C1083 : Permission denied on .sbr files - visual-studio-2005

I am using Visual Studio 2005 (with SP1) and I am getting weird errors concerning .sbr files. These files, as I read on MSDN, are intermediate files for BSCMAKE to generate a .bsc file.
The errors I get are, for example (on different builds) :
11>string.cpp : fatal error C1083: Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier généré(e) par le compilateur : '.\debug\String.sbr' : Permission denied
58>type.cpp : fatal error C1083: Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier généré(e) par le compilateur : '.\Debug/Type.sbr' : Permission denied
Translation : cannot open compiler intermediate file
It seems to be consistent (I have at least 5 or 6 examples like this) with a .cpp file being compiled twice in the same project, respectively :
11>String.cpp
*some warnings, 2 lines*
11>String.cpp
58>Type.cpp
*some warnings and other files compiled, a lot of lines*
58>Type.cpp
I already checked the .vcproj files for duplicate entries and it does not seem to be the problem.
I would appreciate any help regarding this issue. Deactivating the build of .bsc files seems to be a workaround but maybe someone has better information than this. Thanks.

Try to check your sbr file properties to see are the files read only.

This is probably a conflict between multiple projects in your solution. A detailed set of possible fixes are listed in the answer to VC2008 compiler errors opening sbr files.

Can't add Embree to my project, getting LNK1104 error

I'm trying to add Embree to an already working solution, following this resource I've added to my CMakeLists.txt file the following:
FIND_PACKAGE(embree 3.0 REQUIRED)
INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES(${EMBREE_INCLUDE_DIRS})
TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES(application ${EMBREE_LIBRARY})
I've also created a Windows environment variable embree_DIR with my Embree installation folder ("C:\Program Files\Intel\Embree3 x64").
CMake configures the solution fine, but when I build I get a fatal error LNK1104: impossible to open 'embree3.lib'.
Just so you know, I actually have a C:\Program Files\Intel\Embree3 x64\lib\embree3.lib file.
Anyone has any clue why this might be happening?
Set EMBREE_ROOT_DIR e.g.:
set(EMBREE_ROOT_DIR "C:/thirdparty/vs2017/x64/embree-2.17.0")
Link to ${EMBREE_LIBRARIES}
target_link_libraries(YourApp
...
${EMBREE_LIBRARIES}
...
)

Error -1501 - any ideas? - InstallShield "Basic MSI" Projects?

Can anyone help, the error I'm getting when I try to build a release? The error from the logs is as below:
Building .cab files...
ISEXP : error : -1501: Could not compress "F:\Nagarajan\Projects\Game\Game.opensdf" into "F:\Nagarajan\Projects\Game\Game Installer\Game Installer\Express\SingleImage\DiskImages\DISK1\Data1.cab"
Kindly help me. Thanks in advance
The .opensdf file is a temporary file, used by - and held open by - Visual Studio whiile you have your project open. It should not be part of your distribution, so you just need to remove it from the list of files packed by the installer.

Creating Setup of large data with NSIS Script

I am creating setup of large data approximetly 10 GB with NSIS Script and trying to create a single setup (exe). Its giving an Error -
Internal compiler error #12345: error mmapping file (xxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxx) is out of range.
Note: you may have one or two (large) stale temporary file(s) left in your temporary directory (Generally this only happens on Windows 9x).
Please tell me how to solve this issue ?
Is there any other way to create a setup for this kinda situation ?
NSIS installers are limited to 2Gb.
If you absolutely need it to be one file and you want to continue to use NSIS you have to append the data to the end of the generated setup. I'm not sure I would recommend that approach but it could work if the appended data is a zip file (or some other format with the header at the end) and you use one of the NSIS zip plugins to extract at run-time...
I have used https://sourceforge.net/projects/nsisbi/ instead of normal NSIS. It solved the problem.
I was using Silent Install Builder 5 and received this same error with a package installer that had LESS that 2 GB total. Once I determined that the NSIS compiler was to blame, I began experimenting with several possible solutions and here's what worked: I downloaded the newer NSISBI compiler from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/nsisbi/ and then did these 3 steps:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Silent Install Builder 5 and renamed the default NSIS folder to a new name.
Copied the NSISBI folder into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Silent Install Builder 5 directory and renamed IT to NSIS.
Tries to compile some large packages above and just below 2GB and the first few tries I would get missing file errors in the Silent Install Builder 5 compiling box. No worries because the missing files are in the old NSIS folder, that's why y9u don't delete it.
Each time find the missing file error displays, find the missing files and copy them into the same folder location in the new NSIS folder. About 3 times you will do this until there are no more errors at all and you can then include the large files without generating the "internal compiler error #12345: error mmapping file xxxx is out of range." error message. NSISBI works!

Why am I recieving this error: LNK1104: cannot open file 'opencv_core246d.lib''?

I am trying to run a program that does not include any opencv files, but for some reason this error keeps popping up and preventing me from running the program.
LNK1104: cannot open file 'opencv_core246d.lib' C:\Users\Public\Documents\imgSwitchingFiles
Please can somebody shed light on this issue?
It looks like your project options state this library should be linked to your binaries. Did you reuse this project from elsewhere?
If you really don't need OpenCV, simply remove its libraries from the project linking options.
In project properties:
VC++ Directories>Library files>C:\OpenCV2.4.3\build\x86\vc9\lib
&
Linker>Input>Additional Dependencies>
Add the following under edit (each on a new line)
opencv_core243d.lib; opencv_imgproc243d.lib; opencv_highgui243d.lib; opencv_ml243d.lib; opencv_video243d.lib; opencv_features2d243d.lib; opencv_calib3d243d.lib; opencv_objdetect243d.lib; opencv_contrib243d.lib; opencv_legacy243d.lib; opencv_flann243d.lib;
Your file paths may be different i.e. vc10 instead of vc9 or u may have x64 instead of x86.
Also u will have 246 in every .lib instead of 243.

Error while building dll for resource file --error CVT1100: duplicate resource. type:DIALOG, name:4159, language:0x0409

I trying to create dll from resource files.
I have more than 1 .rc file and want to include in dll.
but i am getting following error
error CVT1100: duplicate resource. type:DIALOG, name:4159, language:0x0409
error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt.
I searched a lot but couldn't solved yet.
I may have had the same problem in my project (but I used Visual Studio 2008).
In my case the problem was that in "Project Properties/Linker/Manifest File/Generate Manifest" when in
- "Debug" mode the setting should be "No" (setting to "Yes" generates exactly the same error)
- but when in "Release" mode the setting should be "Yes".
