I have just upgraded to Mac OS Lion and I have a problem with Fugu application that I used to use on Snow Leopard, I can't run it on Lion now.
Do you know how a patch for running it on Lion or have you alternative applications which does the same things ?
I know there is the Terminal (scp localPath login#ip:distantPath) to copy files but it's easier to do this job with a SCP client if you are looking for the file you want to transfer among all directories.

Fugu works for me on Lion. Perhaps you should just download a newer version, or give details on the error you get.
If you don't mind spending money on it, Transmit is a great alternative (that is, if you're comfortable with SFTP).
Anyway, this question doesn't really belong here.

I use Interarchy, not that expensive and great to work with.
For Fugu, there is a preview release that works on Lion.

I need to create a USB Boot Up containing the Yosemite Installer. All the methods i have found on the internet insist that i have the Yosemite.app installer, to create the USB before installing the OS. I don't have the installer in my applications folder it's been a while since i installed the Yosemite. How can i create the USB Boot up now since i don't have the Yosemite.app ? I tried to use a third party application like the DiskMAker application but it also needs that i have the installer.. Any Ideas?
It turned out that there is no other way to do it without re-downloading the file once again from the app store. Maybe Apple should take care of that matter
You should be able to redownload the "Install Yosemite.app" from the App Store even on a Mac running 10.10. The App Store will display a warning about Yosemite being already installed, but you can simply click "Continue".
Once downloaded, you can use any guide out there to create a USB Installer, for example this one, which also talks about redownloading the Installer.

I was wondering if it is safe to upgrade to OS X Yosemite today when they release the official version?
Yosemite Stable version at Apple
The most important tool I need working is Homebrew (nginx, php etc)
Will those packages continue to work, or will it most likely break and be unsupported for a while?
Thanks.
As I understand it, a bunch of people I know using Yosemite GM and homebrew have not seen any new issues arise. I do hear about general performance improvements under Yosemite, so that sounds promising. The mobile devs in my office also seem to like it, but they mostly just use XCODE, so that may not apply to you. As always, make sure to backup your machine before the upgrade, and test your tools thoroughly once finished.
Homebrew's (cautious) advice is to wait for a week or two if you really need your machine to work, though people have been using Homebrew with the betas and hammering through problems with popular packages. There is a list of things in Homebrew core that are still broken on 10.10 here: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/issues/29988 -- though the php and nginx formulas are not in core, so I can't advise on those.

Where to find JewleryBox (ruby rvm gui) that works on 10.6.8?
Current version on web site http://jewelrybox.unfiniti.com/ claims that it works for 10.6.8 but when started notes that it requires OSX 10.7.
10.6 support has been dropped to pave the way for utilizing better APIs in newer versions of OS X. I can give you a copy of the last version that runs on 10.6, v1.3. Keep in mind though that you'll be unable to upgrade RVM past about 1.16 or so because changes were introduced in RVM that broke JewelryBox. Those fixes were added in v1.4, which is only for 10.7 or newer.
Ping me #remear to remind me as I'll need to dig up the old version and place it in a location from which you can download it.

I am a iPhone Developer. I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. I need to install mac os x(Lion or snow leopard) on it since buying a mac is too costly. Just for practicing.
Guys can anyone help me on how to install mac os. Thanks in advance.
That's totally illegal, but nothing is impossible. There are some tricky ways to do it. But you won't get best results or good development environment in it. So, if you want Mac OSX, then buy a Mac. I will not share any tricky ways to install Mac OSX in dell laptop as it is illegal. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm deadly interested in Cocoa. I want to begin to study Objective-C and to use Xcode. Please tell me what the minimal (let's say, the cheap one) Mac Model you'd like to recommend me. I am meaning for Xcode 4.
Thank you.
Any Mac you can buy at this moment will be fine. Your cheapest option would probably be the Mac mini if you have a decent screen already. Other good options can be the MacBook 13" (I use this is my main development machine) and iMac of you don't need to be mobile.
Any new Mac. Or any used Intel-based Mac under 3 years old.
