Controlling WriteProfileString - windows

Is it possible to specify the application name which is used by CWinApp::WriteProfileString()?
If I use CWinApp::SetRegistryKey to set the name of my company to "MyCompany", and I call AfxGetApp()->WriteProfileString in my application called "SomeApp", my string will be stored under the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MyCompany\SomeApp\...
The problem is that my users want to run multiple versions of SomeApp. So in order that the registry settings don't conflict I want to store them in keys like this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MyCompany\SomeApp 1.1\...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MyCompany\SomeApp 2.0\...
etc.
I could replace all instances of WriteProfileString with my own function, but this would be quite difficult as it is used extensively in both our source code and some of the third-party libraries that we use.
Is there some way to force WriteProfileString to use a different string for the application name?

This code in the app constructor worked well:
free((void*)m_pszProfileName);
free((void*)m_pszRegistryKey);
m_pszRegistryKey = _tcsdup(L"nobugz");
m_pszProfileName = _tcsdup(L"myapp\\1.0");

Yocto PREMIRROR/SOURCE_MIRROR_URL with url arguments (SAS_TOKEN) possible?

I sucessfully created a premirror for our yocto builds on an Azure Storage Blob,
that works if I set the access level to "Blob (Anonymous read).."
Now I wanted to keep the blob completely private, and access only via SAS Tokens.
SAS_TOKEN = "?sv=2019-12-12&ss=bf&srt=co&sp=rdl&se=2020-08-19T17:38:27Z&st=2020-08-19T09:38:27Z&spr=https&sig=abcdef_TEST"
INHERIT += "own-mirrors"
SOURCE_MIRROR_URL = "https://somewhere.blob.core.windows.net/our-mirror/downloads/BASENAME${SAS_TOKEN}"
BB_FETCH_PREMIRRORONLY = "1"
In general this works, but yocto (or to be exact the bitbake fetch module) will try then try to fetch from https://somewhere.blob.core.windows.net/our-mirror/downloads/bash-5.0.tar.gz%3Fsv%3D2019-12-12%26ss%3Dbf%26srt%3Dco%26sp%3Drdl%26se%3D2020-08-19T17%3A38%3A27Z%26st%3D2020-08-19T09%3A38%3A27Z%26spr%3Dhttps%26sig%3Dabcdef_TEST/bash-5.0.tar.gz
Which also encodes the special characters for the parameters and of course the fetch fill fail.
Did anybody has solved this or similar issues already?
Or is it possible to patch files inside the poky layer (namely in ./layers/poky/bitbake/lib/bb/fetch2) without changing them, so I can roll my on encodeurl function there?

Access the Android Special Folder Path by using Environment

I want to save my logs to a folder which I can access with windows explorer. For example I want to create my log in the following path
This PC\Galaxy A5 (2017)\Phone\Android\data\MyApp\files
So I tried to use Environment variables... I get such as
/data/user/...
But here i cannot see the file what I created (using code I can access the path but I want to see in the explorer).
how I can create a path like above with code?
When I tried this code
var finalPath2 = Android.OS.Environment.GetExternalStoragePublicDirectory
(Android.OS.Environment.DataDirectory.AbsolutePath);
I get the path "/storage/emulated/0/data"
and
If i use the code
var logDirectory =Path.Combine(System.Environment.GetFolderPath
(System.Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData),"logs");
I get the following path like:
/data/user/0/MyApp/files/.config/logs
and
var logDirectory =Path.Combine(System.Environment.GetFolderPath
(System.Environment.SpecialFolder.MyDocuments),"logs");
"/data/user/0/IM.OneApp.Presentation.Android/files/logs"
but unfortunately I cannot access this folder by explorer....
This PC\Galaxy A5 (2017)\Phone\Android\data\MyApp\files
So how to find out this path in c# by using environments?
Update:
when I give the following path hardcoded, it creates the file where I want..
logDirectory = "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/MyApp/files/logs";
is there any environment to create this path? I can combine 2 environments and do some string processing in order to create this path. But maybe there is an easier way?
You are looking for the root of GetExternalFilesDir, just pass a null:
Example:
var externalAppPathNoSec = GetExternalFilesDir(string.Empty).Path;
Note: This is a Context-based instance method, you can access it via the Android application context, an Activity, etc... (see the link below to the Android Context docs)
Shared storage may not always be available, since removable media can be ejected by the user. Media state can be checked using Environment.getExternalStorageState(File).
There is no security enforced with these files. For example, any application holding Manifest.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE can write to these files.
re: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/Context#getExternalFilesDir(java.lang.String)
string docFolder = Path.Combine(System.Environment.GetFolderPath
(System.Environment.SpecialFolder.MyDocuments), "logs");
string libFolder = Path.Combine(docFolder, "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/MyApp/files/logs");
if (!Directory.Exists(libFolder))
{
Directory.CreateDirectory(libFolder);
}
string destinationDatabasePath = Path.Combine(libFolder, "temp.db3");
db.Backup( destinationDatabasePath, "main");

Omnet/Inet : how to access class/submodules to get variables values

in my simulation there is a mobile node composed by the following components from the inet framework:
Now I am working on the UdpApp which is UDPVideoStreamCli.cc which is also given by inet framework as one of example udp application.
Now as you can see from the image I had to access to the lisp module (which is an instance of LispRouting.cc) because I have to read some values or call some public methods of that class...how can I do that? All I know is that I have to start from
getParentModule()->getSubmodule();
but then I don't know how to go on...can you help?
(LispRouting *)getParentModule()->getSubmodule("lisp")
will do the trick. Be sure to check if the returned pointer is not null.
Generally this is bad design as it hard-codes the name and the relative position of the LispRouting module. Any change in naming/architecture will cause crashes.
A proper design would be to create a parameter that specifies the name/path of the lisp submodule (with default value) and then use
#include "inet/common/ModuleAccess.h"
...
LispRouting *lr = getModuleFromPar<LispRouting>(par("lispModule"), this);
and then add a parameter to the module's NED file:
string lispModule = default("^.lisp");
meaning the default place where you can find the lisp module is: go one level up and then find the submodule named "lisp". This is a much better pattern, because the user can later reconfigure the name/placement of the lisp module without breaking the code.

Puppet: Making a custom function depend on a resource

I have a Puppet custom function that returns information about a user defined in OpenStack's Keystone identity service. Usage is something along the lines of:
$tenant_id = lookup_tenant_by_name($username, $password, "mytenant")
The problem is that the credentials used in this query ($username) are supposed to be created by another resource during the Puppet run (a Keystone_user resource from puppet-keystone). As far as I can tell, the call to the lookup_tenant_by_name function is being evaluated before any resource ordering happens, because no amount of dependencies in the calling code is able to force the credentials to be created prior to this function being executed.
In general, it is possible to write custom functions -- or place them appropriately in a manifest -- such that they will not be executed by Puppet until after some specified resource has been instantiated?
Short answer: You cannot make your manifest's behavior depend on resources declared inside of it.
Long answer: Parser functions are called during the compilation phase (on the master if you use one, or the agent if you use puppet apply). In neither case can it ever run before any resource is synced, because that will happen after the compiler has done all its work (including invocation of your functions).
To query information from the agent machine, you generally want to use custom facts. Still, those will be populated before even the compiler run.
Likely the best approach in this situation is to make the manifest tolerate the absence of the information, so that anything that depends on the value that your lookup_tenant_by_name function returns will only be evaluated if that value is available. This will usually be during the second Puppet run.
if $tenant_id == "" {
notify { "cannot yet find tenant $username": }
}
else {
# your code using the tenant ID
}

How do you do an include in applescript?

I have a bunch of code I want to to use in several different applescripts so I would like to put it into it's own applescript that I can reference from other applescripts. Basically I want to do an include. How is this done in applescript?
Here is the best way I have found to accomplish this. You can call a function on another script like so:
script a.scpt
set myScript to load script "b.scpt"
set foo to myScript's theTest()
script b.scpt
on theTest()
return true
end theTest
As you can see you can call functions within b.scpt from a.scpt by calling the function name myScript's theTest().
You can put all the handlers and scripts that you want to reference inside a Script Library (for example: my_math_lib.scpt and my_string_lib.scpt). Then, save this file in a Script Libraries folder on your computer.
Depending on how you want to define the availability of this library, you use a different folder:
Place the my_math_lib.scpt and my_string_lib.scpt files inside the /Library/Script Libraries folder to make them available for all users on the computer.
Place them in the ~/Library/Script Libraries folder to make them available for a specific user only.
You can then use all the handlers in those libraries as follows:
property math_lib : script "my_math_lib"
property string_lib : script "my_string_lib"
math_lib's do_this()
string_lib's do_that()
