I've been busy with this for two days, and I can't get any further on it.
I have a Dropdown-box/Combobox (not sure what it's called) in Microsoft Silverlight, and my editor is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. The Dropdown-box has to be alphabetically ordered, but I do not know where to find the source. This is what I do know:
If I select the Dropdown box in the Designer, I can see that the
Data Binding is called "par_Customer(item)".
On the left side of the Designer is a list of tables, including the
par_Customer table.
Almost all tables have the text "Edit Query" next to them, and by
clicking on that the program opens a query editor with the right
query in it.
The table I need, "par_Customer", does not have the text "Edit
Query" on it.
When I right-click on the table, I get the options to Delete or Edit
the table.
When I click Edit, I see a list of all the attributes (columns) of
that table and its relationships, yet no query or anything
The Dropdown box is not filled by code.
What I would like to know: where do I find the source of this dropdown box? Where is it "filled"?
I would really appreciate any help or input on this problem, since I have no idea where to look any information will be of value.

I'm a FM beginner and would like to know how I can show a searchable dropdown. When I create a product, I need to select a supplier from a large list. I would like to tyoe some characters, from where I find a value in the dropdown. As far as I see now, that isn't possible and the only way to do this is through a popover.
But my question is then, how to show a full table in the popover, from which I can select a value, which is filled in my form.

Actually, it's the other way around: with a drop-down list you get the option to Auto-complete using value list, which is unavailable with a pop-up menu.
how to show a full table in the popover, from which I can select a value,
You cannot show a full table in a popover. You can show a portal in a popover, and make it show all records in a table by using the x operator when defining the relationship.
Or - preferably, IMHO - use a card window to show all the records you want to select from; this could be the full table or a reduced set as the result of a find.
Selecting products or other related records using popovers always feels slow when you try to search/filter the list of records, with the introduction of card windows doing such searches/selects became a lot faster and easier to implement, if you have 2 different layouts that need to search the same list of records you can use the same card window for both, that was also a nice thing.
I have a form in MS Access 2013 that is associated with two tables. The form populates with various fields from each table. I also have several buttons to Add a Record, Find a Record (from one of the tables), Save, and Close Form. I want to add a button that allows me to find a record from the other table. I was successfull creating the button, but the button is looking at the wrong table. I want the button to look at the other table but I can't find a way to switch the table the button is looking at. I don't understand Macros very well but this appears to be a very easy problem. How can I make the button look at the right table?
I have a question similar to this one:
How do you populate an SSRS TextBox with a DataSet value?
I'm on old release 2012 R1 and designing report in Visual Studio 2010 shell.
I want user to enter a specific order number, and thus the query will return just one row. I want to show the fields down the page (better for viewing/printing), instead of across the page like the normal table does (especially if I have so many fields that they don't fit on the width of one screen).
Example:
Don't I just bind the textbox to a database field on the properties using DataElementName. That's what I didn't understand about the post I referenced above.
I think I figured it out. I clicked Action then was able to select the database field from a list. After that, I also noticed I can right click, then click "Expressions", and the following screen appears:
I've been given an exercise. Add a field to the Tasks table and make sure it is visible on the incident form as a drop down list. So I've added a column to the table. But how do I then get that drop down list on to the incidents form?
Load up an incident record and then right click on the header of the form. Then go to configure and then click form layout. You can also use the form designer. In either situation, just drag the field from the left to the right. In the form designer it's a little bit easier to choose exactly where you want the field to show up.
Pro tip: you can easily get to the incident form by typing "incident.form" into the application navigator filler bar on the left and pressing enter.

I'm working on an InfoPath 2007 form. I have two drop-down lists and i need the second to be populated with items bases on the value chosen in the first list. I use c# to populate the drop-dpwn lists from external sources. I've tried to use the OnChange event to make all this, but the second list is still empty.
If anyone knows, please tell me.
You can filter the entries for the second drop-down list based on your first list (but only if the entries are based on a data source, not manually entered).
Bring up the properties window for
your second drop-down list.
Select your data source.
Click on the button to the right of the Entries text box.
Select the repeating node you wish to use for the basis of your list entry.
Click the Filter Data button. From here you can enter a filter to limit the entries displayed based on the value of your first drop-down list.
Your question was a bit ambiguous. You may be trying to populate a secondary data source based off of your first drop-down list. This should work fine with an OnChange event. Can you post the code you are using to do this?
Some additional tips that may help:
The change event will not fire until focus moves off of the list box. So, for the second drop down to populate, you will need to set the first drop-down then hit tab or click elsewhere in the form.
I don't know the size or nature of the data source you are using for the second drop-down list, but you may consider downloading the entire data source and filter it using the method I described above. This may be a better solution as you won't need to make a database query between entering the first list box and the second one.
