In my laravel application i just want to store input data in a session and use it every where But the data is lost when i refresh the browser.
my controller:
public function usepoint(Request $request){
$fdata = $request->input_point;
Session::put('test', $fdata);
return Redirect()->back();
}
view page:
<p>use Point :
<form method="get" action="{{url('cart/usepoint')}}">
<input class="" type="" name="input_point" value="" style="width:40%"> <button type="submit" class="btn btn btn-primary ">use</button> </p>
</form>
<p>Session data:</p>
<input class="del_point" type="text" name="del_point" value="{{Session::get('test')}}" style="width: 40%" readonly>
route:
Route::get('cart/usepoint','cartController#usepoint');
add this in your config/session.php configuration:
'expire_on_close' => false,
If the problem still occurs, check if you have any dd()'s in your application. Apparently, according to this, dd() makes it so your session doesn't get stored correctly and you can't read data from that session.
you can try to pass data to view using with() method inside controller:
$fdata = $request->input_point;
return redirect()->back()->with('success', $fdata );

I'm trying to get the id of the selected subscription and pass it to the controller, but for some reason when I dd() or print_r() the id in the controller, it returns the same id regardless of which subscription I click.
Regardless if i click the first '+' button or the second one it always returns the same id when I print_r() it.
Array ( [_token] => iFimNDCv0q4rq7OmmUWGN8SGr2Bq0brsiRMLIzBD [subscription] => 2 )
Even when I click the first one, which should have '1' as the id, it still returns '2'.
This is my route for it in web.php
Route::post('/transaction/store', 'TransactionController#store')->name('transaction.store');
This is the function in the controller
public function store(Request $request)
{
// continue here
print_r($request->input());
}
And this is the form tag that's responsible for send the id (which is inside a foreach statement in blade)
<form id="batch" action="{{route('transaction.store')}}" method="POST">
#csrf
<input type="hidden" name="subscription" value="{{$subscription->id}}" form="batch">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-sm btn-outline-dark" form="batch">+</button>
</form>
Thanks very much for any help!
I just had to make the form id dynamic!
<form id="batch-{{$subscription->id}}" action="{{route('transaction.store')}}" method="POST">
#csrf
<input type="hidden" name="subscription" value="{{$subscription->id}}" form="batch-{{$subscription->id}}">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-sm btn-outline-dark" form="batch-{{$subscription->id}}">+</button>
</form>
i have two views, view-1 and view-2.
view-1 has form, which will store data temporary.
i want to get data from view-1 and send it to view-2, which has user profile, where temporary data from view-1 will be shown.
how we can achieve it in Laravel, i know we can store data in SQL
and then fetch it, but how to do it without storing to SQL.
my code:
view: 1
<form >
<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-form-label" >Date</label>
<input type="text" name="sdate" class="form-control">
<input type="submit" class="btn btn-primary" value="Add date" >
</div>
</form>
view 2 Controller:
public function report2($id)
{
$teacher = Teacher::teacher($id);
return View('teachers.report2' ,compact('teacher','today','sdate'));
}
Route:
Route::get('teachers/{id}/report2', 'TeachersController#report2');
Use session, for example in view1 you pass variable of date do this on your controller of view 1
session(['sdate' => $request->sdate]);
and then you can get the value of the session in your controller or view by calling this
$date = session('sdate');
further reading see the docs
i was able to do it using simple php;
in view 1 i added this code:
<form action="report2" method="get">
Date: <input type="text" name="today" placeholder="Date of Birth" class="datepicker form-control"><br>
<input type="submit">
</form>
Laravel view 2:
<?php echo $_GET["today"]; ?><br>
guys. I'm a newbie of Laravel.
I'm just wondering that if I need to pass some sensitive info, which is been wrote on a form, to controller, then to another view.
How could I pass the info to the view without using URL?
I have made some small test, but the result is all the same (url would include the data).
Here is the code.
Html(a):
<form action="/data" method="GET" class="form-horizontal">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="Test">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary">test</button>
</div>
web.php:
Route::get('/data', 'DataController#show');
DataController.php:
public function show(Request $request) {
return view('testShow');
}
Html(b):
<div class="ShowDataHere">
#if(!empty(request()->all()))
{{ request()->Test }}
#endif
Simply change your form to use POST instead of GET.
On the form...
<form action="/data" method="POST" class="form-horizontal">
In your route ...
Route::post('/data', 'DataController#show');
This will send all of the form fields to the server in a way that is less visable (not in the URL) but to make the form secure, you'll want to ensure it's served using HTTPS as well.
In Laravel when you use Route::post('/data', 'DataController#show') the Laravel expect a GET, because of the show function.
So you can use Route::post('/data', 'DataController#someFunction') and in your laravel controller get with:
public function someFunction(Request $request)
{
$array = $request->all(); //your fields
}
In this function you can get the attributes with $array = $request->all();
I've run into an odd issue where the helper function old() always returns null in a blade view unless $request->flash() is used prior to loading the view. I have never had to do this when using laravel in the past. Did something change or is there something that I have forgotten to set/configure. Below is a simple example of the behavior:
web.php
Route::get('/test', function(){
return view('testView');
});
Route::post('/test', function(Illuminate\Http\Request $request){
$request->flash(); // if uncommented old() works, if commented old() does not work
return view('testView');
});
form in testView.blade.php
<form action="/test" method="POST">
{{csrf_field()}}
<input type="hidden" name="test001" value="001"/>
<input type="hidden" name="test002" value="002"/>
<div class="">
{{old('test001')}}
<br/>
{{old('test002')}}
</div>
<button type="submit">GO</button>
</form>
after form submitted without $request->flash()
after form submitted with $request->flash()
EDIT
Thinking this might have something to do with using a single route name for both post and get methods, the form was changed so to submit via get, and the issue persists. For example:
web.php
Route::get('/test', function(function(Illuminate\Http\Request $request){
return view('testView');
});
form in testView.blade.php
<form action="/test" method="GET">
<input type="hidden" name="test001" value="001"/>
<input type="hidden" name="test002" value="002"/>
<div class="">
{{old('test001')}}
<br/>
{{old('test002')}}
</div>
<button type="submit">GO</button>
</form>
Use redirect back() instead of loading view directly in a post method.
return redirect()->back()->withInput();
You need to flash request data to put old input into session, otherwise old() will return empty result. See official doc here.
Maybe it's because I'm tired, but I can't seem to get a simple upload working for one of my models.
On the show details page of my customers (who are NOT users) model, I have a simple form where a user can upload the logo of the customer.
The form:
<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/customers/i/{{$customer->url_string}}" method="POST">
<input type="file" name="logoUpload">
<input type="hidden" name="_token" value="{{csrf_token()}}">
<input type="submit" class="pull-right btn btn-sm btn-primary" value="Upload">
</form>
The Controller:
public function logoUpload(Request $request){
if($request->hasFile('logoUpload')){
$path = Storage::putFile('public/customer/uploads', new File(request('logoUpload')));
$customer->car_logo = $path;
$customer->save();
return back();
}
}
I know the issue is that I haven't defined $customer in the controller since the file does actually store itself in the correct folder after I click submit, but it does not hit the database at all.
Update
The current customer details url:
http://localhost:8000/customers/i/dsdado9a98w78721
The web definition for the post route:
Route::post('/customers/i/{customer}', 'CustomerController#logoUpload');
You have to create a hidden field in your form that contains the customer id and then use it in your controller to update it with the new file path, here is an example:
View
<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/customers/i/{{$customer->url_string}}" method="POST">
<input type="file" name="logoUpload">
<input type="hidden" name="_token" value="{{csrf_token()}}">
<!-- customer_id field -->
<input type="hidden" name="customer_id" value="{{$customer->id}}">
<input type="submit" class="pull-right btn btn-sm btn-primary" value="Upload">
</form>
Controller
public function logoUpload(Request $request){
if($request->hasFile('logoUpload')){
$path = Storage::putFile('public/customer/uploads', new File(request('logoUpload')));
// get customer
$customer = Customer::find($request->customer_id);
$customer->car_logo = $path;
$customer->save();
return back();
}
}
You have some options, here is a simple one, with only adjusting that controller method:
public function logoUpload(Request $request, $customer)
{
$customer = Customer::where('url_string', $customer)->firstOrFail();
if($request->hasFile('logoUpload')){
$path = Storage::putFile('public/customer/uploads', new File(request('logoUpload')));
$customer->car_logo = $path;
$customer->save();
return back();
}
...
}
We have added a parameter to the method signature to accept the route parameter. We then find the model via url_string matching that parameter.
You also could setup route model binding as well to do the resolving of that model based on the route parameter for you.
