’t find documentation for, or something else.
The expected behaviour is described in Apple’s developer documentation “Scaling Fonts Automatically”. Specifically, in the “Configuring Text Styles Using Interface Builder” section.
Further exploration: I’ve tried it with new projects, old projects (from Xcode 10), projects targeting iOS 12.2 and 13.1. All had the same problem of no text styles in the popup menu.
I experience the same problem when upgrading from Xcode 11.0 to Xcode 11.1 or 11.2 beta 2:
Xcode 11.0:
Xcode 11.1:
I also filed a bug report (FB7415999) with Apple and also opened an issue with them.
**My curren solution at the moment is a downgrade to Xcode 11.0 for UI development and a parallel install of Xcode 11.2 beta for on device runs **
This is probably a bug in Xcode 11.1. I ran into the same thing and filed a bug with Apple (FB7368959). A colleague running Xcode 11.1 on Catalina did not have the same problem, nor did another running Xcode 11.1 on Mojave.
Here is a workaround that got me back on track: I opened the problematic project in both Xcode 10.3 and 11.2 beta. In both, the dynamic type styles were available in IB. I didn't change anything, but reverted to Xcode 11.1, and now the styles are there, too. Hopefully this works for Grant and anyone else that runs into this annoyance.
Edit Mar. 17, 2020: This problem has reoccurred for me on Xcode 11.3.1. It seemed to happen with a specific project, and the problem spread to a second machine as soon as I opened that project. My workaround didn't help when I opened the project in 11.4 beta 3.

Is there any way of obtaining Developer Disk Image of iOS 11 for Xcode?

Currently I'm using macOS Sierra with Xcode 8 installed. I just updated my device to iOS 11, which is my main development device. I can't build the apps I'm working on anymore because Xcode 8 has no iOS 11 Development Disk Image. Is there any way of obtaining the image (without installing Xcode 9) or I'll have to go back to iOS 10 in order to build to my device?
Download All Older and latest Disk Image Platform version Here
This may solve your problem: https://stackoverflow.com/a/44383054/4146322
On another note, it is nearly impossible to revert to iOS 10 once you install iOS 11. Apple has incorporated checks for this at a deep level to prevent people installing older and possibly unsecured versions. You can read up on this at Apple's iOS10 Security Documentation in the second paragraph of page 6.
Follow these steps to get your Xcode 8, work with iOS 11.
Download Xcode 9 Image File with iOS 11 beta
Copy iOS 11.0 Image File to following location in your system: ~/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/
or
Create Symbolic Link Using:
sudo ln -s /Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/11.0\ \(15A5278f\) /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/11.0
Restart Xcode.
Download developer disk image from Here.
and copy that two folders to below mentioned path.
First open spotlight search and go to your xcode and from right click ->
Show package content Contents -> Developer -> Platforms -> iPhoneOS.platform -> DeviceSupport
Skip ads from above link and then you can download

Can I upload Xcode builds on macOS 10.12

Will I be capable of submitting an app with Xcode 7.3.1 while on the macOS 10.12 beta? According to this post, it is possible to run Xcode 7 alongside macOS 10.12.
Yes, you can! But if you're tying to do this, you will find two problems.
no .app file provided in bundle
Build with Xcode 7.3.1 then upload using Xcode 8 [Beta]. This will allow you to upload the archive.
When trying to submit to the store you will be faced with this error message:
New apps and app updates must be built with the public (GM) versions of Xcode 6 or later, OS X, and tvOS SDK. Don't submit apps built with beta software including beta OS X builds.
This is because your archive contain the Sierra's mark! I just solved this problem yesterday.
When you archived your app, find your archive in the Organizer, and then:
"Show in finder";
"Show package contents";
In the "xx.xcarchive" file, find the "Products"-"Applications"-"xx.app"(xx is your app's name), "Show package contents" again;
Finally, you can see there has a file named"Info.plist", open it;
Edit the value with a key named "BuildMachineOSBuild", I just change it to "15F34"(it's "El Capitan 10.11.5" 's version);
After that, you can upload this archive use Xcode or Application Loader, whatever you want!
Decided to try it out myself. Both methods of exporting through Xcode and Application Launcher failed with an error stating there was no .app file provided in bundle. Best to stay away from the macOS 10.12 beta if you want to continue developing for iOS 9.

Develop apps for the iPad 3's retina display without lion?

Is Xcode 4.3.1 (and therefore lion) required to develop apps for the iPad 3's retina display?
Or is there a way to develop for the new device using Xcode 4.2? I'm not running lion yet.
If you are asking about iOS the iOS 5.1 sdk, then you will have to update to Lion and Xcode 4.3.1 to get it.
But as to the Retina display of the iPad 3, there is nothing special about it in the new sdk. So you can develop apps for the iPad 3 using Xcode 4.2. Just make sure you take into account the high resolution of the device when working with images and other graphics as you do with the iPhone Retina Display.
This small hack may be able to help you: it presents how you could install the 5.1 SDK with an older version of Xcode that works on Snow Leopard.
http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/100229-snow-leopard-sdk-5-1-a.html
It turns out you do need to develop using Lion and iOS 5.1. If you don't build with the latest SDK then the #2x graphics won't show up in the app.
