Using something like this? Unless you mean using code of course, in, you know, a programming language?

Adobe provide icons here, with appropriate licensing restrictions. I don't know if MS provide a similar thing for Word.

C:\Windows\Installer\{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}\wordicon.exe
I found the icon in above file path in my computer.

Guide for Carrot2 in PDF

Could you please say if there is a pdf (or doc) version of the documentation? If yes, where can I find it?
If such does not exist, I guess it would be great to create such.
PDF allows reading the file in Mendeley Desktop program, underlining parts that are important for me and putting comments. THis would be a great advantage to compare with the html version of the guide.
If you're using Chrome, just go to the Carrot2 online help manual and choose "Print...". In the "Destination" box on the left-hand side change it to "Save as PDF" and click OK. This functionality is built-in to Chrome by default.
For other browsers I'm sure there are add-ins/plugins you can find or you can always use a third-party PDF driver like PrimoPDF.

Image button generator for language names

I am looking to create jpg/png buttons with text as various language names. But the online tools don't seem to recognize the non-english words like language names for arabic, thai and hindi etc.
I tried http://dabuttonfactory.com/ with text as name of the language in local characters and all I see is ??????.
Any pointer or online resource to create non-css image buttons would be of great help?
Thanks in advance.
The issue is with the fonts. The online tool you mentioned has limited fonts and none of them support the scripts you want to create buttons for. I just searched around and found this service which apparently has a wider variety of fonts and also lets you to upload your own font. The caveat is that it seems to be a paid service.

Programmatically Inserting Data into an InDesign Document

I have to use Adobe InDesign for creating documents. We basically need to have a couple variables throughout the document (company name, project name, etc) that need to be filled in.
I was wondering if there is a way to take an existing template and maybe programmatically fill these in using a language I'm comfortable with (Ruby, Python, etc). I have tried to open the Adobe InDesign file using a text editor - but when I make modifications using Notepad++ and then open the file in InDesign, it tells me the file is corrupted.
If you have any insight with programmatically building InDesign documents or know of any tutorials that would be much appreciated.
P.S. I tried to check out Adobe's ExtendScript but wasn't finding much documentation applying to InDesign.
Thanks for the help!
There is no (legal) way to do this in Ruby/Python. Theoretically it is possible to edit InDesign documents directly using any language but:
It's nowhere near as easy as just making some text modifications, you would have to figure out more about the format, and
It's in direct violation of the InDesign license agreement meaning you could face legal action if Adobe finds out.
ExtendScript is perfect for doing small things like this. If you open up ExtendScript Toolkit and set the target to InDesign you can browse and search the entire API easily. Doing search/replace for simple text variables is not hard at all.
An alternative would be exporting the documents to the .idml language which is easier and legal to edit outside of InDesign.
You can use the DataMerge-feature of Indesign --> https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/data-merge.html
I think this is exactly what you are looking for.
Or you can use the Indesign API. Have a look at Extendscript-Toolkit especially the ObjectModell-Viewer.
You need to convert your .indd file to .idml and unzi it.
In /Stories/Story_*.idml you may found all text variables.
And no easy ways to change text variables in .indd without Adobe products.

Can I save a DMBL layout as a jpeg/png?

Is it possible to save the layout diagram from a DBML file as a jpeg/png or any other image format?
A manager wants to know what we are storing in our database and the print out wasn't enough he wants an electronic version.
I know I can use a screen-shot but wonder if there are any other options? I've just thought about printing to a PDF printer as well. Still would be nice if there was a save to PNG
Thanks
If you are a MSOffice user, you can use Microsoft OneNote (copy diagram over there and then export it to a PNG), or you can use Snipping Tool, which is basically a nice tool for taking screen shots out of portions of the screen.
In the end I just used a PDF printer which worked quite nicely.

Load word document content to PrintDocument

I have a .doc or .dot file and I'd like to view it in PrintPreviewDialog. I heard that I only can view it if I can load the .doc content into PrintDocument object or atleast paint the content on.
Anyone know how to do it?
Thanks in advance
Microsoft Word is required to load the .doc and generate the preview image of document. Embedding Word in your own window used to be possible but support for this is rapidly disappearing. The old DsoFramer control used to be the standard solution but you can no longer download it. It got removed when the Office 2010 beta became available, an ominous sign. Embedding it in a WebBrowser might still be possible, not sure.
The long term solution is to use Word itself to generate the preview. Use the Document.PrintPreview() method.
