I have a server with windows server 2012 in it. I want to join the different pc of the company i work for in that server.
I joined my pc with windows 7 pro installed without any problems
The other pc's i tried to join are showing me always the same error
Can't join the domain for one of this three reasons
domain doesn't exist or it's not on
remote access is not enable
And another reason
The thing is everything is alright
Note that the users have either windows 10 or 7 professional
I tried to clear the dns and release ip v4 but nothing worked
Please help me

In my company, we have upgraded the Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012 and we have some thin clients with an old version of RDP and they can't connect to the Server 2012 because when I does, I get this message: Because of a security error, the client could not connect to the remote computer. Verify that you are logged on to the network, and then try connecting again.
Our thin clients are: Compaq Evo T30 and a Neoware CA19 and they have Windows CE 4.0 installed by default.
Searching in internet, I've found this tutorial: http://www.hjgode.de/wp/2014/03/12/windows-server-2012-rds-and-windows-mobile-connection-error/ but I can't apply it to our server because we don't want to have less security.
I've searched everything on internet to configure the Windows CE to be able to connect to our server 2012 but I can't find anything helpful :( Seriously, we don't want to apply the steps of the previous tutorial, we prefer buying new Thin Clients instead of doing that, but it will be better if there is a way to be able to connect to the server 2012 without changing anything in the server.
Anyone can help me? Please, it's very important.
Thanks in advance! :)
Unless there is a way to update your clients to a newer release of Windows CE that support new RDP versions (you should test that first) probably replacing them is the only option.
Im totally new to Google Cloud. I got free uses for some time from google.
I want to setup a lab. So I want to install Windows 7 on Google Cloud.
Thanks
The image for Windows 7 is not available, you can create a custom image, upload it and then create an instance with that image, but honestly I would not follow this path if you have just started and you want only to run a Windows server.
So, if you don't really need Windows 7 for some reason and you want to run a Windows virtual machine the easiest thing to do is to create an instance using one of the available images:
Windows Server version 1709 Core for Containers (Beta)
Windows Server version 1709 Core
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2012 R2 Core
Windows Server 2012 R2
Windows Server 2016 Core
Windows Server 2016
In order to do so go to the Console, enter in Compute Engine, VM instances, click on create instance, at this point from the tab that will be opened select the Windows image that you prefer and set up the machine as you like. Wait some minute and you will be able to connect to it through RDP.
Note that there is a Quickstart guide in order to help you in the process.
I've already tried running Docker on a Windows 10 Virtual Machine without any success. I understand why, so I've given up trying to enable this. However, it's got me thinking about Windows Server 2016. As I understand it, Windows Server 2016 has docker included as a component/service, instead of an 'Add On' as it is in Windows 10. Are there any reasons why a Microsoft Server 2016 Virtual Machine would not support docker? This is more for convenience than anything else. Dual-booting with windows 10 isn't a major issue and we've done that, but it does mean in certain circumstances I have to reboot to windows 8 for certain organisation-specific content that I can't access in Windows 10.
I have a Win 7 64 bit PC running VS2010
I have one test machine that is generating issues for me (a Win 8 one), but I cannot connect to it via Remote Debugger.
To complicate issues, this remote machine is a VM hosted via Paralells.
I have turned off all firewalls (I don't like this, but that makes the server appear in the VS2010 window, so I know I need to come back and tweak the firewall.)
I go to the remote machine, start up vsmon (I have tried both x86 and 64 versions), and the server starts ok.
try to connect and I get "MSVSMON.exe does not appear to be running on the remote instance." (Even though I know it is as I just started it!)
I have gone into settings and enabled "Any User" and "No Authentication". Restarted VS2010 and still nothign. Exactly the same error message.
I have a User called Matt on both the Win 7 and Win 8 machines, both with admin rights to the resepctive boxes. But still the same error message.
So what steps have I missed?
(and as a supplemental, I am sure that in teh documentaiton for the remote debug server download, it states that the install will create the necessary firewall rules, so why is my firewall still blocking me seeing the Win 8 Machine?)
Im out of ideas on this one, so if I can't crack this soon I'll have to move my dev envrionment across to the win 8 vm lock stock and barrel, which then means that my test machine is no longer an exact replica of a client workstation.
Copy directory c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Remote Debugger\ to the remote computer.
Start x64 version of msvsmon.exe as user Matt. Do not enable "Any User" or "No Authentication". User Matt should have administrator rights.
Start your visual studio 2010 as Matt.
Try to connect to remote debugger. It worked for me every time. If it does not, consider using higher version of visual studio (i.e. vs 2013 community edition is free and should work well).
Please help me with my noobish problem
I have laptop at home. I installed MS Windows Server 8 Beta on it, Visual Studio 11 Beta and MS Team Foundation Server 11 only for version control of my application, which I want to change at home (where my laptop-server is) and at work (where my another Visual Studio 11 Beta is).
So my major problem is that I can't easily expose my [home] TFS Server on Internet that I can see it from my work computer :(
I installed TFS Proxy, which generated a proxy URL for me like this: http://win-jnkseeeq4rl:8081/ (which works on LAN)
But of course, I can't get it to work on another (work) computer through Internet, because it doesn't resolve this kind of host.
At home I've got WiFi-router through which my laptop connected.
I think I must expose some ports on it, but I don't know how and is this a main problem really.
Thank you everyone for answers!!!
I run a TFS at home to support my consulting and have setup Remote Access Services using the PPTP protocol to run my inbound VPN. You generally just have to enable PPTP passthrough (GRE protocol) and forward TCP/1723 to your RAS server.
I also use Dynamic DNS to help find my public IP if it ever changes.
But I have to be honest, have you considered just using the TFSPreview.com service instead? I haven't switched over completely yet because I've already built my infrastructure and it's still a beta service but I could see myself doing it in the future.
Have you looked at the walkthrough here => http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb668967.aspx
