The Twisted download page shows that the current version for Macintosh is 8.2.0 for OS X 10.5
Are there known issues with this version of Twisted under 10.6, or is the Twisted web page just a bit out of date?

Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.x) comes with Twisted 8.2.0 installed with the system python. So, yes, it works. Apple's Calendar Server is a twisted app.

The OS X installer for Twisted isn't quite the usual distutils-based installer and there's no automation in the Twisted release process for creating it. This means availability of the installer for new versions of OS X or new versions of Twisted generally lag quite a bit.
However, the normal distutils-based installer (setup.py install) should accomplish the same thing. The Twisted 9.0 test suite passes completely on OS X 10.6. I suspect 8.2 also works, but I haven't seen the results of running the test suite.

Where to find JewleryBox (ruby rvm gui) that works on 10.6.8?
Current version on web site http://jewelrybox.unfiniti.com/ claims that it works for 10.6.8 but when started notes that it requires OSX 10.7.
10.6 support has been dropped to pave the way for utilizing better APIs in newer versions of OS X. I can give you a copy of the last version that runs on 10.6, v1.3. Keep in mind though that you'll be unable to upgrade RVM past about 1.16 or so because changes were introduced in RVM that broke JewelryBox. Those fixes were added in v1.4, which is only for 10.7 or newer.
Ping me #remear to remind me as I'll need to dig up the old version and place it in a location from which you can download it.

I have purchased a Mac notebook which has Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1. Now I want to develop iPhone apps so I want to know which Xcode version is supported on it that has storyboards facility.
Just get the latest version from the App Store. It supports Storyboards and is compatible with Lion.
If you must stay at Lion 10.7.1, try the first developer tool releases for Lion (Xcode 4.2, or 4.2.1) available here

I have just upgraded to Mac OS Lion and I have a problem with Fugu application that I used to use on Snow Leopard, I can't run it on Lion now.
Do you know how a patch for running it on Lion or have you alternative applications which does the same things ?
I know there is the Terminal (scp localPath login#ip:distantPath) to copy files but it's easier to do this job with a SCP client if you are looking for the file you want to transfer among all directories.
Fugu works for me on Lion. Perhaps you should just download a newer version, or give details on the error you get.
If you don't mind spending money on it, Transmit is a great alternative (that is, if you're comfortable with SFTP).
Anyway, this question doesn't really belong here.
I use Interarchy, not that expensive and great to work with.
For Fugu, there is a preview release that works on Lion.

I am a iPhone Developer. I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. I need to install mac os x(Lion or snow leopard) on it since buying a mac is too costly. Just for practicing.
Guys can anyone help me on how to install mac os. Thanks in advance.
That's totally illegal, but nothing is impossible. There are some tricky ways to do it. But you won't get best results or good development environment in it. So, if you want Mac OSX, then buy a Mac. I will not share any tricky ways to install Mac OSX in dell laptop as it is illegal. Correct me if I am wrong.

Having virtualized the Mac OS X 10.7 Lion with VMware Workstation i want to start with iOS development and it works.
However I want to achieve better performance to run the Mac OS as a "primary OS" on my laptop.
What I was thinking about is to set up Windows to kill all processes on startup which do not need to be executed (Sound, Aero, Explorer, ...) and to execute VMware automatically so that it seems we're are directly booting into Mac OS X without too many unnecessary services running in the background.
This would be the only solution I can think about due to the restriction that it is VERY difficult to run Mac OS X natively on a laptop or PC. Any idea how I can manage this or do you even know any better solutions to achieve what i want?

Buy a Mac!
Bonus: You'll be in compliance with the Mac OS X License Agreement, which requires that you only install the operating system on official Apple-branded hardware. Installation on a virtual machine is explicitly forbidden, and quite unlikely to be successful for an iOS developer.
You'll also need to buy an iPhone or iPad anyway to test your applications on the physical hardware.
