Windows Mobile 6 Emulator change storage? - memory-management

How do i change the size of the Windows Mobile 6 Emulator. Its fixed at 32mb. I read this post: Increasing Windows Mobile 5 Emulator Storage
But it only helps for the 5.0 version. Isnt there any way to increase the storage size in version 6.0?

I've just answered in the WinMo 5.0 question, but it works for 6.0 too, so I'll repost it:
Under http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549675 you will find a driver for the emulator that sets up a RAM Disk, that for the emulator is seen as an external storage card but doesn't suffer from the issues with mapping a folder. I've checked with SQL Compact sdf file stored in the RAMDisk and it works like a charm. I've used it as a 64MB drive but supposedly it can handle up to 256 MB.

Android Studio and Emulator not responding

I have an Acer Aspire E5-573 laptop with 4Gb RAM, Windows-10 64 bit operating system. Whenever I start my Android Studio, my laptop stops responding, and I am my program does not run on the emulator. What do you think would be the problem?
You have to increase your RAM atleast 8gb,
alternative way:
Use lower version of android studio because version 4.0 and up has many features like animations etc. don't use AVD Android Virtual Device instead try to use Physical phone as emulator
Its mainly happen when your computers memory (RAM) run out, when there is no sufficient memory(RAM) space left to run your program than your laptop is not responding.
Possible solution
Increase your RAM (memory) to minimum 8 GB and
Include a SSD storage in your laptop

Android Emulator tried with RAM Sizes

Please help me.
I have installed Andoird in my 16GB Ram, I5 Processor laptop.
Everything went well but Emulator is never starting.
I tried with different RAM sizes like 1536,950,512,700,600,800,1100,450,1450.
None worked.I am using CPU/ABI in X86_64, a shown below. Can you please suggest me something.
AVD setup
Thanks
"I have installed Andoird", sounds like you want to use emulator for some other use than for development, if so than Android Emulator isn't that good as it is. If you're using it for development usage, then try to update the system images for API level 23
- the emulator may take upto 10 (or more) minutes to start
-confirm that emulator is running in Task manager,
also , API level 23 is quite new so It may contain bugs that are not known.

Increase memory limit for background application

Windows Phone 7 gives you 6 MB of memory for a background application. How can I increase this limit?
I'm using WP 7.1.1 with the latest updates.
Windows Phone has very strict rules about background agents. So, going past this limitation is not possible, unless you modify the registry after an interop-unlock.

What is the appropriate number of memory usage for Windows Phone app

as my title.
I heard that my friend's app was failed to publish to marketplace. Because it consumes more than 90MB phone memory.
I'm developing an application and it uses about 30-60 MB (according to memory counter display from this link.)
Firstly I thought it was too much for a mobile app. I put all my data entries into memory in order to do search, instead of querying them from SQLite which is too slow for me.
So what do you think about the appropriate number of the phone memory for a regular mobile application.
Well, Microsoft Certification Requirements document says that:
An application must not exceed 90 MB of RAM usage, except on devices that have more than 256 MB of memory.
If you break this rule, your application won't pass Microsoft certification process.

How much space should I leave for my Windows 7 partition?

I'm setting up a complete .NET development environment on my Macbook Pro.
I'm using Visual Studio 08 team suite, SQL server 2008, MS Office and other tools (like FinalBuilder, RegexBuddy, Beyond Compare).
How big should my windows 7 (beta currently) partition be? Will 100GB be enough?
NOTE: I wasn't sure if this was programming related enough for SO, so I'll just let the community decide if this question is relevant.
100 GB should be more than enough for all those apps. I've installed win7 in a virtual machine and the virtual HDD ended up with a size of 7GB (that's only the OS of course). Trying the same with Vista, for example, uses about 25GB. It seems they're making it lighter.
You described my laptop. 100 GB would leave approx. 40GB for Users directory.
100 GB will be plenty. You'll have OS, apps, but no music, pics, videos. 100GB is probably overkill, especially if you can resize it if needed.
I have Windows 7 installed on a laptop with 2 100 Gb hard drives.
Currently I'm using 18 Gb and that's with most of the primary stuff installed, but not Visual Studio or SQL, but those probably won't use more than 10 Gb (I reckon). I do have Virtual XP Mode installed which is probably quite large too.
The Windows folder is about 9.3 Gb
The User folder is 3.2 Gb (but I have some large files on my desktop)
The Program Files is 3.0 Gb
The rest of the files on the OS-drive are mostly driver files which you don't have to leave on the drive itself.
So 100 gb would probably even be an overkill, but does give you some headroom!
Windows7 is going to be a little bit smaller than Windows Vista. So if you create partition big enough for Windows Vista, it will be perfect for Windows7.
See Engineering7 blog for more information about disk space in Windows7.
I would give as much as you could to Windows 7, since it will probably become your primary OS. I find that I rarely use my OSX partition, except for cracking WEP.
100 GB is barely enough. You can install Windows 7 and the mentioned programs along with lot of other stuff, but once you get to have some lots of trash there and there plus you happen to download movies and such it gets cumbersome.
Unless you're relying on some other device for things other than those tools, I recommend a larger space allocation, of at least 150 GB
