I have a question similar to this one:
How do you populate an SSRS TextBox with a DataSet value?
I'm on old release 2012 R1 and designing report in Visual Studio 2010 shell.
I want user to enter a specific order number, and thus the query will return just one row. I want to show the fields down the page (better for viewing/printing), instead of across the page like the normal table does (especially if I have so many fields that they don't fit on the width of one screen).
Example:
Don't I just bind the textbox to a database field on the properties using DataElementName. That's what I didn't understand about the post I referenced above.
I think I figured it out. I clicked Action then was able to select the database field from a list. After that, I also noticed I can right click, then click "Expressions", and the following screen appears:

I have a form in MS Access 2013 that is associated with two tables. The form populates with various fields from each table. I also have several buttons to Add a Record, Find a Record (from one of the tables), Save, and Close Form. I want to add a button that allows me to find a record from the other table. I was successfull creating the button, but the button is looking at the wrong table. I want the button to look at the other table but I can't find a way to switch the table the button is looking at. I don't understand Macros very well but this appears to be a very easy problem. How can I make the button look at the right table?
I've been busy with this for two days, and I can't get any further on it.
I have a Dropdown-box/Combobox (not sure what it's called) in Microsoft Silverlight, and my editor is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. The Dropdown-box has to be alphabetically ordered, but I do not know where to find the source. This is what I do know:
If I select the Dropdown box in the Designer, I can see that the
Data Binding is called "par_Customer(item)".
On the left side of the Designer is a list of tables, including the
par_Customer table.
Almost all tables have the text "Edit Query" next to them, and by
clicking on that the program opens a query editor with the right
query in it.
The table I need, "par_Customer", does not have the text "Edit
Query" on it.
When I right-click on the table, I get the options to Delete or Edit
the table.
When I click Edit, I see a list of all the attributes (columns) of
that table and its relationships, yet no query or anything
The Dropdown box is not filled by code.
What I would like to know: where do I find the source of this dropdown box? Where is it "filled"?
I would really appreciate any help or input on this problem, since I have no idea where to look any information will be of value.
I am developing a "Dashboard Report" in SSRS Visual Studio 2010. I Am trying to put 8 charts graphs at the same location. Each chart must open from each textbox I assigned a toggle. Each chart has the visibility as Hidden and display by textbox name.
Now I am trying to make a validation which determine that only one chart must show at the time. Because when I try to see an individual chart always I have to close which was open before.
I have created a parameter to assign an InitialToggleState Expression, but I haven't succeed.
I will appreciated any good suggestion step by step. Thanks
Have you considered using a Hidden parameter to control which chart is open? By defining one you can use the textboxes to control an identifier for which chart you wish to display.
Method
First define a Hidden Pameter by creating a new parameter and setting the visibility to ‘Hidden’. I have created one called OpenChart
Create your charts (you have probably already done this by the looks of things. Set each charts visibility to be equivalent to
=iif(Parameters!OpenChart.Value = 1, false, true)
Changing the value ‘1’ to a unique number for each chart
Create your control buttons, possibly using text boxes. Create as many buttons as there are charts to disaply (you’ve probably done this already too). For each button Set the action to be a reloading of this report, using the same existing parameters, but with the OpenCahrt Parameter set to the chart identifier set in 2. Above
The report now looks like this (for 3 buttons)
Result
When the report is run and the ‘One’ textbox is clicked the output looks like this
And for 'Two' like this
And so on...
You don’t have to put the charts side by side of course, they can be layered on top of each other. I only laid them out like this for clarity.
Hopefully this will help save you from trying to validate all the charts are closed before the next one is open, because only one can be open at a time.
Please let me know if you need further clarification
I have a blank page with a static content region (Template = Form Region). I select a project via a select list (there is only one project, so it automatically selects it). I then have a key popup lov (a popup lov that displays the description not the returned number value) from which I select a person to be in this project. I am trying to get the form to display the person I selected and saved previously when the form launches for the first time (since the project is chosen due to there being one). This works when you refresh the page, but it doesn't work if you log out and log back into the form. I tried using the default value with a sql query. I tried using a dynamic action that fires when the project changes; but neither approaches work. I fiddled with all the settings, but couldn't get anything to work. Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Oracle APEX?
I even added a refresh of the cascading popup lov to the dynamic action. I can see the hidden input item showing my defaulted value, but the popup lov does not display it on screen. Is this an Oracle bug?
Also in Javascript from the console
$s("P51_LINE_MANAGER1", "7104");
sets the hidden value, but doesn't display on screen.
$v("P51_LINE_MANAGER1");
does however return 7104.
I am working on a SSRS report for SQL 2005 in Visual Studio 2005 and I need to include information in the page footers from a dataset. I followed the information in the following Microsoft article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159677(v=sql.90).aspx
I setup several hidden textboxes in the body of the report to hold the aggregated dataset information I need. I then reference those textboxes in the page footer of my report.
The page footer on the first page is correct but on the rest of the report pages the text boxes are not getting the information. In my situation, I am getting the user id and date from a dataset and trying to display it on each report page in the footer.
More details:
In the first hidden textbox (lblDatetime) in the body I get the value from the dataset like the following:
=First(Fields!Date.Value, "headerData1")
In the second hidden textbox (lblUserID) in the body I get the value from the dataset like the following:
=First(Fields!UserID.Value, "headerData1")
I then reference the first textbox in the footer using the following:
=First(ReportItems!lblUserID.Value)
I then reference the second textbox in the footer using the following:
=FormatDateTime(First(ReportItems!lblDateTime.Value),DateFormat.ShortDate)
=FormatDateTime(First(ReportItems!lblDateTime.Value),DateFormat.LongTime)
I tried aggregating the dataset directly in the footer but this is not possible and causes errors.
I came up with a different solution to the one suggested in the article.
Instead of adding hidden textboxes to my body, I created two global hidden parameters. I set the default value using the "From Query" for those parameters to the datasets I needed. I then referenced those two new global parameters instead of the textboxes.
This fixed my issue.
