How to register custom functions add in with different view in excel - visual-studio

I was trying to run the sample project with custom functions add-in using this link: https://github.com/OfficeDev/Excel-Custom-Functions.
I made sure that I meet all the prerequisites for running the project. I installed the certificates, and run the project successfully, but I'm stuck at step 3, of registering the custom functions add-ins by going to the insert tab and adding the respective add-in by selecting from the developer section. The problem I'm facing is that I have a different view and organization of options in my excel client application and I could not find the developer section from where I can register my Add-in. I'm attaching the images of the ribbon that I have in excel.
So if you will look into the images, you will see that there is manage my addins options, which will only show the add-ins that have been sideloaded manually but not the ones that were sideloaded using the script in this project. So I don't know where can I find the developer Section. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I'm also part of the Insider program which can be seen in the given image

If you're a member of the Office Insider program and are running Excel for Windows build number 10827 or later, the Insert ribbon should look like the following screenshot (with red rectangles highlighting the items you choose to register your custom functions add-in).
Have you joined the Office Insider program?
What build number of Excel for Windows are you running?
(Screenshot taken from the Custom Functions Tutorial).

So I fixed my problem after I found out that custom functions only works with the Insider Channel and not with Monthly Targeted, which I had beforehand. I got help from this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/create-custom-functions-in-excel-is-not-working-as/1ce500cc-8f83-421a-bb7c-2ae34027d444.

Replicate the share email to microsoft teams function

I am currently investigating a way to share emails from our desktop application. Written in c# using .Net framework 4.7
We would like to use the same dialog that gets initiated when you use the "Share to Teams" button in outlook passing in the .eml file. The user would be responsible for selecting which people or channels to share to.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
We can succesfully build a simple url share using their launcher concepts, but this is pretty limited to the browser and doesn't support files
https://teams.microsoft.com/share?href=www.stackoverflow.com&msgText=Testing
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/build-and-test/share-to-teams
And there is nothing mentioned in their deep-links section on msdn to achieve this
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/build-and-test/deep-links
If you're building your own desktop app experience anyway, why not use Graph for this? For instance, see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/chatmessage-post?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http . You'd need to do your own Search box, but you can do that on Graph also - here for instance is a channel listing endpoint (this example is for within a specific Team): https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/channel-list?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http

Menu-commands extension for Visual Studio without command-table

I am building a Visual Studio extension (VSIX) with menu commands depending on the options for the extension. Its dynamic, what commands (how many) depends on the options.
I have a solution for it that uses the command-table, like: Dynamically add menu items
I would like to skip the command-table and build the menus totally programmatically, like: HOWTO: Package with commands created by code
The reason is to make it more dynamic. So if the user adds/changes/deletes in the options of the extension it would be handled dynamically (programmatically). On saving options the menu-command tree would be rebuildt. If I use a command-table I will have to add/delete nodes there to be able to solve it.
The thing I can not figure out is howto add the objects for "groups" and "menus" programmatically.
So I am out for the class/interface that has "AddGroup" or "AddMenu" as methods.
Is this at all possible or do I have to use the command-table? If it is possible I would appreciate links to code-examples for it.
Regards Hans
MVP Carlos Quintero has published sample code using IVsProfferCommmands3.AddNamedCommand that illustrates how to programmatically add menu items via the automation services (formerly utilized by the now discontinued add-in extensibility model).
https://github.com/visualstudioextensibility/VSX-Samples/tree/master/PackageCommandsCreatedByCode
While add-ins are no longer supported, the automation interfaces are still present. So you can use these, bearing in mind these menu items (aka commands) are temporary.
Also, the sample code here is a little outdated, using Package instead of AsyncPackage, and ProvideAutoLoad attributes. So you'll also want to read up on the following:

Visial Studio - MS Teams - Auto Email Changes to Spreadsheet - Is this possible?

Visual Studio 2017
Microsoft Teams
Scenario:
Within Teams we have a team with a tab that contains a spreadsheet. Users can enter information w/ a new number and the name of the person responsible etc.
Is it possible that when this item is entered that an email can automatically be sent to the person responsible from within Teams?
I have done some initial research and so far I do see where you can create apps BUT I just would like to know if what I am proposing is possible and if so would it be a monumental undertaking or shouldn't be too difficult.
Any thoughts/feedback appreciated,
Thank you
There are actually two problems to solve here. One, how to detect that something happened in Excel. Two, to take action on that event and send email.
For both of these, you can create Excel macros using VBA (transforming the file from xlsx to xslm). XSLM files require the full Excel client though and don't run well on the web version of Excel. I can't think of another way to do it using Excel.

Define custom icons for global quick search

We are using mostly custom entities in our on-premise installation of Dynamics CRM 2016.
When using the global/quick search function, the search results show the generic entity icon even though custom icons have been configured and are also shown in the sitemap. The background of the custom icons has been taken from the solution but not the icon itself.
Can this be changed or is this functionality not available?
This seems to be working for me. Here's a screenshot from our development environment. I've blocked out the Entity names, but you can see that the icons are different for each entity
CRM 365 Online
I think you may be affected by a cache issue as pointed out by others. All these entities (and their icons) have been in place for weeks.
Sorry it doesn't help you, but at least shows what the default behavior should be.

How do you make an add-in for Excel 2011 (Mac)

I would like to add a button to the Ribbon and have it perform some basic tasks when clicked. Is this possible? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.
No, it is not possible. It looks like it is possible, but it is not. The only proper add in for Excel 2011 Mac is provided with Excel, and the ability to show it in Excel Mac's ribbon is apparently hard-coded into the Excel Mac application. None of the XML-based techniques for extending the Excel Mac ribbon work because the ribbon is hard-coded. It looks like the Windows version, but it is nothing like it.
Obviously, it is hard to provide sources for a negative answer. I have researched this topic carefully including contacting Microsoft support, and found that there is no compiler or IDE from Microsoft for this purpose. You can certainly develop in VBA in Excel Mac, and you can make an XLA add-in, but you cannot access the ribbon. You can create little square Mac toolbar icons, just as in Excel 98.
Here are some useful links that will answer your question:
how to customize the ribbon
how to customize the ribbon with vba
how to create an add in (on MSDN)
a clearer tuto on how to create an addin
Please ask a more precise question if you want more precise help.
